Chapter 5 – Missing Key
When Han Seul found out that she lost her house key, she was bound to face her pets.
How was she sure that she didn’t lose it due to her clumsiness?
First suspect—Donut. The cat’s notorious for stealing stuffs. Fried fish, fried prawns, fried chicken, cereal, hairpins, shiny objects—you name it. A key is certainly shiny. It also emits a bell-like ringing sound as it clinks together, something very cat-interesting.
Second suspect—Pretzel. The dog is known to eat anything. The dog ate Donut’s hair ball, a bottle cap, spilled lotion, Skibble’s food and all the way to fake eyelashes and contact lenses. If Pretzel ate her key, she wouldn’t be surprised.
Third suspect—Donut.
“Alright, Donut,” Han Seul took a deep breath, staring at the cat that was staring at her with its smug face. “Where did you put my keys?”
Of course, speaking to the cat would be futile, but Han Seul has to do it. Besides, Donut is no common cat.
“I know you understand me, Donut,” she muttered.
Donut looked away, ignoring her as the cat it’s paw, grooming itself.
Han Seul knows just the way to solve this insolent brat of a cat. “Who wants anchovies?” she chirped, pulling out a can of anchovies from the plastic bag beside her.
Donut froze and craned its head to her.
“And delicious milk?”
Pretzel somehow joined the party, jumping on the couch and sat excitedly as its tail thumped against the couch furiously.
“Now, who wants a bath?”
Donut immediately ran away.
“See?! I knew you understand me!” Han Seul pointed at the cat before running after it. “Where did you keep my keys? Where?!”
As if the cat fully understood her, the cat jumped up the cabinet in the kitchen and looked down at her with wide, panic filled eyes and meowed loudly at her, as if exclaiming, “I don’t know!”
