heya, coming at you guys with dkml's first teaser! i've had this scene in drafts ever since i first started creating this story and the debate has always been - do i use it as a teaser or as an actual scene in the story? and well... obviously you can see my decision ツ i don't really know what the writing style for this teaser is haha lowkey just a meme but i hope this gives you guys inspiration as you work on your characters and answers any of the questions you guys might have about the choi's magick!! also pls publish any wips if you have bc i want to spy (￣▽￣*)ゞ and remember to check the story feed for any updates!!

setting the scene...
imagine a world in which the choi family is found out. imagine a summer rotation of employees so nosy and so invasive that the long kept secret has almost no choice but to reveal itself. or imagine it's all just plain luck and coincidence. either way, imagine the choi siblings having to sit down this season's staff and explain just about everything there is to their magic, satiating all curiousity and dumb questions. canon's away! the scene !
JM: alright kiddos, listen up. due to insanely high demand, dkml's head staff has decided to hold a boot camp for you incompetent individuals.
E1: i don't remember asking for this
E2: yeah, what high demand?
JM: high demand from us bc yall dumb ok
JM: anyways
JM: where do yall want me to start
E3: um, what should we call you guys?
JM: your lord and savior would be just fine
E4: jamong, shut the f-
E2: are you guys...wizards?
E5: is this hogwarts???
JD: well, technically yes, technically no.
E5: this is hogwarts??!!!!!!??1!
JD: no, i- no. the wizard thing. officially, we're witches, since the abilities emerged in a low-profile matriarchal society-
E1: yeah, go women!
JD: yes. but they're all rather...ancient terms, so...no one really uses them anymore.
E6: then what do you tell people you are?
JM: ...well, we try nO t to dO thA t
E6: so then what are the...extents of your guys' abilities?
JM: alright, here, let me- let me write this on the board. here..."magick 101". ok, now-
E3: magick? with a k? i thought it was just with a c
JM: well, yeah, that's true, too, it's just...the k makes it look cooler
E1: are you foreal
JD: he's ,, not totally wrong. back then, spelling had a lot more significance, so there was a distinction between magick and magic, but these days that meaning has ceased to matter as much.
E2: what is that distinction though?
JM: well, without the k, it typically referred to things like shows, tricks - things used solely for entertainment, but with the k has a lot more religious context and pretty much meant utilizing natural forces to cause actual change aligned with one's will.
E4: damn, did jamong just sound smart?
JM: better know it, punk
E1: so do you guys have, like...wands or something?
E6: yeah, where does the magic come from?
E5: you guys have WANDS??? is this-
JD: no, it's not hogwarts. the magick runs through the bloodline, so we don't need physical manifestations of our abilities.
JM: though i guess technically our bodies are the physical manifestations...whoa, are we being objectified??
ALL: shut up, jamong
JD: with that being the case, there's really not much to the execution.
JM: yeah, all it really needs is a little concentration and the wiggle of a finger. spells, which are typically things like two-word phrases or couplet incantations, are pretty much optional. and if you guys haven't noticed, we refrain from using them around you.
E2: whaaaat, no fair, let us in on the fun!
E3: yeah, let's get a demonstration!
JM: you needy, needy people. fine, wingardium leviosa.
E5: rEALLY????? no way, what did you levita- did you- was that- i...nothing happened, huh...
JD: jamong, stop fEe Di N G that asSu MpTi oN you're gonna break their hearts
E1: wait, you said it runs through the bloodline, right?
JD: yes
E1: so does that mean...there are other chois in korea with magick?
JD: well...yes.
JM: yall know sumn bout choi jiwoo
E4: CHOI FRKN JIWOO IS A WITCH??!?11?!
E3: that makes...so much sense...no wonder i can never take my eyes off of her...
JD: jamong, shut up! god...you guys know you can not let this slip, any of this, understand? if anyone outside of this room gives any hint of knowing our secret, i will hunt down and interrogate every single one of you and not hesitate to eliminate you...r memories. of us. of all of this. got that?
ALL: y- yes...
JD: good. now disperse.
E2: wow...to think there's a whole other world of...of magic and spells and witches and...and it's right in front of our eyes!
E5: ooh, do you guys have like balls and stuff where everyone flies in on brooms and dresses change color?
JM: the hell do you think we're running here, a hocus pocus remake?
E5: no, more like-
JD: for the last time, this is not hogwarts.
