With the sound of the alarm, Yoona woke up. She washed herself and went downstairs to have breakfast.

“How come you didn’t shout last night?”

“I didn’t dream last night.”

After having breakfast, Yoona went out and saw Lee Byung Hun waiting for her in front of her house.

“Oh! Arjussi!”

“There will be traffic jam here. Let’s enter the limbo world.” He used the summoning scroll and they got straight to the demon training centre at the US National Stadium.

Lee Byung Hun gave Yoona the sword with the round handle and curved tip, the one she was looking at the day before.

“This is your father’s sword. You will be able to use it well.”

“Wow! Cool!!” Yoona held the sword.

Lee Byung Hun jumped onto one of the stadium seats. The cage in front of Yoona opened and an ape-like creature with scales came out of the cage. Yoona was scared.

“What is that, Arjussi?”

“A butcher.”

“I’m not asking that. What am I supposed to do with that? Why did you go up there?”

“You have to deal with it alone by yourself. I showed you how to slay a butcher in your ninth dream.”

“How could I remember that?”

“You do.”

The butcher ran towards Yoona, trying to hit her with its shoulder. Yoona was running around the stadium. She ran to the wall and suddenly turned left, causing the creature to crash into the wall. It fell down with a loud crash.

As Yoona tightened her grip on the sword, it grew for about four feet, but it surprisingly didn’t feel heavy for Yoona.

She stabbed the butcher in the face and the scales were cut off. The butcher stood up again and cover Yoona’s strikes with its hand. Immediately, it swung its other hand, holding a flail, to hit Yoona. Yoona jumped and fell right behind the butcher.

Yoona was surprised at herself, too. “Wow! How do I know how to do these things?”

The scales of the butcher which were cut off grew back and it ran towards Yoona. She stabbed it again. The process of stabbing and scales regrowing happened for a couple times more.

“Arjussi! How do I kill this thing? Are you sure it is mortal?”

“You know how! Think!”

The butcher finally succeeded in hitting Yoona and shoved her away. Her sword was also out of sight. The butcher was waiting for its scales to grow again. Yoona got up using that moment.

‘I already know how to kill it.’  The contents of her dreams appeared one by one.

‘I got it! To kill a butcher, one has to attack the junction of the butcher’s back and its waist where there is no scales!’

The butcher was ready to fight once more.

“Arjussi, give me your gun!”

“What are you gonna do with it?”

“Just give me!!”

Yoona caught the gun that Lee Byung Hun threw and jumped onto the butcher that was coming at her. While she was still in the air, she shouted, “RPG!”

By the time she fell onto the butcher’s back, she said, “Bye, little ogre,” and pulled the trigger of the RPG. The bullet hit accurately the space between the butcher’s back and waist. The creature exploded. Smoke took over the whole area, with pieces of flesh and scales from the now dead butcher.

Lee Byung Hun came down from the seats. 

 “Not bad. You are quite smart. You might be able to kill the devil.”

“Really?” Yoona asked, returning the gun.

“But only I supporting you is not sufficient.”

“What do you mean?”

The entrance door opened before Lee Byung Hun could say anything. A slim person with white hair, wearing a red suit entered.

“Long time no see, brother.” He greeted Lee Byung Hun.

The latter pat Yoona on the shoulder and said, “This is our master’s heir, nephilim.

The other person seemed thrown off. He approached Yoona. “So you are the nephilim. It’s great to meet you. I’m Amber, I used to serve your father.”

“Oh, I’m Yoona.” She greeted back.

“We need to make a plan to take the devil down.” Lee Byung Hun guided both people into a room. On a table in the room, a chart was placed.

“Those we have to kill are the devil and his seven servants. But there are only two of the servants left because I had already killed the others.”

“Wait. With your skills, killing the remaining two wouldn’t be difficult. Why did you leave them?”

“I did it on purpose, Amber. It would be difficult to let Yoona attack the devil right away. I left those two for her.”

“I think it is better for me to defeat them first before the devil, too.”

“Amber! Since you know about the devil more than I do, let me ask. How is the devil doing?”

“As far as I know, the devil is in his original body, Kim Young Min. I don’t know where he is though.”

“Location doesn’t matter. We will know where the devil is after we’ve taken down the other two.”

“And Kim Young Min knows that the eight planets are aligning soon. I’m sure he has made protections. We need to get Yoona well-prepared.” Amber said.

“Don’t worry about that. I showed her how to slay all existing demons in her dream.”

“What?! I am not even sure if I remember them all. What if I don’t?”

“Nah. I know for sure that you do. Lee Byung Hun is the best at teaching such things.” Amber reassured.

“Tell her. Tell her.” Lee Byung Hun pointed at a square on the chart which had not been crossed out and said, “The one we are going after is Karakken. He is at New York Harbour.

“And where is the other one?” Yoona asked.

“Park Jae Sang. That guy.”

“I know him! Isn’t he that announcer guy? The chubby one?”

“Yes, it’s him.”

“How come he is a demon?”

“Why don’t you go ask him yourself? All you need to know is that he is not a normal demon.”

“Are we using rocs to attack the Karakken?” asked Amber.

“We might need them. Go get them, Amber.”

“Okay.” Amber went to get the birds.

Yoona was looking at Amber until the latter left.

“He looks somewhat strange…”

“It’s a she.”

“Oh, she lo- wait! Amber is a woman?!”

“Yes. She is a female but born as a demon. The environment changed her.”

“How did you guys get to know?”

“We served your father. When he got killed, I escaped to heaven. She could not. She was in limbo.”

“Didn’t that Kim guy, the devil do anything to her?”

“He tortured her to death, but she tolerated his tortures. You won’t want to know how. Anyway, that’s why she wants to kill the devil bad.”

They heard noises from outside just then.

“I think they are ready. Let’s go.” Lee Byung Hun said.

Outside, they saw two birds as high as about twenty feet tall with bodies of colour pearl white. On each roc’s back was a saddle. Amber had already mounted on one.

“They have grown so much.” Amber said, feeling a bit nostalgic.

“You sit behind me,” said Lee Byung Hun.

“Okay.” Both Yoona and Lee Byung Hun climbed onto it.

“Ready? Let’s get goin-”

*Riiiiiiing*

“What’s that?”

“It’s my phone ringing. Wait a minute.” Yoona took out her phone and checked. “It’s Boram. I can’t believe there is cell signal in limbo world.”

“This might be limbo world, but you are still in New York. Go on. You can take the call.”

“Hello?”

“Yahh!! Why did you take a day off? Why today out of all days? How could you leave me alone with all these work?”

“I’m sorry, Boram. A really urgent thing came up. I’m really sorry.”

“An urgent thing what?”

“Um… err… that’s… I’ll tell you when I see you tomorrow.”

“Yah! I’m your best friend. Are you perhaps on a date?”

“No!!! Of course not. I’ll tell you tomorrow.”

Yoona hung up. “Whew… that shortie. What is going to happen tomorrow, Arjussi?”

“I don’t know. It depends on whether the devil dies today or not. Hold on tight. We’re going.”

Lee Byung Hun pulled the harness and the roc spread its wings and began to fly. Flapping its wings slowly at first, it later gained speed and rose from the ground. Eventually they were up in the air, flying towards the sky, as if nothing terrible was going to happen soon.

“Next stop, New York Harbour.” Lee Byung Hun said.
