One hospital, one room, two beds and two very different people. She knits and he watches. Who's she knitting for? And why is she doing so?

Foreword
"I HATE YOU!" Were the last words from her lips... The one that I used to call my lover is no longer by my side...
I walk aimlessly down the street until I stand at the edge of the pavement. Her hurtful words constantly rings in my ears making me unaware of my surroundings... I don't even realise that car swooping down towards me in full speed like a ravenous animal driven mad. I turn my head to a faint beeping sound which soon thunders at my eardrums. The light excessively shines in my face as I pull up my arms in front of my face as a stupid excuse of an attempt to defend myself from the metal machine... The car swerved and I flew. And then everything went blank...
I lie there in bed. Bored. Staring at the white canvas above me I find myself falling half asleep. Nock nock! Came a sudden noise. "Yes?" I call out and the hospital door opens to reveal Mr Huang, my doctor.
"Forgive me ma'am for this disturbance, but there seems to be a an inconvenience... it appears that another hospital patient shall be moving into this room along side you" He bowed.
"Oh? And who is this patient?" I ask, my eyes sparkle. What seemed to be an 'inconvenience' is great news for me. "Tell me, tell me please" I gleam.
"W-well... We have identified the patient to be an 18 year old boy. He had been in a car crash and is seriously injured" he comments.
"Oh my... That's..." I say lost for words "is he alright Doctor?" I ask with my hands over my mouth.
"He's still under examination but you mustn't worry ma'am, you know that it can be really harmful to your heart..." He worries.
I stay silent. "Doctor... Can you please pass me that bag?" I ask as I point towards a blue plastic bag seated on a chair opposite my bed.
"Yes ma'am" Mr Huang replies calmly as he retreives what I had asked. I open it up and pull out a pair of knitting needles. "Now which colour shall I choose?" I question as my eyes wonders over the countless balls of wool.
