The yellow shoes rested on the table beside Wooyoung’s bed. He had been staring at them for some time now, remembering how Taeyeon stepped out of his car and walked away without uttering a single word. Behind the shoes lay her black satchel. He felt so stupid not running up to her to return it. He was just so full of himself.

The satchel was beeping a tune. Wooyoung dug inside it and grabbed Taeyeon’s phone. It was ringing.

“H-Hello?” her weak voice sounded.

He missed her so much.

“Taeyeon,” he breathed her name.

He knew she was crying. She was an expert in trying to act all calm, but not to him. Never to him.

“Shh... Baby, stop crying,” he whispered endearingly.

Taeyeon sniffled. “C-can we meet?” she asked with little hesitation.

“Sure. Where do you want to?” he asked her.

“Where are you?” she questioned back.

“In my apartment,” he answered simply.

“Wait for me. I’ll be dropping by,” she stated and hung up, not giving him a chance to even say bye.

Wooyoung waited for her. This was his chance to apologize to her for being the biggest jerk ever. She knew she wouldn’t be able to forgive him that easily, but he’d still persist.

He loved her. All those words of hate that came out of his lips hours ago weren’t from him. It was all from the disappointment and stress he had been building up inside. And then it just bursted. He didn’t really mean those harsh words. Taeyeon was an angel. He could never speak of her like that.

Then there was a frail knock on the door. Wooyoung rushed over, and even stumbled a little from the hurry. He wanted her so badly; to feel her, to hug her, and to kiss her. He opened the door, and there she stood. Her head hung low and she walked in, not saying anything to him, not even a greet. She walked straight to where her belongings were, took them and walked again towards the door.

Wooyoung pulled her back gently. “Where’re you going?” he asked, but Taeyeon avoided his gaze.

“I’m just here to get my stuff back,” she tried smiling.

Wooyoung pulled her to an embrace as he shut the door close behind. “Stay,” he purred in her ear.

Taeyeon felt so confused. She hated him for hurting her last time. But now, her feelings of hatred seemed to have disappeared like thin air. She was actually longing for him, wanting his hands touch every part of her, caress her like a new born, and let his lips mark her as his own.

“Please,” Wooyoung begged and started making light touches with his lips to her ear.

“Don’t,” she pushed him away.

“Why not?” he leaned back, and kissed her cheek.

“You hate me,” she reasoned a stupid reason. She blushed embarrassedly as Wooyoung laughed softly.

“I love you,” he told her as his hands landed on her hips.

“Liar,” she retorted with a cracking voice. She was about to cry.

“I love you, Taeyeon,” he repeated as he tugged tightly at the hem of her shirt.

She seized his tugging hands. “Stop it!” she yelled with slight panic in her tone.
