Chapter 2

The Celestials: the Fallen and the Banished

Lisa slowly opened her tired eyelids, and tried to think why she was lying there on the grass. Then, she remembered what happened the night before; the concert, the conversation between Jimin and Jennie, and her walk with Jimin on the neutral territory. Jennie suddenly blushed, as thinking about Jimin made her feel nervous and anxious. She didn't know why, but she couldn't stop thinking about him. Looking around to see him, she found no traces of him left behind; he must have gotten up before her and left. Disappoineted yet understanding, she decided to continue indulging in thought of Jimin. There was something very different about Jimin that she could not exactly pinpoint; however, no matter what it was, Lisa couldn't deny her heart in that she was starting to like him.

Jimin slowly woke up, at first not really thinking about anything but how tired he was. Then, he felt the grass beneath him; slowly getting up, he started remembering the events of the night before, and how he ended up sleeping next to a complete stranger, no matter how beautiful she was. And besides, she was a devil; he should never have gotten himself this close to her. He slowly raised himself off of the ground, not wanting to wake Lisa up. He slowly examined her again; she looked so peaceful, but also beautiful. Although he wanted to stare into her all day long, he was more worried about the fact that she was a devil. He walked in complete silence, turning around a couple times to see if Lisa woke up. Noticing that she was still, he leaped into the air and flew off into the university campus, still thinking about her. Even throughout his day of classes and lectures at the university, he could never stop thinking about Lisa.

Lisa slowly walked to the devil's territory, feeling the early morning breeze and gazing at the sky. Although it was rather quite early in the morning, she happened to run into Jennie, who noticed Lisa and smiled widely while waving her hands. She seemed rather excited to see Lisa and was in an abnormally good mood. Lisa casually greeted Jennie, and they started walking together towards Lisa's apartment. Somehow, Jennie started talking about random subjects that Lisa couldn't quite focus on, as she was busy thinking about Jimin. It was only when Jennie mentioned Jimin's name that Lisa snapped out of her daydreams, and increasingly began to pay attention to Jennie's words: "and by the way, I think both of us should be more careful of the archangel we met yesterday. He doesn't seem like the type to pick fights, but it still is very dangerous; let's both make sure not to get tangled into any mess with him, yeah?" Lisa, suddenly alert at what Jennie was telling her, dumbly nodded her head, trying not to think of what would happen if she kept whatever started between her and Jimin.

Lisa walked into her room, which was a bit dark at this hour and even after she all the lights in the room, it was still dim and she could only see the outer boundaries of her furniture. She carefully walked towards her bed, trying to wave her arms in front of her to avoid running into anything. When she finally reached the edge of her bed, she fell directly on the bed, and started thinking about Jimin again. This time, however, she did not mentally stop herself for thinking about him; she was enjoying the thought of him smiling widely, and started picturing his face when they shared a little conversation on the previous night. She was falling asleep; she didn't bother changing her clothes and simply let herself be drifted away into fuzzy thoughts and unclear feelings. She was thinking about Jennie's warnings when she fell asleep; she didn't know why she would be worried, but for some reason, something within her head was conflicting with each other.

Jimin slowly strolled through the university campus, noting how the sun was setting a bit later each day and how it wasn't completely dark when he was walking back to his dorm as it usually was. It was a tiring day; he sat through endless lines of boring classes that taught information he already learned more than hundred years ago. As a result, he was always the top scoring student at the university no matter the class, and he was therefore the valedictorian of his class. In fact, he was always good at everything he did; but instead of using his talents as a material for the basis of his ego, he was always humble, earning even more compliments from those around him. Just then, he received a call from Taehyung; in a loud voice, he said, "Hey ChimChim! Do you want to go out and eat dinner with me in the quad? I have something very important to tell you!" After that, Taehyung's giggles could be heard faintly from the phone, and Jimin guessed that his friend moved his phone away from his mouth so as not to laugh furiously into the speaker. Jimin couldn't help but smile at how funny his friend was, and his eyes once again turned into the pair of crescents. "Alright, I will meet you at the pizza restaurant in front of the university quad in a minute. You better wait for me!," yelled Jimin, attempting to sound authoritative but instead coming off as playful. Taehyung hung up before Jimin could finish his sentence, and Jimin sighed again, thinking about how blessed he was to have a friend like Taehyung; Taehyung always brightened up his mood, and he felt comfortable talking to him about anything. He turned left, and started walking towards the quad; he thought about how he met Lisa there, how she was hovering above him in that exact spot. He felt the similar feeling as yesterday, and he couldn't quite describe what it was, but it definitely made him feel different, maybe more happy. Shaking off the thought when he saw Taehyung waving cheerfully at him, Jimin started towards his direction and responded to his high five.

"Jiminnie! I was dying to tell you this!," screamed Taehyung, earning both of them many glances from people around them, who probably wanted to eat dinner more quietly than Taehyung was letting them. Jimin, more responsive to such public responses than playful Taehyung, pulled him aside and said, "Let's get in the line. I want to hear what this talk thing is all about, but let's get our food first, yeah?" Taehyung nodded happily, turning his head completely Jimin and grinning slightly in a cute way. Jimin couldn't help but smile; he wasn't exaggerating when he said Taehyung could make his day much better within a matter of seconds.

After they had gotten their slices of pizza, they sat down on one of the empty tables, which was slightly lit by the setting sun on Jimin's side. After taking a few bites of pizza in silence, with occasional glances thrown towards Jimin, Taehyung cleared his voice. "ChimChim, you know my girlfriend Jisoo, right?" he began, and continued on without waiting for Jimin's reply. "Well, she knows of a girl named Rose, and I think they're really good friends. I know things might get really boring in life sometimes and a lot of the times, I feel like you're making it a lot more boring than it has to be. I think Rose is a really nice girl and she looks gorgeous," said Taehyung, stopping to see Jimin's reactions. Jimin kept his poker face, biting on the pizza without expression. Taehyung once again cleared his throat, and whispered, "Well, I think I can introduce you two and see how you guys like each other. I mean, you need a girl in your life to keep you a bit more interested! I never saw you even going close to a girl or have a nice, casual conversation with her, much less going on a date. I think you guys will rather like each other; why don't you give it a try?" Although Jimin kept staring into Taehyung's large eyes the same way as before, Jimin didn't know how to describe his feelings inside; he was definitely not interested, yet he did not want to sound rude in front of Taehyung. Thinking for about a minute or so, Jimin began quietly, "I'm not interested. Thank you for going out of your way to see that I will have a good and exciting life, but I like it the way it is right now." Although Jimin did mention that he was not interested, he was in fact thinking more about Lisa; his feelings for her were uncertain, but somehow, the thought of Lisa was inhibiting Jimin from showing any interest to other girls. Taehyung looked disappointed, but he wasn't the type to give up at one attempt. He repeated again, "Hey, I am suggesting this to you for your sake. I know you think this girl meets boy and they live happily ever after thing isn't something a tough guy like you will find interesting and even engaging, but I just want you to give it a try. You can't always tell if you're interested or not until you try it. Please, ChimChim?" Jimin was laughing by this point, amazed at how coherent Taehyung's arguments were for the first time in a long time. Normally, his best friend would make a claim and provide no support or at least some random facts like "an average Koi fish lives 200 years" as an evidence. Although Jimin could find million reasons why he shouldn't try this "date" with Rose, including the fact that she was a total stranger, he was rather impressed with Taehyung at this moment. Without giving it a further thought, Jimin loudly sighed and said, "Alright. I really don't know why I'm agreeing to this, but I will try this one time. Now let's finish eating!" Taehyung clapped his hands in delight and shoved the rest of his pizza in his mouth, ballooning his cheeks and chewing happily in his box smile.

Lisa slowly opened her eyes; things were still blurry, but she could tell at least that her room was very messy and needed to be cleaned at once. She lazily raised her body, yawned with the biggest mouth she could form, and stretched her long, tired limbs while still sitting on the bed. She habitually checked her phone, and noticed that her friend, Rose, texted her. It read: "Lisa! Come over to my house if you want 'cause I have something exciting I want to tell you!" Lisa lazily scrolled through her phone, checking for other notifications as well before texting Rose back: "I will be there soon. You don't mind that I am showing up right now, right?" Before she could say Rose, she received a text back, saying "Yes! Please come over and I will spill out all my juice to you!"

Lisa slowly got off the bed and kicked some of her clothes out of her way. 'I will take care of this mess later, when I come back from Rose's house,' thought Lisa, still not feeling completely awake. She lazily changed into her blue top and a loose pair jeans with far too many holes, and put on her flipflops. Brushing her hair wildly on her way out, Lisa looked in the mirror and saw herself through the reflection, smiling a bit for no reason.

Lisa knocked on the door of the huge house, yawning again. She noticed that there was a doorbell right next to the doorknob, and she was about to ring it, thinking that no one inside will hear her knock in a huge house like theirs, when the door opened widely, and very quickly, revealing Rose inside, smiling widely. She was well dressed as usual, and her house was extremely clean from the outside. Rose motioned Lisa in, and Lisa walked into the house carefully. She walked by the hallway with long tables and uniquely shaped lamps, all lit very brightly despite the sheer number of them. For some reason, Rose was refusing to talk; Lisa didn't ask about it, but Rose must have wanted to talk to Lisa in the secrecy and privacy of her own room. After what seemed like far too many doors than any large family could occupy, Rose stopped in front of Lisa, abruptly turning around. "Before I tell you anything, you must promise never to tell anyone what I am about to tell you, okay?" asked Rose, still grinning slightly. Lisa dumbly nodded, her eyes appearing to be uninterested and bored. Rose knew that her eyes were always like that, and took that as a "yes." She pushed open the elegant door and walked into her room, followed by Lisa right behind her.

"Okay," began Rose, taking in a deep breath as if to recite a poem in front of a panel of judges in some kind of literary competition. "I might get a boyfriend," blurted out Rose, looking excited and overly happy with her smile widening. "What is the context behind this? Did you fall in love with the garbage man or something?" asked Lisa, rather sarcastically but clapping her hands in delight at the news. Rose laughed, and continued, "Jisoo's boyfriend knows of a really good looking boy who they told me was really hot and smart. I needed someone like this in my life! And obviously he said 'yes' when Jisoo's boyfriend asked if he would be willing to go on a little date with me! Can you believe that? I might finally get a prince on a white horse and run off with him to a distant island where nobody lives!" Lisa laughed at Rose's excitement and tried to process what she had just heard. After she felt as if she had everything sorted out, she exclaimed,"I am so happy for you! Just wear your cute white dress and act normally, and any guy would fall for you, girl! Tell me later on how you are with him, whoever this guy might be!"

Lisa and Rose ate two bags of chips, a whole box of thin mints cookies, and a handful of cashews while watching some cheesy drama. They were furiously criticizing the plot and cursing at the characters, and in general complaining at how bad the drama was, although they would never admit the fact that they were addicted to it and couldn't stop watching it. After a heated debate on how the next episode of the drama will turn out to be between them, Lisa said bye to Rose and headed for her home. Her thought unconsciously turned back to Jimin, and she began thinking about how he liked to listen to raps. She pulled out her phone and searched for a rap she thought she heard on the concert when she first met Jimin; finding Cypher 4, she began listening to them while walking home. She felt genuinely happy to be listening to the same song that Jimin probably also likes; she looked up at the sky and rapped along, muttering the lyrics "Ahh you wanna be my life?"

I have updated Celestials after a year and a half of vacancy! It's not a continuation of the story but a lame explanation as to why it has stopped so abruptly... I apologize for not continuing the story but I hope I can continue to write in the future!
