Chapter 3
Charmer in the Darkness
It has been two days since the talk on Chanyeol and Hyemin’ s marriage and these two days, a lot happened. Chanyeol tried to discreetly wash his ruined hanbok and it was going well until his mom caught him red-handed when he was stitching up the torn fabric. He was way too concentrated with the task in hand that he didn’t even hear his mom’s footsteps in his room.
So, because of the punishment he received, he is now standing in front of a vendor asking for vegetables. He stood there tapping his feet on the earth and looked around bored, as he waited for the vendor to show up with the vegetables he asked for. After this he needs to go to the butcher and get meat and then go to the tailor to collect something his mom has given and then drop the heavy parcel he has in his right hand to the old lady who lives near the temple.

Being shocked, he turns to his right to see Hyemin pulling him in a secluded place. “Hyemin, I need to give these to my mother. Can you give me a few minutes?” he tells her frustratingly but gets annoyed when the young lady chose to ignore what he just said. When they were finally away from the crowd and in an alleyway where little to no one was there, except for the windows of the houses, Hyemin suddenly hugged him and started sobbing,
“Chanyeol, take me away. Please. My dad h-he,” she broke down and hugged him tighter, “he wants me to marry this old man who is not good.”
He patted her shoulder and pushed her a little away so he can look at her face, only to be met by bloodshot eyes and tear stained cheeks, “come on, don’t cry,”
“He came yesterday and he was looking at me with such a disgusting smile, I’ll be better off with you, Chanyeol.” she wiped her face with the sleeves of her pink hanbok and looked at Chanyeol with pleading eyes. “please.”
“W-we can’t do that, Hyemin,” he tries to make her understand. “I can’t. You are my friend.” he shook his head as he looked down to avoid his friend's tearful eyes.
“So you will be fine if that ol
