Heechul was the second member to enlist in the military and Radio Star had to find his replacement.

Radio Star wanted someone witty and young and Heechul recommended Kyuhyun for that spot.

Soon the fourth MC seat at the MBC studio was given to Kyuhyun.

In all honesty, he was afraid, but at the same time, he felt ready to take that opportunity.

It was going to be a new beginning after all.

Radio Star made Kyuhyun learn that temporary blindness can be cured, if there is will.

It gave him the opportunity to understand that he wasn’t unneeded nor invisible and the man who years ago couldn’t remember his name, because as he claimed his presence wasn’t powerful enough, would now treat him like a son.

“Kyuhyun-ah, want to go out and grab a drink tonight?” Jongwoon asked the maknae, smiling.

“Sorry, hyung…I can’t tonight…I have Radio Star recording…” The maknae declined the offer apologetically.

“Look at the baby maknae growing and having many individual schedules… I’m so proud of you!” Jongwoon exclaimed, while excitingly pinching the maknae’s cheeks and attacking his philtrum.

“Yah— Hyung— Not the philtrum again…” Kyuhyun yelled, feigning annoyance.

And they both started laughing.

New beginnings are always scary, but they always are mesmerizingly beautiful.

Chapter 9: This story is amazing. It's funny how I started become his fan just right after he enrolled in military. And here I am missing him like crazy. And your story just made me more emotional... I just keep imagining the day he and his hyungs will stand on one stage again.
Oh and btw there was this information that you mistook I think. Heechul didn't reccomend Kyuhyun. At that time Heechul reccomended EunHyuk. Kim Gura was actually the one reccomend Kyu for the spot. This was said by Kyu in Taxi and mentioned on a RS ep by SJ members. Yeah just kinda want to clear that out

Chapter 9: I cried buckets while reading this ㅠ_ㅠ It just made me miss him even more but I'm so happy you shared this with us.
I became a Kyu stan just days before his enlistment. Sad, right? I pity myself sometimes over this fact. Why did fate only deemed it ok for me to know him when he was already going into hiatus for military service? LOL
Anyway, I first saw him on NJTTW3 on cable but as much as I would like it to be it was not love at first sight :( I did not really notice him at first. I wasn't into Kpop and was only aware of the name Super Junior coz I've heard them mentioned in passing over the news whenever they have a concert in our country. Also, it did not help that he was new to NJTTW and was a little hesitant and awkward I guess. I did notice him when NJTTW showed a clip of him singing a song from Mozart while trying to fix his beddings in a cold room coz he lost in a game of chance LOL Of course, after hearing his voice how could one not research about him and how could someone not fall in love with him and his amazing voice after knowing and hearing more of Cho Kyuhyun in YT :D So that was the start and I also learned to love the rest of SJ afterwards though Kyu will always be my top bias that nobody can topple. ;)
Honestly, when thinking about Kyu's 2019 I can't help but feel scared and excited at the same time. Scared because it seems so far away and the future is always unknown and unpredictable. But at the same time, I'm excited to see Kyu come back and show the world how he has grown and improved the 2 years he was away. <3

Chapter 9: Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!! Thank you, this was just amazing to go through the emotions our maknae went through. I had to finish it in one go. I just hope 2018 and half of 2019 go super fast cuz I am so missing him.
