I see him cry in the rain,

Just sitting there,

His heart is at strain,

No goal to go anywhere.

His body is weak and soaked in pain

And the rain is drowning his hair

The weakness gives way to his plumy-purple veins,

He gets up and walks down the wet lane without a care.

His clothes are soaked and stick to his skin

And cold as ice is he,

He thinks rubbish deserves to be in the bin

As he walks straight past me.

His sunflower eyes look me up and down,

I see no sight of glee.

Yet his warming eyes of hazel brown

Tell a different story to me.

Why me?... Why me?... Why me?...

His cheeks are pail with a hint of pink,

But lonely he looks to me.

When described on paper I run out of ink

Even when I think ‘How can this be?’

Because about him there is much more to say

With his blonde hair that looks like gold

But he can’t compare to what I say

Because the truth is yet to be told.

Save me… Save me… Save me…

His vampire like lips curve into an empty smile,

Cracked, bleeding and painful

But the rain washes away the blood a mile

And he looks away shameful.

His helpless tears merge with the rain

That trickles down his face

And he stands there quiet and alone.

Thinking that he’s a disgrace.

Sob… Sob… Sob…

And all you can hear is an echo.
