 - If you think of a fairytale, it usually has a happy beginning, and a happy end

 - The guy always gets the girl, the dragon is always defeated, the Knight gets his damsel in distress, and the prince always gets his princess

 - Lucky for you, you happen to live in an actual fairytale

 - Yeah I know right? It’s amazing but so damn repetitive to the point where you think you’re going crazy

 - Being stuck in the grounds of the palace without any friends and all you ever do it study, sleep, eat, have lessons…yeah you get the picture 

 - The picture is rather boring if you look at it long enough, while many wish to have your life, you wish to have theirs

 - You watch people walk by on the streets holding hands or walking with an arm around each other and huge smiles on their faces

 - At times like this you wish you had someone who loved you like the regular people in your city

 - “My lady, it’s time for your archery lessons. Please get ready in ten minutes.”

 - Your butler, Gyujin, called out from behind the oak door and a small sigh left your lips 

 - Slowly you pulled yourself away from the window, a small sigh escaped your lips

 - After getting dressed you opened the double doors of your bedroom to find a rather startled looking Gyujin

 - “I said in ten minutes not immediately..”

 - “You know I’m not the best at listening old friend.”

 - Gyujin sighed heavily, shaking his head as he walked with you down to the training field

 - Training was just about the last thing you wanted to do but as a princess your parents demanded that you learn to defend yourself 

 - Even though it’s 2017 and everything is all modern but hey that’s just how it ended up

 - You greeted your teacher, Wooshin, and the lesson began

 - After a few hours you had beaten Wooshin’s best score, he was impressed with your improvement, which left Gyujin snickering int he corner

 - “Y/N dear, come inside and change. We have a visitor.”

 - “Race you back Gyujin”

 - He didn’t process what you said until he saw you bolting back for the house, he chuckled a bit but ran after you nonetheless

 - You changed into a light blue summer dress with a black satin belt around your waist

 - Sunyoul, your best friend and chambermaid, had lightly curled your hair and done your makeup

 - The two of you talked about recent events in your lives, neither of you had anything very interesting happen to you

 - “You’ll be meeting your soulmate soon though, so that must be exciting”

 - His voice came out smooth and cool while he finished curling your hair

 - “I’m excited but I wonder if I’ll even like this person”

 - “Oh honey, this is your soulmate, that’s how it works”

 - “Whatever you say Yein”

 - “Hey I found mine already and I love him to bits, you’ll find yours and love him as well”

 - You knew deep down he was right but something was a bit scary to you when thinking through the whole situation

 - When Sunyoul finished the last curl he shooed you out of your room and down the stairs where your parents were waiting for you

 - Your shoes clicked at you came down the stairs, when your eyes landed on your parents they were talking to a boy and what appeared to be his father

 - At first glance, he was really cute, I mean like he looked so angelic to you that it came off as a shock

 - His pitch black hair shined under the lights, his gaze was soft and warm but his eyes had a sharpness to them that sent a shiver up your spine

 - Slowly your steps faded as you observed from the stairs, he was dressed in a white dress shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes

 - For a moment you thought he was absolutely perfect even though you hadn’t talked to him or met him ever

 - “Oh, honey, there you are. Come on down and meet the Royal Go family”

 - More royals? Well this was just a peachy beginning to the evening wasn’t it?

 - Once you stood in front of the two men you realized just how tall they both were, both over 6 feet tall

 - “I’m Prince Minsoo but you can call me Kogyeol”

 - He held his hand out for you to shake, carefully and gently you held it, his soft skin sent another shiver up your spine and it seemed like it sent one up his spine as well

 - “Very nice to meet you. I’m Princess Y/N”

 - You moved to shake hands with his father, a rather lanky man but as humble as could be

 - Gyujin appeared suddenly next to you, bowing politely and leading you all to the dinning room 

 - “Honey sit next to Kogyeol if you would”

 - A slightly terrified expression crossed your facial features briefly but you nodded your head, gesturing to the seat next to you 

 - Kogyeol’s brown eyes met yours, a warm smile broke out on his face as he sat down next to you

 - The adults were busy talking and eating, sounds of laughter filled the room but you remained rather silent the whole time

 - Only talking when a question was asked of you and Kogyeol took note of this

 - At some point he leaned over and whispered in your ear, again sending another shiver up your spine

 - “I don’t bite, I promise”

 - “Oh..s-sorry…”

 - “I’d really like to get to know you”

 - “Uh…alright…shoot”

 - He asked you some basic questions, you gave rather basic answers but you two found that you had many things in common with each other

 - Both of you are single children, you two tend to people watch rather than getting involved, relaxing in the sun on a nice day

 - “So…one more question, and I promise this is the last one”

 - “Fine, last one Minsoo”

 - “Yah!”

 - He’ll laugh as he tickles you, causing all the attention in the room to be brought to the both of you

 - Your parents smiled at each other, they knew you two were perfect for each other but they wanted you two to figure that out on your own

 - “Okay! I give up! Kogyeol-ah!”

 - Once he stops tickling you, you notice how his eyes shine as he watches you

 - It’s that soft gaze, full of warmth and happiness, but still had that sharpness

 - “My question is this: do you know why I’m here?”

 - “Huh?”

 - You were caught off guard by that question as it suddenly occurred to you that no, you really didn’t know why this boy and his father had shown up at your house

 - “I’ll take that as a no, father, may we be excused?”

 - His father nodded at you both with a gentle smile gracing his lips, the same kind of smile as Kogyeol’s

 - Said male stood up, holding out his hand for you, and walked outside into the back yard to talk

 - As you held his hand you took a moment to just admire him, from head to toe he was stunning and so gentle

 - A warm and fuzzy feeling started to bubble in your stomach but you ignored it, mistaking it for nervous butterflies 

 - The two of you walked to an old oak tree with a swing on it from when you were younger

 - He leaned his back against the tree as he gazed down at you sitting on the swing, slowly moving back and forth in silence

 - “You really don’t know why I’m here do you?”

 - You shook your head no vigorously, honestly this whole meeting was so out of the blue since no one had told you prior

 - “I don’t know how to tell you this…but…”

 - His hand rubbed the back of his neck and his smile turned into a shy and embarrassed one, he clearly knew

 - “Kogyeol, what’s this about?”

 - “Hm…I don’t think I can say…so, if you’ll let me I’ll show you”

 - Not really knowing what to say, you simply nodded your head, what happened next you could not have seen coming 

 - Kogyeol pushed his lean figure away from the tree, pulled you up to standing and wrapped an arm around you waist

 - You gulped as you stared into this eyes, something about them was so calm and familiar even though you had just met

 - He brought his free hand to your cheek, brushing his thumb over your soft skin before gently guiding your face closer to his

 - Only stopping when your lips were less than an inch away from his, you glanced at each other carefully 

 - There was slight hesitance in his gaze but it was gone within seconds as he boldly pressed his lips to yours

 - The feeling was a bit strange at first, kissing someone you didn’t know and only met a few hours prior to now, but you didn’t move away from his touch either

 - He kissed you sweetly, gently, and lovingly

 - His lips moved in sync with yours, the touch soft as clouds with a hint of strawberry

 - You felt him smile into the kiss, it was subtle but you knew 

 - When he pulled away both of your lips were a little bit pinker and a little more plump than before 

 - Both of you blushed just slightly in the moonlight

 - Your parents watched from the kitchen window of the house, the three of them smiled at each other 

 - “So, do you know what this means?”

 - “I do but I want to hear it come from you”

 - Kogyeol rolled his eyes with a slight grin on his face as he pulled you into his arms, letting you lean against his chest

 - “We’re soulmates, how did you not know this?”

 - “No one told me…”

 - “What I mean is, did you feel a shiver run up your spine? Did you get a warm fuzzy feeling bubble in your stomach?”

 - You nodded your head and a low chuckle left his mouth, the sound vibrating through his chest and into your body

 - It made you happy to finally meet the person you were meant to be with for the rest of your life

 - “I guess every Princess does get her Prince”
