Years of freelancing had made Sejeong a bit more sceptical and a whole lot smarter. It wasn’t typical to find a lone agent, especially one that looked like her- a pretty face with a seemingly empty head. She did use this to her advantage though; the number of people that had underestimated her and let their guard down allowed her to solve cases in a matter of days and sometimes, even hours.

Sejeong considered herself far from stupid; her head was getting too big from her cleverness, and definitely her conceitedness. Still, it was this wariness and rather on point deduction skills that held her back from ripping open the large manila envelope that sat forlornly in her mailbox. Clients definitely knew how to contact her, and it definitely wasn’t shoving a huge mysterious envelope into her mailbox. Plus the lack of any addresses on the envelope itself made this entire situation even fishier that it was.

Sejeong pulled the envelope out cautiously as she braced herself, tucking her hair behind her ear. Besides being smarter and more sceptical, being a freelance agent also taught her to be more courageous, and that was what she banked on as she ripped the wax seal ‘B’ that was keeping the envelope shut. The envelope was thick and rather weighty as Sejeong peered into it, not surprised to find a few stacks of paper. She didn’t think twice to pull the documents out, and had almost dropped them onto the tiled floor when she realised what the contents were.

Sejeong flipped through the binder frantically as she realised it was a documentation of her entire life, from all the cases she had worked on, to the schools she had attended and even to the hospital she was born in. She gulped uncomfortably at the thought of someone knowing all the minute details to the gigantic milestones in her life, as she peered deeper into the manila envelope, trying to find more answers. It wasn’t comforting at all even though she had her information in her hands- what if someone was going to use all these as a leverage on her? She grimaced even further when she was struck with the thought that this mystery person or people would definitely have knowledge on her less-than-perfect parents.

A tiny card no bigger than the size of the girl’s palm was fished out of the envelope- the only lead that Sejeong could get on her stalker? New client? Nemesis? She didn’t know.

Sejeong scratched her head as she flipped to the back of the card, detailing the location, date and time. This was to be for tomorrow, and Sejeong’s curiosity grew as she whipped out her phone and punched in the address, realising that it was an enormous building right in the center of the city. Her eyes shone- was her client rich as heck?

Stuffing the documents and card back into the manila envelope, Sejeong entered her house, ready for a nap and to begin working on her game plan.

Sehun wasn’t one for dramatics, so when the 'thief' that he had been chasing turned out to be some sort of messenger and a huge farce, Sehun had to consciously remind himself not to sock the guy in the face as he passed him a large manila envelope with a sheepish grin.

Sehun was tempted to just dump the entire thing in the trashcan as he watched the ‘thief’ turn the corner and disappear, but thought better of it when he came to realise the apparent importance of the documents in his hand through the theatrics that were pulled in order to pass them to him. He thought that his mood could not get any fouler, but it did, when he ripped the envelope open to find all his track records, information and achievements. He was seething. It didn’t help as well, that the tiny card that came with his information was so vague and infuriating; Sehun was tempted to just shred the entire thing there and there.

He whipped out his phone, needing answers before this ‘B’ could give it to him. So many things were going through his head, from that nameless messenger, to the compilation of his life in one folder, and even the little card that came with. He had therefore felt like flinging himself into the oncoming traffic when his assistant’s number miraculously did not exist, despite just having a conversation with him 30 minutes ago.

Sehun needed answers desperately and he finally realised that the only way was to concede to that tiny card that was crumpled in his fist, and head to the city the first thing tomorrow. He knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep with all these thoughts running through his head, so he turned the corner and entered the bar down the street.

Sejeong readjusted her coat as she stood before the looming building. For someone usually so confident and full of herself, she felt rather small and vulnerable with each step that she took towards the entrance of the building. The adrenaline building up in her made her hyperaware, to the clicking of her heeled boots on the marbled floor, to the one, two, three beads of sweat that slid down her temple, and the increasing tempo of her beating heart.

Still, she managed to pull off a facade of utter calm and dignity as she headed to the service counter and slid the card over to the lady that greeted her with a warm smile. The lobby of the building had high ceilings and white-washed walls. Sejeong had initially thought it to be an office building, but when she was met with the sparse and rather empty lobby, she couldn’t help but feel a little more uncomfortable with this meeting.

The lady’s smile never faltered as the took the card and produced a thin, black metal plate of a similar size. Sejeong couldn’t hide her piqued curiosity as she turned the cool metal in her palm. It was extremely light and had the
