(SUNGMI P.O.V)

When school was over, I made my way to the front gate where I would usually wait for oppa so we can walk home together after a few minutes had passed I heard two familiar laughs I turned around and saw oppa and his friend Minseok

When oppa spotted me, he waved like a mad man I returned it, but it was more timid and shy even though we are siblings we are quite the opposite from one another he is the outgoing one with many friends

Then there is me the shy one who likes to stay unknown to everyone in school I have no friends in school out of choice because I might get hurt,  I don’t speak to anyone other than my parents oppa and teachers I haven’t even had a decent conversation with Minseok...

Before I knew it oppa and Minseok were in front of me, I said a soft hello to both of them receiving a loud one back

“So Sungmi-ah Minseok is coming home with us today, so he will be walking home with us” I nodded giving him a small smile

I walked in front of them I didn’t want to make Minseok feel awkward being around me since I don’t speak much I heard some of their conversation

“you know Jongdae I don’t think I have ever heard Sungmi speak.”

I heard oppa laugh “well Minseok she doesn’t speak much around people other than the teacher our parents and me, it has always been like this we don’t know why she is just really shy.”

“Well then maybe one day she will speak to me as well” I heard Minseok say, if he knew how much I wanted to talk to him he would be surprised, but I just can’t bring myself to speak to him

I took out my phone and plugged in my earphones and some ballads and ost’s I enjoyed listening to and continued walking home while enjoying my favorite music

Before I knew it we were home I quickly unlocked the door I headed in and took my shoes off I walked straight to my room and placed my backpack on the floor and quickly changed into my black joggers, white tank top, and my baby blue oversized sweater

I took my sheet music from my backpack and headed to the kitchen I made something to eat for Minseok,oppa and me and also got juice for us I placed theirs on a tray and made my way over to oppa’s room I knocked before entering the room

I saw them both sitting with some homework in front of them Minseok was sitting on the bed and oppa was at his desk they had music playing in the background it was one of my favorite songs ‘that women by Baek Ji Young.'

I said softly but yet loud enough for them to head “oppa I brought you guys something to eat and drink.” They both looked at me

Oppa smiled at me, and  Minseok looked somewhat shocked to hear me say more than a simple hello

Oppa stood up and took the tray in one hand and patted my head with the other “thank you Sungmi-ah” I smiled at him then said “also nice choice of music to whom ever chose this song.”

“Oh Minseok chose it he likes Ballads and stuff like that, somewhat as you do” I nodded and looked at Minseok who was smiling happily

 I looked back to oppa and said “I will be in the music room, please don’t come in or listen I want to practice a bit” he nodded giving me his famous smile

I turned around and left the room making sure to close the door behind me I went back to the kitchen and went to fetch my stuff and headed to the music room which was on the other side of the house which means they won’t hear me unless they stand outside the room

I did some vocal warm ups then started practicing my song the song I chose was ‘You are my everything by Jung Ha Yoon’ it was one of the OST’S in my favorite drama Secret Garden

I lost track of time while I was practicing and didn’t realize it was already 4 pm we got home at 2 pm meaning I was practicing for a little less than two hours, I decided to take a break I walked out of the room to be met by the delicious smell of food

I headed to the kitchen and saw oppa and Minseok busy cooking I walked over to them scaring Minseok senseless when he turned around and suddenly saw me which made oppa laugh since he used to me being quiet

I quickly apologized to him I didn’t mean to scare him I felt bad for scaring him if I weren't as quiet it wouldn’t  happen

“Sungmi-ah we are making dinner since eomma and appa are still in Busan for that business trip they have so you can go and take a shower or whatever you feel like doing” I heard oppa say

I gave a quick nod followed by “arraso oppa I am going to go take a shower then I am going to my room” I turned around and headed to my room

I took my Pj’s and then headed to the bathroom to take a shower after I was done with my shower I changed into my Pj’s then went to my room

 

I had no homework to do so I decided on just listening to some songs on my laptop I decided on listening to Hong Jinyoung’s Cheer up...and a few more songs until there was a knock on my door

 I didn’t respond since it was probably just oppa coming to tell me that dinner is ready, I heard the door open

I looked up and saw Minseok standing there “sorry to bother you Jongdae told me to come call you dinner is ready” I gave a little nod and closed my laptop and got up to go eat

When I got to the dining room, I saw oppa already sitting I took my usual seat which was in front of him, and Minseok sat next to him, we started eating they were talking and joking around, and I just ate that was until I heard oppa call my name

“Sungmi-ah, your birthday is next week what are you planning to do?”

I shook my head and said, “Same as every year oppa stay at home, you know I don’t have any friends it’s not like I can throw a party.”

He looked at me and frowned “well then I am going to plan something it’s your 17^th birthday I won’t let you just sit at home.”

“thank you oppa, but you don’t have to.” He glared at me

“Come on Sungmi; it’s one day at least try to be excited.”

I just sighed and kept quiet I knew that if I said something he would continue arguing with me I looked down and continued eating, while oppa was whining as to why I am not answering, and Minseok was laughing at him

I when I finished eating my dinner I saw they were done as well I stood up and collected everyone’s plates without saying much and went to wash the dishes as I was still busy washing and cleaning up the mess oppa has made

I heard footsteps I looked up and saw Minseok he smiled when he saw me I returned it with a small smile as well “Let me help you clean Jongdae left a left behind he should be cleaning it.”

“You don’t have to Minseok-ssi, I can manage on my own”

He shook his head as he started to dry the dishes “I want to help and no matter what you say I am helping.”  

“Well thank you then.”

We continued to clean in silence until he asked me unsurely “Hey Sungmi, why did you tell Jongdae you had no friends?”

I looked at him and said, “I don’t have any, I had friends, but if you have a popular brother you have fake friends who use you to get noticed, and then when they do, you are nothing.”

“Is that why you don’t talk to others, it’s not that you're shy but more like you feel like when you make friends they aren’t true ones?”

I looked down and nodded, it isn’t a lie, at a time I had many friends but all they wanted was my brother

 When he wasn’t interested in them they left, and I ended up getting hurt, I never told him because I knew he would hate knowing he was the cause of my pain

“Well then you have one friend right here, I won’t hurt you to get to your brother because he is my best friend already” he smiled happily at me

“Thank you Minseok-ssi, let’s get along well.”

“To get along well we have to drop the formalities Sungmi-ah, Just call me oppa.”

I smiled and nodded “okay then oppa, oh it’s already dark outside will you be spending the night?”

“Jongdae did ask me, but I just have to ask my parent s still.”

“ah, I see well when you asked, and they agreed just tell me so I can prepare the guest room for you.”

“I will; you know this is the most I have heard you talk since I met you two years ago.”

“Sorry about that I was just scared I guess.”

“I think I know someone who knows that feeling did you know I have a little sister who is in the same class as you?” I shook my head I didn't even know he had  a little sister

“Kim Miseok we keep that we are siblings a secret because she didn’t want fake friends around her, almost like you.”

“I know Miseok we sit next to each other in some of our classes we just never really spoke to each other; I didn’t even know you two were related.”

Before he could speak he was cut off by  my energetic oppa he came into the room and said: “what’s this I hear you two are having a decent conversation, so all along all that was needed was for me to take a shower.”

Now that i think of it we are actually having a decent coversation...our first one since we met, it seems like oppa needs to take showers more often kekeke
