Shards of UsSeven minutes and thirty-four seconds. He lightly panted outside of the gates to his home as he stopped to look at his watch. He smiled to himself, a whole new record he had achieved in less than a month. Every day he'd run that mile, something he had picked up to keep himself busy after Hana had left.
“Sir, Mr. Hahn had called for the eleventh time this week looking for Hana again about the landscape for our new building. He's making a special trip from New York this week just to meet her. He said that his chances would be greater if they met in person,” Mr. Kim panicked, interrupting the music that played in his ears.
He closed his eyes, annoyed. He checked the time on his silver Rolex, six forty-five. “I’ll be there in an hour.” He hung up the phone without a goodbye and made his way inside the gates.
He stripped himself as he made his way into the bathroom, the closest bathroom at that, for a shower. He let the water dance along his toned body. Everything in this room was still the same. Baekhyun found himself showering in Hana's bathroom more than his. Maybe it was because it was more convenient and more close to the way downstairs. People just couldn't seem to leave him alone and work specifically was always bothersome. He quickly rinsed himself and got out of the shower.
“What is it now?!” he answered, assuming it was Mr. Kim. His towel loosely hung around his waist as he used another to wipe his dripping hair.
“Sir, you have a meeting in ten minutes. Would…”
He glanced at his watch. “Why would you schedule something so early and not say anything?! You're killing me here.” Work had also become more stressful since Hana had left. And, every day Mr. Kim had been less and less satisfying, a big disappointment to him, really.
“Actually Sir, this was your decision.”
Baekhyun sighed upon realizing that his secretary was in fact correct. This was his doing. He did this to himself. Instead of choosing to be a mindless and useless drunk around Seoul, he became a workaholic to keep his mind off of things.
“I'll be there in ten then,” he forced himself a smile and quickly got dressed.
True to his words, he was running in with a mi
