Day Dreamer & Night Thinker
Dumping Grounds (one-shots)3rd POV
Day Dreamer & Night Thinker
The plaza wasn´t very crowded. It was late Saturday afternoon or early evening and the weather was rather cold than warm. The sunlight was weak and the calmness of the place was making Hyukjae feel as gloomy as ever.
Waiting solemnly in the corner of the plaza, leaning against a lamp post, he was wondering about human existence. Looking up at the radio tower, he felt the calling. Climbing up and without notice throwing himself down and splattering on the plaza. Hyukjae sighed, as if. But for the record he guiltily looked around the plaza if anyone possibly caught him with his dark thoughts. With the corner of his eye he saw a man sitting on a bench and obliviously watching him. Hyukjae felt caught off guard until he realistically realised that the stranger could have no idea what Hyukjae was thinking. Sighing again, the lone suicide continued waiting for his friend.
Donghae came unusually early. He had things to finish but he lazily decided he would work that out later and so he ended up coming before the meeting time with his colleague from work. To kill the boredom, Donghae began looking around until his sight caught a guy handsomely leaning against a lamp in the corner of the plaza. He was obviously waiting for somebody, sometimes he would look up at the radio tower with hazy brown eyes. Donghae couldn´t take his eyes off, he was bored anyway and the guy probably didn´t even know Donghae existed.
When a ringing siren of an ambulance passing by the plaza brought Hyukjae back from his daydreaming, he noticed the man on the bench still watching him. Hyukjae felt slightly nervous under the latter´s stare but didn´t have enough courage to look back or show the stranger a middle finger or something. But then again, maybe this guy was a serial killer and would finally bring Hyukjae to his dreaded demise. Not like Hyukjae wanted to die, no, Hyukjae just didn´t want to live. Living in a void, that would be absolutely perfect.
The man was once again deep in thoughts, it was fascinating Donghae. He couldn´t deny that he had a thing for airheads. Donghae wasn´t the type to ponder about stuff but then again, he was also sort of an insomniac because most ideas would always come up at night. And the best idea that Donghae just thought of was to actually go and speak to the strange man. But maybe later, when there´s more time.
