Her mother puts down her cutlery, confused. Her father laughs. "What's a pixie?"
"It's a..." Eunbi puts her head down and places a finger on her chin as she ponders about an explanation. "It's a tiny fairy that stays around you and does magic for you!"
Her father chuckles, while her mother releases some awkward laughter.
"Here, eat up Eunbi-yah," her mother warmly says as she places an egg roll on her bowl of rice, "don't let the food turn cold."
"Arasseo umma," Eunbi smiles anyway despite the change of topic and returns to eating. Nevertheless, the idea of a pixie does not leave her little mind for the rest of the day.
As night falls, Eunbi is tucked in her bed after good night wishes from her parents, but Eunbi is nowhere near sleepy as she stays enthusiastic and fascinated by the idea of having a pixie. With her round, glittering eyes glued to the ceiling in her dark room with only moonlight seeping through the drawn curtains, she wonders out loud, "Will that magical place have pixies?"
Of course, no one replies her, but Eunbi isn't disheartened.
