Also, their parents' names are completely made up and were based on my imagination. The setting is around 1980 (cellphones are yet to be invented). P.S. Prepare yourself because- "Hello Jihyun-noona, Sona-hyung. How was the flight? Please get in." Ringo greeted his cousins. "It's tiring." Sona deadpanned as he sat on the couch and sighed. Mikan chuckled before noticing the three young teenagers standing near the stairway. "Hey, is that them?" She asked, smiling at the fidgeting trio. "Yep. Jisoo-yah, Seoyeon-ah, Jiyoung-ah, say hi to your Uncle Ringo and Aunt Mikan." The three murmured a small hello. "They're quiet like my babies." Ringo nodded. Sona chuckled. "Don't be foolish. They're the most energetic children I ever met." Jisoo cleared . "Sorry for that aunt Mikan, uncle Ringo. I am Jisoo, the oldest. I go by the name Jihyo too." "Hi Jisoo-ah." The younger couple waved. "Hello. And this is Jiyoung and our youngest, Seoyeon." Jisoo or Jihyo said before the three of them bowed. "Oh no. No need to be so formal. Please make yourself comfortable here." Mikan giggled. "You raised your three girls right. Look how polite and pretty they are." Ringo said amusedly. "They know how to behave properly in a proper situation. We're lucky to have them." Sona said proudly. Jihyun smiled with her daughters. "By the way, I'm sure you girls want to explore Kobe so you better go up and bring your belongings upstairs. Your room has a door with a star on the far right corridor." Mikan said while pointing at the stairs. The trio nodded before heading upstairs. Jihyun looked at her cousin. "Oh my. Mikan-ah, Ringo-ah, you're getting better talking in Korean." "Yeah. Mina and Kai teach us sometimes. We take lessons too." The conversation went on and on as time passed by. "Where are those two?" Jihyo sighed while standing on a bridge in the middle of what seems to be a small park. "I swear if they left me again, I will-" Jihyo was cutted off when her gaze laid on a person distraughtly scribbling on a pad of paper. The woman's expression looked like she's about to cry in confusion. But despite the confused expression and anxious demeanor, the woman is extremely pretty and poor Jihyo's sure that the blonde's hair is as nice and fragrant like the Autumn flowers around her. She crossed her legs elegantly while pressing the other end of her pen against those pouty lips. And oh my god, the way the tip of her tongue darts out from the corner of whenever she look around the surroundings. "Oh no, her tongue's not supposed to leave . Oh no Park Jihyo, you're straight so stop gaying on the random woman you're looking at." Jihyo shook her head frantically to erase the thoughts, her cheeks warming up even though it's cold during fall season. Jihyo stared at the woman (she doesn't want to call it spying because she can see everything for she is god) for 10 minutes until she noticed that the woman's still distressed. "Does she need help?" Jihyo tilted her head. She was about to approach the woman when suddenly someone called her name. "Jihyo-unnie!" "Hm? Seoyeon, Jiyoung!" "Where have you been, unnie?" Seoyeon asked, approaching the older. "What do you mean? I was just standing here the whole time when suddenly you guys disappeared." Jihyo creased her brows. "It's her fault unnie. I told her not to follow the damn turkeys but what did she do? SHE FREAKING FOLLOWED THEM." Jiyoung answered, wiping a sweat off from her cheeks. "They chase us after we gave them bread. They're ungrateful." Seoyeon pouted. "We ran around the town for minutes just because of your stupid actions." "Hey! I was being nice to the environment. Unlike you who glares at every squirrel you see." "Because they're making a mess." "Acorns and leaves are biodegrada-" Thwick! Thwick! The two hissed while rubbing their foreheads after Jihyo flicked them. "Now you two listen. Jiyoung, you can't just call your sister stupid just because she's being nice to the environment. And when did you started cursing? I don't even curse." Jihyo glared at the younger. "You curse when you're frustrated or angry." "What the ? I don't." Jihyo creased her brows. "See?" Seoyeon said while Jiyoung nodded. Jihyo glared. "Besides, I didn't called her stupid. Her actions ARE stupid." Jiyoung mumbled. Jihyo furrowed her brows. "You have a point. But still! You can't do that." Jihyo pointed out. "Fine. I'm sorry Seo." Seoyeon smiled at her unnie. "And you Seo, you can't just follow turkeys. Turkeys are part of an evil organization. Besides, there's a lot of ways to be nice at the environment." Jiyoung snorted. Seoyeon widened her eyes. "R-really?" "That's evil." Jiyoung squinted her eyes. "Hush you. Now, if you don't want to be chase by turkeys, follow unnie's words and let's go back." "Okay!" The younger two saluted and walked first. Jihyo smiled at her sisters before looking back to the troubled woman, only to see her walking to a different direction. Jihyo blinked before following her sisters. It has been 4 days since the incident and everytime Jihyo walks around the town, she always find a certain (and only) woman that always catches her eyes. Now, it's Thursday and Jihyo is happily finishing her bowl of ramen peacefully when, "U-unnie." "Hm?" Jihyo slurped down her ramen. "You can do it Jiyoung-unnie." Seoyeon encouraged her older sister. "Can I ask you a favor?" Jiyoung asked nervously. "Sure Young. What is it?" Jihyo stopped eating her ramen. "I-uh-" "Usually, Young-unnie brings her own sanitary napkins but she forgot that we're going to stay here for a month." Seoyeon cutted her off. Jiyoung glared at her before looking back at Jihyo. "So uh can you um, you know..." "You want me to buy sanitary napkins for you?" Jihyo smiled. "Please?" Jiyoung nodded. "What's in for me?" Jihyo asked. "I'm going to clean the dishes for a week." "You got yourself a deal." "Thank you Japan for being so considerate to the environment." Jihyo smiled, looking at the sanitary napkins inside the paper bag she's holding. Jihyo decided to walk around the park, hoping to see the woman again. "Yep. I'm right." Jihyo whistled as she stared at the troubled woman sitting on her usual spot, the bench near the bridge. "Hmm. Shall I approach her and help?" Jihyo pondered off while itching to go and make friends with the woman. "Well, Young prolly wouldn't mind if I take a little time. Besides, she has a spare one in her luggage." Jihyo shrugged, jogging towards the woman. "Oh my, I she's prettier up close." Jihyo hyperventilated, standing right in front the cool beauty. Her face is made up of tiny constellations as moles scattered around her face. Her blonde hair tied up on a messy bun but she still managed to pull it off perfectly. Her face have a smooth and elegant features despite the scowling expression. Jihyo continued to stare at the woman until the woman cleared . "Hello. Do you need anything?" The woman smiled kindly, her voice is making Jihyo's heart flutter uncontrollably. "Goodness gracious." "Uh, what?" The woman asked confusedly. "G-goodness gracious! Doesn't the flowers look and smell great?" Jihyo covered, silently dying inside. "Uh yeah, they're great. That's why I always sit here because they make me relax and think." "Ooh. By the way, I am Ji. That's my nickname." Jihyo extended a hand, which Mina shook. "I'm Mina." The woman smiled. "Do you mind if I sit here?" Mina shook her head and Jihyo sat happily, still looking at Mina. "So, I don't mean to pry but I noticed that you really look bothered. Are you okay?" Jihyo asked. "Ah yeah, I'm okay don't worry. This essay's not though. I've been having a hard time since this is not my forte." Mina looked cross. "What's the essay all about?" "Human relationships around me." Mina made a disgusted face. Jihyo smiled. "Maybe I can help." "Really?" Mina brightened up. "Yep. I'm currently taking human relations. I'm going to be a senior at a good university in Korea after summer." "I'm going to be a senior too." Mina gasped. "Really? What course did you took?" Jihyo asked. "Political science. I don't know why but my professor gave us an essay about relations. Maybe to prepare us when we're going to have clients or something." Mina shrugged. "Oh. Is that why you're in a park to observe people around you?" "Yeah. Actually, I have a few ideas already. I'm just contemplating on how to create it as an essay." Mina rubbed her nape, showing her ideas and sentences. "These are actually good!" "Thanks. It's kinda nice of someone to criticize my essay in case if I made a mistake or something." Mina shyly rubbed her nape. Jihyo smiled softly. "Then, I should be here everyday, no?" Mina giggled, fluttering Jihyo's heart. "Maybe." "By the way, how many words are needed in the essay?" Mina sighed. "1,250 words." Jihyo winced. "By hand?" "Yeah. My professor thinks that younger generations are relying too much on technology." "That's why he thinks it's okay to submit an essay with 1,250 words, which should be written by hand?" "And must be submitted in 2 weeks." Jihyo groaned. "I hate your professor." "He's not entirely an though. He give us more free time than the other professors." "Oh well, shall we start?" "Yes please." Hours have passed and the two worked productively. Jihyo felt the need to help the younger, maybe out of pure kindness. But her heart keeps on ramming inside her chest, tiny actions making her smile and blush. Which Mina never really noticed because she was busy with the essay. Jihyo continued staring at the younger busily scribbling a draft on the paper, her eyes following the tiny movements on the other's face. Mina's brows furrowed slightly as her brows raised every minute. Her nose scruching when she's making a tiny mistake. A tiny smile forming on her lips everytime she wrote a deep word. Her lips. Jihyo can't take her eyes off on Mina's lips. Mina's slightly chapped and glossy plump lips. Jihyo felt her heart stopped a beat. "Hey Ji, I think this should be enough for today." "Ji?" Jihyo jerked a bit. "Huh? Ah y-yeah, you're right. It's getting darker." Jihyo answered sheepishly, afraid if she was caught staring at the younger. Mina hummed, completely oblivious at the guilty woman. "Am I going to see you again tomorrow or something?" Jihyo asked hopefully. "Yeah. I'm gonna be here. Besides, I need your assistance too. I'm really thankful that you're helping me, despite being a total stranger." Mina genuinely smiled. "Don't you think you should be paying me though?" Jihyo joked. "Hmm yeah. I probabaly should." Mina thought for a moment. "Oh, I was just joking." "I'm not joking though." Mina teasingly smiled, standing up as she slung her bag on her shoulder. Jihyo opened to protest but ended up and sighing and smiling at the taller. "Okay, whatever you say. See you tomorrow, Mi-chan." "Bye Ji." The younger waved and left. "I'm back!" "Hi, Jisoo." A well built man said near the couch. "Hi Kai." Jihyo greeted her cousin. "Unnie! What took you so long?" Jiyoung whined angrily. Jihyo furrowed her brows as she stared at the younger. "There was a commotion and I helped a girl." "For 4 hours? Just give me the stuff." "Okay sheesh. No need to get angry, you tiny brat." "Who are you calling a tiny brat? I'm nearly as tall as you and I'm still 15." Jiyoung went to the bathroom. "Where's my thank you?" Jihyo asked. "THANK YOU." Jihyo huffed, looking at Seoyeon for an explanation. "Mood swings?" Seoyeon nodded. "Aish whatever. I'm going to our room." Jihyo walked upstairs and went inside their designated room. Jihyo closed the door and slumped down on the bed, sighing tiredly. "Why does my heart keeps on doing that?" Jihyo groaned. "I'm turning into a Nayeon." Jihyo went silent. "Do I like her?" Jihyo slapped her cheeks firmly. "Nope. It's too early." Jihyo slumped her arms on her sides. "Maybe it's infatuation? Attraction? Love?" Jihyo asked herself. Jihyo slapped her cheeks again. "But there's a lot of people falling in love in just mere seconds." Jihyo mumbled. "Whatever. I'm just going to embrace the whole damn feelings then." Jihyo huffed and closed her eyes, quickly falling asleep due to exhaustion. Probably dreaming of a pretty and elegant woman. "Mom?" Mina brought her phone near her ear. "Ah Minari! How's your day?" Mrs. Myoui asked over the phone. "It's great actually. A stranger named Ji helped me with my essay." "Ooh. By the way, when are you going home? It's already July." "I told you, I'm going home after I submit this essay." "Aw. Our relatives arrived already. Your uncle Sona's daughter is nearly the same age as you are, only a month older than you. She's really pretty too." "Really?" "Minari! Sana's here now!" Mina heard her roommate, Momo, shouted. "I bought toriniku so let's eat, I'm really starving." Mina heard Sana, her other roommate. "Mom, I should probably hang up. We're going to start eating dinner now." "Aw, goodnight Minari. Eat now. I love you." Mina can hear her mother babying her. "Goodnight mom. I love you too." "We love you too, auntie!" Sana and Momo said happily. Mrs. Myoui chuckled. "Tell them I love them too. Bye Minari." "Bye mom." Mina hanged up. "Minari, hurry up. Momoring's trying to take your food away." Sana called out for the younger. "Don't believe her, Minari. She's lying because she wants your attention." Momo sticked her tongue out. "No I don't." Sana glared. "You don't want my attention, Satang?" Mina pouted. Sana widened her eyes. Momo and Mina laughed. "Hi Mi-chan." "Oh hey Ji." Mina smiled at Jihyo, who sat beside her again. "Did you start already?" "Yeah. I added a few sentences but other than that, well no progress yet." Mina sighed. "Let me see." Mina handed out her draft to the older as she stared at her. Mina smiled softly as Jihyo read her draft, furrowing her brows at some deep Japanese words. She never felt so grateful while doing her assignment with another person. "So, how was it?" Mina anxiously asked. "It's great! Even though you're a quiet one, you're really good at observation and words with deep meaning." Jihyo smiled proudly. "Really? That's good." "Okay. So you're writing about friendship around this part, right?" Mina hummed. "Why don't you put your best friends or important friends?" Jihyo suggested. Mina nodded while writing the names of the people that's very important to her and she's very close with. "Should I write a small description about them?" "Yeah to be more precise or something." Mina hummed. "What's your full name?" Mina asked while scribbling the names. "Park Jihyo. Why'd you ask?" Jihyo asked curiously. Mina just smiled as she finished writing. She handed out her draft to Jihyo, who read the names. "Sana, Momo, Sakura, Daehwi, Ji- wait. Why am I here?" Jihyo laughed. "You told me to write the important friends that I have." Mina whined, making Jihyo's stomach feel weird. "A beautiful stranger that turns out to be one of the nicest and kindest person I ever met." Jihyo laughed. "Why are you laughing?" Mina laughed back. "Exaggerating much?" "Hey! I'm being honest here." Mina rolled her eyes. "Okay okay. But there's a slight mistake though." Jihyo made a serious face. Mina blinked and frowned. "Is it the name? Did I got it wrong?" Jihyo smiled. "Nope. Beautiful isn't the word suitable for me. It's for you." Mina blushed, earning a tiny squeal from the older. "Now who's exaggerating?" "Wait. Are you a foreigner?" Mina asked. "Yeah. I'm Korean. Why do you ask?" Jihyo smiled. "Park isn't really a Japanese name." Mina sheepishly smiled. Jihyo chuckled. "Ah right. Hehe." "Hehe." Mina mimicked her. "Hey. Don't copy me." Jihyo laughed. Mina just smiled prettily as she continued her essay. A week passed by until Saturday arrived. Jihyo continued to fall deeper and deeper for Mina. While Mina, Well, she's really happy with the older's presence. "Does it taste good?" "Yeah. Japan has one of the greatest food ever. Too bad I was born in Korea." Jihyo smiled, taking a bite of the vanilla crêpe. The two are standing on the bridge near the bench where they usually sit. "Ji, there's something that I want to talk to you about." Mina bit down on her crème filled crêpe. "Hmm?" Jihyo asked. "I passed my essay yesterday." "Ah really? What's your score?" Jihyo asked, surprised. "Highest in my class." Mina smirked. Jihyo smiled. "Ah Mi-chan, congratulations! Is that why you treated me food to celebrate your success?" Jihyo wiggled her brows. Mina laughed. "Our success." Mina clarified, making Jihyo blush and smile. "Yeah. Our success." "Actually, you're right. But that's one of the three reasons why I treated you." Mina said, a serious expression can be seen on her pretty face. "What's the second reason?" "I'm gonna head back home." Mina sighed. "And?" Jihyo's smile dropped. "We're probably not going to see each other again because my family are going to Korea next week." "Oh." "Yeah." "So um why are you guys going to Korea? It's the second week of July already." Jihyo finished her crêpe and threw the wrapper on a nearby trash can. "We're going to stay with our relatives since they have been here for the past two weeks of July. So vice versa, I think?" Mina tilted her head, not knowing her action killed Jihyo's heart from cuteness. "Ah." Jihyo casted her eyes down. "Please don't be sad, Ji." Mina's cute voice told her companion. "I mean it's normal to be sad though." Jihyo shrugged slightly. Mina sighed and faced the shorter. "Do you know what's the third reason why I treated you, Ji?" Jihyo faced the younger and damn, she's been blessed by how close she is with a beautiful angel. "No." Jihyo huffed. Mina wrapped her arms around Jihyo. Jihyo widened her eyes and blushed slightly as she hugged her back. "It's because I am truly grateful and appreciative of you. You made me realized that even the most unexpected stranger would help anybody, despite the nationality or status. So thank you, Park Jihyo. I will be forever grateful to you and I will cherish the memory of being your friend even for a short period of time." Mina pulled away and smiled widely, her gums showi
