The pair had sat and been talking for several minutes before one of them brought up the topic, “Kyungsoo, there’s been something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about.” Jongin spoke up after a while, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. “I think it’s pretty obvious already that I like you, but after talking with Baekhyun, I think it would be best for us to slow down a bit and wait until sometime later.. Like next semester to continue any further.” He took in a shallow breath before going on, “I don’t want to make any mistakes that would damage the bond we have. You’re the only person other than Baekhyun that I can put my full trust into and I cannot risk losing you.”

The pause made Jongin anxious and he was going to say something else, but Kyungsoo interrupted, “I feel the same way, Jongin. One hundred percent.” His words were honest and he was glad Jongin said something first. “Next week, once finals are done with, I’m going back home for the break… so I  suppose that will keep us apart, but also give us time to figure out what we want.” Kyungsoo gave the pad of Jongin’s thumb a small peck. “I don’t regret kissing you, I only regret doing it so soon, especially letting it escalate the way it did.”

They ate the rest of their meal in comforting silence; Jongin’s head on Kyungsoo’s shoulder as the older fed him pieces of the food along with playing with his long hair.

Kyungsoo and Jongin saw each other less and less as the school break approached, and soon it was the last day of school. Kyungsoo had his bags already packed with all the things he would need for the three week departure. He was really starting to miss Jongin, or as he would describe it, his other half, not sure of how they would keep in contact if Kyungsoo was out of town. He dialed Baekhyun’s telephone number and awaited an answer, however, when there was none, he decided to just walk to their dorm to see them for a final time and work out a plan of communication. The three had agreed on frequent assisted phone calls along with sending letters back and forth, and so when Kyungsoo got back to his childhood home, he studied up on how to read braille, creating his own braille letters to send to Jongin when he had the chance. They called each other at least twice a week with the help of Baekhyun who had to repeat everything Kyungsoo said to Jongin, then what Jongin replied to Kyungsoo. Things were working out quite well for the two - trio if you count Baekhyun as the middleman.

this is a short chapter because i thought it'd be more fitting to "start the next semester" in chapter 11, so don't worry, its not the end of the story!!
