"xxx hospital, huh?" Mina stood in front of an enormous hospital on a spacious field and wide parking area, filled with large windows and expensive cars. "Why does she make me do this?" Mina scoffed and wore her shades. Several Years ago Myoui Mina. Ballet was her first love. She learned how to dance before she could walk and speak. She started doing ballet inside her family's house in Texas, her birthplace. Until she turned 4 and her parents decided to move back at their hometown back in Kobe, Japan. She didn't mind it though. She liked the 'new' house anyway. After a year, her parents decided to enroll Mina and her older brother Kai in an expensive private school that's filled with big scholarships waiting for talented and intelligent students. Imagine a tiny child, nervously waddling inside a big hallway, only knowing how to speak in english. That's not Mina. Mina was confidently standing on the hallway beside an anxious Kai while waiting for their excited mother who's talking with the headmaster of the school. Mina and Kai happily greeted an old friend from Texas, Ong Seongwoo, who left with Kai after saying that his going to give a tour for his friend. Mina leaned against the navy blue wall while other students are look at her as they passed by. Until Park Jisoo, the school headmaster's niece, approached the new student and smiled. "Hello! I'm Park Jisoo. Do you want to be friends?" The Korean introduced herself in proper english. Mina was unsure but smiled back. "Sure. My name's Myoui Mina." Later did they know, the two elders cooed and took pictures of their interaction and agreed to assign the two in the same class. The two grew up together as time passed by. Mina helped the older with her student council work while Jisoo attended and supported her friend's ballet practices. The two started their second year when Mina's club moderator saw how great the younger danced and decided to talk to her family about a scholarship abroad. The family was hesitant at first because they're worried at their Mina's education but they agreed since the moderator explained to them that the academy has a big love for education and ballet is just their main co-curricular club. (And well, Mina said she wanted to try new things and survive risks while she's still young.) Her mother was moved with her daughter's brave words but Mr. Myoui was still worried. "But you're going to be all alone there Mina. We don't have any relatives living there." "About that Mr. Myoui, there would be a dorm for students and the school will pay for her first year there." Mr. Myoui slowly nodded. "Are you sure, Mina?" "Yes Kai nee-chan." "Then it's settled. All you have to do is submit your documents and pick a friend to accompany you, someone that could pass the entrance exam to receive the scholarship too." "Oh, I know someone who's probably smarter than me." Mina smiled at the thought. After a week, everything is settled and both Mina and Jisoo said goodbyes to their family and left towards New York. Mina studied hard and practiced diligently at the academy, with Jisoo studying hard too. As years passed by, Mina didn't failed her family and school as she turned into one of the youngest and upcoming famous ballet dancers in this new generation. She and Jihyo graduated early despite being only 20 due to their smartness. Little did Mina know that her whole life is going to experience a big change. "Minari! Mina! Myoui Mina!" "Park Jisoo, I'm right here." A woman with white formal dress ran to her friend who is busy warming up near the sofa. Mostly giving her right leg a hard massage. "There you are. After a few minutes, you're going to perform. And I told you a lot of times, I'm Jihyo now." "I told you to use my stage name too, Jihyo." Mina rolled her eyes. "Stop you. By the way, did you rest before you went here?" Jihyo asked. "Yep." Jihyo raised a brow. "Okay, not really. I practiced during morning to early afternoon." Mina cleared . "You're overexerting yourself again." Jihyo hissed. "Relax Ji. You know I've been doing ballet since my whole life. I won all of the ballet competitions I participated before." "But you've been practicing for the past months, you're barely eating a full meal. I can't relax." "I promise that this is the last time that I'll exceed myself." "That's what you said to me last time. Did you listen to me? NOPE." Mina smiled. "Jihyo-yah, What could possibly go wrong?" "I have a bad feeling about this, Mina. You know there's a lot of very experienced people that ended up getting hurt because they think they're unaffected of injuries or something." "I'm your friend for like, 15 years? You know me better. Trust me, okay?" "Of course I trust you." Jihyo reprimanded the younger. "Besides, I'm a Myoui. Myouis fight back against troubles even when it's risky and dangerous." "Aish Mina, such a hard-headed angel." Jihyo shook her head. "That's what they call me. The upcoming angelic Black Swan that came from Japan that destroys her foes with elegance." Mina did a little spin, making Jihyo laugh. "Add being a ert." "What do you-" "Now calling our final contestant, number ten, representing New York, USA. The undefeatable-" The emcee's booming voice called out for Mina, who brushed her bangs to the right side and heaved a deep breath. "I'll be on the side. Good luck." Jihyo patted her friend's shoulder. "Thanks but luck doesn't need to help me win this." Mina smirked. "Sharon Myoui!" The whole audience clapped at the blonde walking towards the middle of the arena. Mina kept a serious expression as she lowered her head and put her hand on her hip while waiting for her song piece. A mellow but melancholic song started playing as Mina swayed with the music. The crowd began to quiet down as they were stunned and mesmerized by the blonde's graceful and beautiful movements. After a minute, the song got more intense and more dramatic as cymbals clashed and violins strummed. Mina felt her body's getting heavier and heavier as each turns she did. But every leaps and pivots made her body craved for more and more at the excitement. Pirouettes and poses are getting harder and her body feels more weaker than before. Especially her right leg and she doesn't like the feeling. "Damn. I won't fail here." Mina tightly keep shut while her teeth gritted against each other. The song ended after she leaped for the last time. Until, her right foot steps on the ground. Mina hissed. Somewhere on her tibia cracked and broke and she fell down hurriedly while gripping her black tutu. The audience gasped while some looked at Mina worriedly and others took out their phones to take a picture or video of what's happening. Jihyo hastily ran towards the pained blonde who's being surrounded by the medical team standing by in case someone gets hurt. "Sharon! Where's the damn stretcher? Move faster please!" Jihyo exasperatedly shouted. "Be gentle people! Aigoo Sharon, you'll be alright." Mina was gently lifted up on the stretcher as the emcee tried to calm down the people. "E-ehem. Thank you contestant no. 10. Sharon Myoui never fails us with her usually perfect and powerful performance. She overcame the pain till the end of her performance. Let us all clap our hands for her!" The emcee said as he clapped with the audience and judges. "Thank God you're awake. Doctor, w-what's the problem?" Jihyo asked as she held the drowsy Mina. The doctor sighed. "Due to overworking and tiredness and no resting for the past months," the doctor paused. Mina raised a brow. "Your tibia broke into half and the other half has dissipated." "T-tibia? As in the larger bone of the lower limb?" Jihyo grimaced. "Yes. Good thing we performed surgery on Ms. Myoui earlier and we put a steel rod on the remaining half, otherwise it would be harder for us to do it if she was brought here not on time." He smiled. Mina couldn't believe it. "Good thing? How the does this," Mina pointed on her right leg wrapped in a thick cast and bandages. "looks like a good thing to you?" "I'm sorry but if we didn't performed the surgery, you would be on a far worse state." "Let's just say, that's the right thing to do. But, what's the effects?" Jihyo creased her brows. "You can't run or overuse your right leg anymore because it will start hurting. You have to drink or eat something with calcium to regain your bones strength. Lastly, I hate to say this Ms. Myoui but, Mina's heart shattered in pieces after hearing the doctor's words. "You can't dance anymore." "Miss Yuna Choi. How does it feel to be the new world champion in ballet?" "I feel honored. I'm thankful to all of my supporters and my role model." Yuna smiled at the camera. "May I ask who's this role model that I heard that has been your idol since you started ballet?" "Miss Myoui Sharon. Even though we're in the same age, she really amazes me on how powerful she performs on stage and how cool she is. It's sad to think just because of an injury, she has to stop ballet and disappear. But someday, I hope I can perform-" "Yeah sure." Mina turned off the flat screen and sighed. It has been 4 years since the competition and yet, she's still locking herself inside their homey house in Kobe. "Damn you, you pesky fate." Mina said. "Minari! Jihyo's here!" "Okay mom." Mina walked down towards the couch and greeted her old friend. "Hi Minari. How's everything?" "Hi Ji. Same old me I guess. Why are you here?" Mina asked her friend as she looked at her. "Maybe because I miss you?" "Yeah. I miss you too. But
