Project 9
Red Light Agency‘Look,’ Lisa her lips and approached Victoria slowly, ‘We need your help.’
‘Lisa, what are you doing?’ Jennie growled.
‘We’re never going to achieve what we want on our own, and I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of struggling just to fail every time,’ Lisa growled at the other female.
‘Just hear what we have to say and you can make your own decision,’ she turned and headed to a brick that was jutting out of the floor.
Placing her paw on it she applied pressure and within moments a four foot by four foot section of concrete slid away. A set of steps leading down into the dark unknown was revealed and she quickly disappeared down them. Jisoo, Rose, and Jennie filed in after her. Victoria glanced at her pack mates before letting curiosity get the better of her and led her friends down the stairwell. The section of concrete slid shut over top of them effectively sealing them in like a tomb. The glow of artfully hung colored lights gave the space warmth as it opened up into a large living area. It was divided into four individual work spaces, one with weapons, one with gadgets and parts, one with software and various computers, and one with piles upon piles of books and schematics. Deeper into the underground dwelling were two individual rooms and one bathroom. Sulli was instantly drawn like a magnet to the computers and software as Amber made a bee line for the gadgets and parts table.
‘Hey you two don’t touch anything, at least not while you’re still wolves,’ Jennie growled and the two gave longing glances at the tables before rejoining the group.
‘It’s about to get awkward isn’t it?’ Sulli huffed as everyone sat around expectantly.
‘Yep,’ Amber replied with a sheepish look.
‘One small room and nine women,’ Lisa sneered, ‘Sounds like a party.’
‘We’ll get you guys something to wear,’ Rose was the first to phase back into her human self before rushing back toward one of the bedrooms.
Lisa made no effort to cover up the fact she was watching her like…well…like a starving wolf watches a deer. A now human Jennie purposefully bumped into her as she walked passed to break the drooling female out of her trance. Once everyone was clothed again they settled into the chairs and sofas in the make shift living room.
“Once upon a time Red Light, used to recruit agents, now its making them,” Jennie began as if she were telling a grim fairy tale, “They’ve perfected it over time and have developed something called Project 9. We aren’t exactly sure what it is, but I have a pretty good idea it has nothing to do with unicorns, kittens, and rainbows.”
“We got a little too close to the truth, and we were sent on what would be our last mission, little did we know that we had become yours,” Lisa leaned forward with a smirk, “They sent you after us.”
“The fire fight in China,” Rose reminded Victoria.
“Your partner in America,” Jisoo watched Krystal with a deep sadness in her eyes.
“Give us one good reason why we should believe you and not hand you over to Red Light right now,” Krystal growled. “You saw it for yourself, what other proof do you need?” Jennie rolled her eyes.
“Say we believe you,” Luna edged, “How are we supposed to help you, we work for Red Light, we’ll be putting our asses on the line.”
“You’re asses are already on the line, the question is what are you going to do about it?” Lisa smirked, “We’ve managed to pinpoint the location of the facility that’s housing Project 9, over here.”
Lisa stood up and guided everyone over to the table with books and papers spread across it.
“Wait a second, that can’t be right,” Amber studied the blue print and scrunched her eyebrows together in confusion, “That’s our compound.”
“There’s no mistake, they’re right underneath you,” Jennie explained.
“We have to head back before we raise any suspicions,” Amber replied.
“Here take this,” Lisa took grabbed one of the watch phones from the other table, “It operates on a simpler wave length, allowing it to slip under the radar.”
Lisa took Sulli’s hand in hers and attached it to the other woman’s wrist. Rose gave a disapproving growl and the blonde instantly pulled her hands away from the hand she had been holding. She cast an innocent look at her mate and pouted slightly. Sulli examined the new gear and looked at Victoria.
“Look don’t take any unnecessary risks, but if you happen to come across anything you know how to reach us and where to find us,” Jisoo instructed.
“What are you going to do?” Victoria asked.
“We’re going to force their hand and make them test Project 9,” Rose smiled.
“You’re crazy,” Amber shook her head.
“Trust me, it helps,” Lisa confirmed Amber’s opinion.
“Come on, we’ve got to go,” Victoria sighed and they followed her out the same way they had entered.
After sweeping the area and picking up and discarded clothing and making sure no trace of them was left they returned to the Agency.
