Jaehyun drives Doyoung back to his house,as they were driving Doyoung explained that during the talk Taeyong apologizes for throwing coffee to Doyoung’s face. Doyoung continues that he also apologizes to Taeyong for saying things that is offensive to him, that it was not his intention to be so.

“Yeah, Taeyong is a really cool person and we decided to still stay in touch and forget the whole things even happened” Doyoung says as Jaehyun is stopping in front of Doyoung’s house

“See, I told you, he’s cool with it”

“Yeah yeah whatever, besides you need me to stay friends with Taeyong so I can stop him third wheeling you and her” Doyoung laughs as Jaehyun is just staring at him seemingly in shock

“W-what do you mean third wheeling...we’re no-”

“I know you’re not - yet - I’m not dumb, you like that girl”

“That’s nonsense” Jaehyun tries to laugh it off

“Nonsense is going to the library everyday after school even though you hated that place. Hell, not even the library you hated the whole school! Nonsense is being jealous of my relationship with Taeyong but then you’re suddenly okay with him after knowing he is gay. Nonsense is your dumb face whenever you see that girl. Nonsense is this...this romantic lyric you wrote for the song, sounding almost as if you experienced it yourself. That’s nonsense” Doyoung stares at Jaehyun who is just staring ahead trying to digest everything that Doyoung just said

“I……..yeah”

“Just, say it to her, she’s coming next week right?”

“I don’t know how, I mean what if she doesn’t feel that way about me? Do you think she likes me? Or does Taeyong know about this and she knew already too?” Jaehyun sighs

“I honestly don’t know if Taeyong knows or any answers to your other questions. But, okay, say she knew that you like her, I don’t feel her attitude towards you changes today , if anything she looks happier...dude don’t smile just yet!! we don’t know if she feels the same way. From what I see, she feels comfortable around you, but you know her better than me. So I will just say this. Use your better judgement on this. Tell her if you feel like it is the right thing to do. PERSONALLY, I think you should say it, but you know, do whatever you think is right” Doyoung says

“Doyoung, you talk a lot”

“Shut up, I’m trying to help you” Doyoung hits Jaehyun’s arm making him wince in pain

“Okay okay, I think you’re right...I’ll tell her next week... I don’t know how though, I’m scared”

“Man, if anything she should be scared not you” Doyoung teases “Just think it through, you got like... a week to think of the way to do it”

“Hey...Thanks..for….you know, everything, I never said it but you’re a really good friend to me” Jaehyun says as Doyoung is opening the door about to walk out

“Ew, weird, do I need to reject two men now instead of one”

“Okay you can go” Jaehyun points out gesturing Doyoung to get out of his car which Doyoung only responds with a laugh

As Jaehyun is driving home he thinks about everything that Doyoung said. He’s doing a calculation in his mind about the probability of what could happen. How would she react? Feels? Will she be happy? Or would she stay away from him? As he got home, he goes straight to his bedroom to sleep but then he checks his phone just to receive a text from her

‘Jaehyun, thank you for inviting me today, I really have a good time. You sound beautiful when you’re singing and I can’t wait until your performance next week. Goodnight’

The text does put a huge smile on his face. Jaehyun just lays down on his bed while rereading the text before he writes a reply to her

‘I’m really glad you have a good time, I really enjoyed tonight too. I will do my best for the performance next week and I hope you’ll like it. Goodnight, sleep well’ Jaehyun write and carefully checking the text before pressing send then go to sleep.

“Hey, guess who texted me last night” Jaehyun smiles at Doyoung the next day he meets him on campus

“Is the number 1-800-DO-I-CARE” Doyoung still having his eyes on his Nintendo Switch

“Can you at least pretend to care, I’m really happy right now”

“Okay sweetie, oh my god did she texted you?” Doyoung puts his Switch down and rest his chin on top of both of his hand, which Jaehyun replies with a disgusted stare and he says ‘whatever’ and pretended to leave Doyoung

“I was kidding, I don’t even know you got her number. For real though, you’re so weird like this, I’ve never seen you so……..Excited about a person before, glad to see you’re capable of having those kind of emotion at least” Doyoung looks to Jaehyun before picking up his Switch again

“I’m not sure too, something about her really captivates me. She’s just, really honest and real” Jaehyun sighs, Doyoung squint his eyes at the sight of his friend

“Okay enough of this. You’re coming to my house after school right? We got to record some finishing touches for the song” Doyoung says

“Yeah, it’s just the bridge and last chorus left right? I finally got the lyric down”

“Okay cool, I----- gotta go to class right now, I’ll see you later after school?”

“Yep, see you”
