(Unknown POV)   I could tell that the pictures I sent to Miss Bae is working. It had managed to pulled Seulgi and Miss Bae apart from one another. I could see it in her eyes whenever she walked into the class – it was screaming of fear, and oh how vulnerable she looked. I felt so accomplished at the sight of it. Seulgi was mostly confused the whole week. I could see it written all over her face every time she was being ignored by the History Teacher. She’d probably be wondering why Miss Bae is giving such a cold shoulder to her. I always felt a pang of jealousy whenever I see the two of them exchanging looks, others might not noticed it but I was observant. I couldn’t help but to feel jealous…and mad. I didn’t want the two to be together – there must be something going on. It wasn’t a normal teacher and student relationship. There was something more than that and it needs to be stopped. I wanted Seulgi for myself. Seulgi is mine.                                          ***     Seulgi couldn’t understand. She doesn’t know what she did for her to receive the cold shoulder from Irene. They were fine just a week ago, but starting last Tuesday, the woman had been completely absent. Irene had stopped picking her up to school – at first Seulgi was completely fine with that, they do need to keep things under the radar – but Irene stopped talking to her and even told her to stop pasting the post-its-notes on her desk. That caught her off-guard. Had Seulgi came off to pushy that night at her apartment? Had Irene became tired of her? Had she not care about her anymore? Well if it was because all of those three, Seulgi would feel terribly miserable. She tried to reason out on why Irene is acting this way. Maybe she’s having problems with her mom again and Bogum …or maybe a new persistent guy that her mom had put on to her again. Yeah, maybe it wasn’t her. Irene had always proven and showed her how much she cares about her. I’m not like everyone else Irene had said that to her when Seulgi had doubted and thought the woman would leave her. And now, she’s trying hard to hold on to those words. So she tried to not think much of Irene’s recent actions, but truthfully her overthinking got the best of her and it was slowly, but surely, eating her inside. Seulgi had to know why. There must be a reason why. The Irene she knew for the past couple of months, isn’t someone that would shut her out completely like this, heck – even telling her to stop sending the post-its-notes when Irene appreciates and likes it so much. Something must be up. Irene not speaking to her must be either out of fear, or something that she didn’t know.     It was already the first week of February. Classes weren’t even classes anymore since graduation is just around the corner – also her 18th birthday in which she wasn’t feeling it much, especially with her current situation. It was Miss Bae’s class and Seulgi watched her lips as she explained about the graduation ceremony procedure and where to get the robes from but everything seemed hazy. Seulgi was losing focus. Her mind was raging on how the woman ahead is letting her slipped out of her life just like that. Irene glanced at her, quite often she does so but the gaze held in her eyes was none of the soft, teasing and twinkling look. It was plain stern like all the eyes of the teachers at school when they know a student wasn’t listening to what they were saying. January was long gone and the cold in February was finally starting to warm up. But not the both of them. Irene just didn’t care. She no longer care about her.   “You okay there, Seulgi?” Sooyoung nudged her side not so lightly, making her wince in slight pain. “You look so out of it.”   Seulgi turned to look at her friend. Sooyoung had tried to make her open up to her for the past few weeks. The girl had sensed her rather gloomy state, a contrast to her usual way Seulgi would bring herself.   Seulgi merely nodded, and Sooyoung whispered near her ear. “You’re still into Miss Bae?”   She squinted her eyes at Sooyoung, throwing off an annoyed look with her shoulders hunch. Sooyoung knew about the post-its that Seulgi had been sticking on Miss Bae’s desk everyday – she thought it was lame. And Sooyoung also knew that both she and Miss Bae were somewhat close outside school ever since the bar incident. It was Sooyoung who got the free pass to enter the bar. Her father is an influential man in the business world and as cliché as it might sound, by only mentioning the name of Sooyoung’s dad, all the guards would automatically give her access to any clubs or bars despite them being underage. Her family, especially her dad is that powerful. It was just a harmless visit to that particular bar at Itaewon that night. Sooyoung had been pleading for her to go together with her, along with some of her friends from different schools – yes, she is a social butterfly. And somehow a drunk Miss Bae happened to be there and Seulgi had no choice but to take the woman back home before she’d be taken advantage of. Only Sooyoung knew about it. Only Seulgi and her knew that it was their History teacher at a gay bar. The rest thought it was a college girl that Seulgi had her eyes on. “Did something happen between the two of you?” Sooyoung questioned again, nodding towards Miss Bae in front. Sooyoung often told her at times that she and Miss Bae had a weird teacher, student relationship. But they were so much more than that. Seulgi glanced ahead and Miss Bae was directly looking at her. Noticing how both Sooyoung and her weren’t paying attention to what she was saying in front, but she wasn’t going to call her and Sooyoung out. Because if Miss Bae do so, it meant she would acknowledge Seulgi. And the woman had been denying her existence for the past few weeks.   Pulling her gaze to Sooyoung, Seulgi answered, “Nope, nothing happen.”   The girl beside her scoffed, “You can’t fool me. You’re quite easy to read, Seulgi.”   Really? Could Sooyoung read how much she cared about Miss Bae? How much she loved – yes, love, Seulgi had come to terms of it – Miss Bae? Could Sooyoung see that it wasn’t merely those silly crushes a student had on their teacher? Could she see that it was more than that?   “What are you on about?” Seulgi tear her eyes from Sooyoung’s inquisitive ones and looked straight at Miss Bae. “There’s nothing going on between us.”   Seulgi had made sure Miss Bae had read her lips and for a second, there was a flash of pain in her eyes before the latter turned away and walked to the other side of the class. Sooyoung clicked her tongue, sighing in defeat before she leaned away from her.                                                     ***     Days were dragging on, their graduation – also her birthday – is getting closer and Seulgi wasn’t as excited as everyone else compared to the circle of people around her. Her dad was counting days till her birthday, every night after he came back from work, he would bring either take-away from diners or packed home-made food – usually the latter. But lately, noticing Seulgi’s slight change of behaviour – yes, she was being rather glum at home too, sighing every now and then – making her dad though that she was sad about leaving high school, when she was actually rather looking forward to do so. Her friends were equally eager and Seulgi had already heard some talk about a big party going to be held sometime soon not far from their graduation date. Everyone was thrilled. But here she was, still brooding and slowly going insane on being left in the dark by Irene. And she had had enough. Seulgi had decided that she would
