Nobody noticed Nayeon’s change. Literally nobody, including the girl she loved more than herself, Myoui Mina.

Nayeon brushed Mina’s hair off her forehead, kissing it tenderly to wake up the younger. The younger which happened to sleep on top of her on the couch, being so tired after a movie marathon.

“Hmmm” mina opened her eyes slowly , yawning while tucking her face back on the crook of Nayeon’s neck. “Wakey wakey...” nayeon smiled towards the younger, slightly shaking the younger’s shoulder

“I’m still sleepy..” mina whined, hugging the older tightly. Nayeon fixed Mina’s shirt because it’s rolling way to up until it exposed her stomach and her back

Mina didn’t seem to bother her lover’s doings to wake her, she wanted to stay like that for a bit longer. “Mitang, it’s 6 o’clock. I need to get ready. It’s my graduation day right?”

Mina lifted her face to see nayeon “6? No wonder I feel so tired. Right, graduation d-day” mina spoke trying hard not to yawn “we need to get a picture right? Come on~~”

“Come on.” Mina get herself off from Nayeon

“Y-yah.” Nayeon pouted when mina is being too caring

“Just a little bit more. You really look good in a suit.” Mina continued to fix Nayeon’s tie

“You ready, nabongs?” Jeongyeon fixed her graduation gown and her graduation cap

“After this, i can eat jokbal whenever i want!” Momo raised her hands to the air, waving it like there’s a wild party

“You guys maybe late, but you will take your turn next year. Don’t drop out, we studied this far!” Sana blabbered making the others roll their eyes

Mina, which happened to be the young dean of Nayeon, momo, sana and jihyo’s medical course had to participate in the ceremony. She had to wear a robe too, standing beside the Professor when they are giving the certificates to the graduators.

Sehun scoffed, signaling mina that it’s time to start the graduation ceremony.

“I would like to invite, Im Nayeon, the best student, to deliver her speech.”

Nayeon cleared and went up to the stage. She had a small paper in her palm, the notes for her speech of course.

“I’m very thankful because given this opportunity to speak. All these years we’ve been together, it was the best experience in my entire life . Thank you for that. Graduating doesn’t mean we are done from learning. But it’s actually another start to learn new things, and met a few new special people.” Nayeon glanced at mina, smiling.

“Some of us found our loved ones, some don’t . Well you won’t find it if you stayed at home and play counterstrike, so,” the audience laughed

“But that wasn’t the point. The point is , all of these bittersweet memories I’ve gone through, it was beautiful, because I’m with someone i love. She’s right here. She’s one in a million. I chose her over seven billion people in this world. And she’s the one. I can’t promise that I’ll stay, though.” She continued

The audience gasped in shock

“Because I’ll be permanently with her. I don’t believe in the word stay, because the word leave, is waiting upon it.”

“And it’s you.” Nayeon pulled Mina’s hand making her to stand up

Nayeon smiled as she encircled her arms around Mina’s waist and pulled their bodies closer. The two automatically tilted their heads for a sweet kiss.

The audience whistled, some laughed, some cheered, and godjihyo, took their picture while others busy watching them kissing.

[2 years later]

Nayeon went home around 3am, her lips were pale and her eyes were sore. She opened the door slowly, trying not to wake Mina up.

But she was wrong.

Mina was standing right in front of her, crossing her arms.

“Where were you?”
“Sorry. My bad.” Nayeon chuckled bitterly
“Have you been drinking?”
“No, smell my breath.”
“Listen, i have early class tomorrow and you’re giving me headaches. You always come home late and you didn’t pay attention to me. What is going on, nayeon?”

Nayeon sighed, walking towards the bedroom “at least I’m not cheating, just like you and Chaeyoung.”

“Why are you like this? What’s your point? To make me hate you? Because it’s working, nayeon.”

Nayeon turned her body, quickly ed the two first buttons of Mina’s pyjama

“What’s this?” Nayeon pointed out the fresh purplish marks on her collarbone

“Explain this.” Nayeon roll up Mina’s shirt, revealing some bite marks on the side of her abdomen

“Listen. I’m tired, you’re tired, let’s just sleep, okay?”

Mina stormed into their shared bedroom slightly leaving the door apart

“Guess I’m taking the couch, again.” Nayeon sighed, walking to the kitchen to get some milk

The thunder and loud storms from the rain making nayeon groan, covering her ears using the cushion

There were a slight faint different voice, was Mina’s crying.

Nayeon stood up and limped into the bedroom, laying beside mina. Gladly, she was welcomed by mina, hugging her tightly.

Mina was afraid of thunderstorms.

The weight on her chest was a lot familiar, but she doesn’t feel it very often nowadays.

Nayeon was back at 3am from somewhere, again.

She covered her ears again,

Because her girlfriend was ,

Because of someone else.

The sound of naughty voices, the headboard slamming rapidly, grunts, groans, bittersweet cries,

Nayeon was hurt.

But she doesn’t mind anymore.

It’s time to let mina go.

Nayeon did notice her body was getting a lot weaker, she decided to take late night treatments in a government hospital, because it’s cheaper, and there’s a lot of people.

She decided to tell Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung would care mina as much as she would. And nayeon hoped that Chaeyoung is the perfect replacement.

That’s why Nayeon didn’t complain.

Her goals is to heal kids with cancers, but because of her unsatisfying health, she decided to donate her organs. She has a brain cancer, she’s running out of time and it’s time for her to go.

Nayeon waited patiently at the park’s bench. Finally her lover arrived.

Nayeon smiled sincerely, “Let’s break up.”

Mina raised her eyebrows, “what??”

“If you stay longer, you’ll be hurt.”

“I bet.” Mina clicked her tongue

“Goodbye.” Nayeon smiled

It was the last day.
The last day for nayeon.
She did told mina to come,
But she didn’t appear,
Even though Chaeyoung was there.

She was sitting on the rooftop with Jeongyeon, and the gang, sharing soju.

She told Jeongyeon and the others how much she loved mina, how good her life was, how much she loved her friends,

They were just like university students again.

But in one moment,
Nayeon cried on Jeongyeon’s shoulder, while the others surrounded her, hugging them both.

Nayeon glad she released her last breath on her friend’s arms.

By the time mina arrived,

“Sorry. A student sent her assignment after the deadline i had to take care of it.” Mina furrowed her eyebrows, seeing her friends crying for nayeon who is lying her head on Jeongyeon’s lap.

Jeongyeon brushed her thumb on Nayeon’s cold cheek, because her tears kept falling on Nayeon’s skin.

She’s gone,
Regrets won’t fix anything.
Mina realised how valuable Nayeon is,
When she’s finally gone.

To the Im Nayeon I knew,
I’m sorry.
I, Myoui Mina,
Will keep you as one of my best memories.
