"An accident occurred at 11 pm last night at .. involving a car driver and a female pedestrian. No death was reported, and the two victims were safely taken to the hospital for further treatment."

"Honey? What happened?"

Mr. Jung immediately changed the TV channel upon hearing his wife's voice.

Due to curiosity, Mrs. Jung walked out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe. But all she saw was her husband watching an action movie while lying on the bed.

"Honey?"

Mr. Jung turned his head to his wife. "Hmm?"

"Did I hear wrong?"

"Hear what?"

"About an accident occurred.. in the area where my daughter lived?"

Mr. Jung took a complete three seconds before he finally answered. With a lie. "Stop thinking too much, honey, it's clearly from that movie." He pointed to the TV while holding the remote control.

"Are you sure?" Mrs. Jung asked for certainty.

"Hmm... just go and take a bath. I'm sleepy." Mr. Jung turned off the TV and turned his body around. He sighed.

Taeyeon opened her heavy eyelids and saw a doctor standing in front of her, trying to wake her up since earlier.

"Taeyeon, your–" The male doctor known as Mr. Lee was unable to finish his words when Taeyeon abruptly grabbed his collar.

"What happened? Where is she? Is everything okay? Tell me! What happened to her?" Taeyeon was not able to control her emotions and endlessly throwed questions by shouting at the doctor.

"Calm down, Taeyeon! Calm down! Your wife is in a good condition. There's no serious injury, everything is fine. Please calm down."

"My... wife?" Taeyeon mumbled as she loosened her grips. She diverted her eyes toward an emergency ward just behind the doctor and without wasting time, she barged into the room where she saw Jessica lying unconscious on a bed with a bandage around her head.

It broke her heart seeing her wife in that pathetic condition due to their own ignorance. And it hurt her even more to see her risking her life for her when all she did was treating her badly and gave her pain.

Taeyeon gathered her courage to come forward and sat on the chair next to the bed. Indeed, it hurt her to see Jessica like that but for some reason, she couldn't take her eyes off her.

"You fool..." began to ache as she mumbled the hurtful words. A second later, tears rolled down her cheeks as if it had become a habit for her to cry in front of her.

"Why are you still here?"

"Didn't I tell you to stop?"

"Why didn't you listen to me?"

"Are you really a fool?"

"Answer me, you fool. Answer me..."

Taeyeon buried her face on Jessica's arm, sobbing even more loudly.

"Why are you not answering me?"

"Answer me... Speak to me..."

"Don't pretend like you can't hear me."

"Stop hurting me even more. Please..."

"It hurts..."

And for the first time, Taeyeon held her wife's hand on her own will, without being asked to.

She held on it tightly.

Not because of sympathy nor regret for causing the accident, but because she wanted to since the moment she was able to feel that one beautiful feeling.

The serenity.

Jessica gave her the chance to feel the serenity even though it just for a moment.

Walking alone through the hallway with two boxes of food and a mineral water inside a plastic bag in her hand, Taeyeon made her way back to the ward where Jessica was. And apparently, she did not really know the reason she bought two boxes of food.

Was it because she wanted Jessica to eat a lot so that she can recover as soon as possible? Or because she wanted to eat with her?

Sighed.

Taeyeon opened the door. To her surprise, Krystal and Tiffany were already there, accompanying the still unconscious Jessica.

As soon as she made eye contact with Krystal, the younger girl stood up and approached her with eyes filled with anger.

"You... you jerk!" Krystal walked up slowly but then she instantly changed into a beast as she grabbed Taeyeon by her collar. She roughly pushed her out of the room and against the wall just in front of her sister's ward.

"Krystal! Don't!" Tiffany tried to break free Taeyeon from the younger girl's grip but she was not strong enough to stop Krystal.

"You ing ! How many times do I have to tell you to stop hurting her?! Huh?!" Krystal yelled her heart out.

Taeyeon kept shut, enduring the pain on her back and neck while still holding tightly on the plastic bag.

"What exactly is your problem?!"

"Why are you doing this to her?!"

"What did she do wrong?! What?! Tell me! What?!"

Due to the loud noise, some nurses showed up at the scene and with difficulty, they managed to separate Krystal from Taeyeon.

Krystal roughly freed herself from Tiffany and the nurses. She bit her lip and started crying while glaring at Taeyeon, who had her head down to hide her teary eyes.

"You..." Krystal spoke again with a trembling voice, but the words she wanted to say would not come out of . And no matter how much she wanted to speak them out, she just can't.

In the end, she did not say anything and left with tears.

Tiffany stared at Taeyeon and sighed before she decided to go after Krystal. "Krystal, wait!"

As soon as everyone left the scene, Taeyeon eventually broke down and sobbed. She put down the plastic bag as she buried her face on her knees.

"Why..."

"Why are you doing this to me..."

"What... What did I do so wrong..."

"Why..."

Taeyeon pushed the door open. As soon as she came in, Ginger ran towards her and she greeted him with a hug as she squatted down on the floor.

"I'm home." She said as she looked deeply into Ginger's eyes. There was sadness in his eyes as if he knew everything that she really wanted to say.

Sometimes she wondered if there were people who have something they want to say out loud, but just can't. Just like how she felt at the moment.

And even if she could, who would be understanding enough to hear her?

Who was enough willing to listen to what she had to say in order to feel the real, eternal serenity?

Who was willing enough to see and hear her cries all nights and days?

Who was willing enough to hug her from the time she closed her eyes until she woke up from the nightmares?

There were none. She believed none.

Again, tears flowed out. Ginger immediately the tears off her cheek.

"Hey..." Taeyeon moved her head back, chuckling painfully. "Don't do that..." She smiled faintly as she put him down. After that, she wiped her tear with the back of her thumbs. "I'm tired..."

She meant that she was too tired to play, but for some reason, the words were too painful to her.

Yes, it was true.

She was tired.

Tired of everything.

There was nothing that can relieve the tiredness.

And she wondered if sleep forever can solve everything.

She lived each day without a reason to live anyway.

And she was alive because she can't die.

So, why should she wait and wonder?

Again...

There was no answer for that.

"Taeyeon? Are you there?

"It's me, Tiffany."

"Open the door please."

Tiffany repeatedly pressed the doorbell while shouting for Taeyeon to come out but got no response from within.

In the end, she just opened the door without waiting for permission. As soon as she walked in the house, she spotted Taeyeon on the couch where Jessica would have spent her night on.

Taeyeon was sleeping with her arms crossed over her chest and there were constant shivers all over her body.

Tiffany unintentionally glanced at the coffee table and noticed two boxes of food and a mineral water in a transparent plastic bag. It did not bother her too much but it did remind her of the same thing that Taeyeon brought to the hospital the other day.

"Taeyeon?" Tiffany dropped her bag on the floor as she slowly got down on her knees beside the couch, facing Taeyeon.

When she almost lost in her own thoughts, she shook her head slightly and exhaled deeply. Her hand slowly reached over and touched Taeyeon's forehead.

It was hot, and her sweat was cold. "Oh God." Tiffany rushed to the kitchen and soaked her handkerchief with water.

When she came back to the living room, she grabbed a blanket from the other couch. Afterward, she unfurled the blanket and covered Taeyeon's body with it. She then sat beside Taeyeon on the couch, and then she carefully laid the handkerchief over the latter's forehead.

"I hope... this thing helps. And I'm sure it helps." Tiffany's mouth curved into a smile, flashing the bitter feelings that she was feeling.

"Because... it's yours."

"My heart is yours, Taeyeon."

"You know that, right?"

"But..." Tiffany's eyes teared up. "They say it's wrong."

Tears eventually left her eyes and she had no intention to stop them although it was painful. She kept her gaze on Taeyeon.

"And they blame me for doing that."

"But... I won't blame you for doing this to me." Tiffany placed her hand on the side of Taeyeon's face and caressed her cheek with her thumb. "Because..." She slowly leaned over. "It's still nice to be able to feel the love, Taeyeon." She planted a deep kiss on Taeyeon's cheek instead of her lips although that was what she wanted to do the most.
