Seulgi was a sophomore when she first saw Miss Bae. She vividly remembered the ‘new’ teacher that’s been buzzing within the school. Words spread over how beautiful and young said teacher was – a freshly graduated student they said. Seulgi first saw her during the morning when she was about to head to class and Miss Bae walked right past her but she was so stricken by her beauty, everything seems to moved slowly. Soon, almost half of the entire students in the school had a major crush on her and Seulgi wouldn’t say she was one of them. At that time, she was more towards being awestruck on how a person could look that gorgeous. Seulgi always took the chance to walk slower whenever she spotted Miss Bae standing at the door of her classroom, waiting for her students to enter and she was always mesmerised by how perfect her shiny, black hair flowed past her shoulders, how her eyes twinkled when students greeted her and how her smile showcased her perfect set of white teeth. Miss Bae was – is a walking goddess. “She’s hot, isn’t she?” She recalled her friend Joy, also known as Sooyoung, nudging at her side when she was caught staring at the teacher a second too long that one time. “I hope she teaches our History class someday. God forbids Mr Junmyeon to teach us again for our junior and senior year. I’m gonna flunk it for real if that happens.” Although junior year didn’t happen as the both of them wanted, senior year did and Seulgi was happy. She even did something out of ordinary – like revising on some of the first few chapters that was going to be taught in their class. She doesn’t know why but she felt the need to impress the teacher and gave her a good impression but it didn’t go as planned. She was instead scolded by Miss Bae because she was talking with Sooyoung in a not so lowkey way – but Seulgi gave her best smile towards the frowning teacher before mumbling an apology after that. Soon, like every other student in her school, she too fell for the History teacher. Seulgi knew it was silly but she clearly remembered how her cheeks burned at the praise she received from Miss Bae when she got a full mark for one of the quizzes back then. It happened over the teacher lounge early in the morning when she helped the teacher carry a stack of books. Miss Bae seemed to be surprised at her marks which Seulgi noted on how impressed the teacher sound and since then her ‘crush’ for the said teacher developed and the post-it-notes soon became a norm.   “This is lowkey weird…” Joy said to her back then when Seulgi told her about the post-it-notes she left on Miss Bae’s table. She didn’t plan to tell the girl about it but Joy managed to catch on in the end and Seulgi is a terrible liar.   “What? No it’s not.” Seulgi denied, shaking her head while she munched her fries at a diner they went on a weekend.   “I’ve seen tons of confessions on Miss Bae’s table from chocolates, flowers, boxes of gifts…” Joy counted with her fingers, “…but you’re confessing by sticking notes about random facts on her table? Boring.”   Seulgi sipped her milkshake from the straw before answering, “One, I didn’t confessed to her. Two, it’s not just any random facts and three, I don’t think she finds it boring.”   “How do you know?”   “I was with Jackson helping Mr Park sorting the old files at the Teacher Lounge and I kinda overheard —”   “ – eavesdropping”   “—Miss Yongsun gushing how cute the notes were and Miss Bae agreed!” Seulgi couldn’t help but to smile as she remembered how Miss Bae’s eyes shine and her lips turning upwards when the two teachers were talking about the notes.   So ever since then, she had been consistent in sticking her post-it-notes every morning. Seulgi even made effort to come to school earlier than the teacher, just to stick the notes on her table. She also gave her utmost attention to not just her lesson, but also at Miss Bae herself. Not wanting to be all over her head, but lately at times, she felt like Miss Bae was staring at her. Every time when Seulgi was giving her attention on her task, she would feel eyes on her and when she looked up, it’s either Miss Bae abruptly looked away or they exchanged a small smile. To much of her delight and slight confusion, ever since Seulgi missed out three days of class, thanks to her fever, she’d also noticed how Miss Bae had been rather communicative with her. She would smile at her from time to time, asked her to help sorting some files at the teacher lounge after school and Seulgi even got a lift back home. It was all too sudden. She was still many blocks away from home and when she was waiting to cross the road, the rain poured down hard without a warning. Everyone around her were either scrambling to find a shelter or putting their bags or suitcases above their head and as for her, she decided to find a shelter instead underneath a close fruit store by the roadside. She cursed under her breath as she was soaked from head to toe. A few minutes of waiting and shivering, a familiar black Hyundai car pulled over in front of the store. The window of the front passenger seat went down and it seems that Miss Bae was mouthing something at her– the rain was making it hard for Seulgi to hear but with the frantic hand gestures Miss Bae was doing, she’d knew her teacher wanted her to get in. And so she did.   “I’m sorry, Miss Bae. Your car seat is going to be damp because of me.” She apologised as soon as she entered her car.   “No, no it’s fine.” Her teacher brushes off, casting a concerned glance at her. “You must be really cold. I wish I have a sweatshirt or something to cover you up…”   They fall into silence for a few seconds before Miss Bae asked, “Umm…mind telling me the directions to your house?”   “Ah right!” She almost forgot that she was supposed to be heading back home now, “Umm…take the second turn to the right after the traffic light and just drive straight ahead till we reach a park on the left. You can just drop me off there.”   “Roger that.” Her teacher replied, before looking at her again, “You would want to fasten your seatbelt now Seulgi, or should I do it for you?”   Seulgi quickly look away towards the foggy window, hiding her forming blush as she pulled her seatbelt tight. Again they were in silence, except for the sounds of the rain hitting the car windshield and th
