His gaze was absorbed by the sharp eyes in front of him.

Neither said a word.

When one shifted their head the side, the other followed.

He didn’t know what to do.

Meow.

He sneezed.

Why did he have a cat in his studio again?

A groan escaped his lips and he combed his bangs back. The damn feline kept interrupting his work. He never knew cats were such attention-seekers. He always thought they were quiet and independent, but he guess not.

The black and white cat only purred as it rubbed his head against his arm. He really couldn’t get mad at the animal; after all, he isn’t as cold-hearted as he looks. Carefully, he lifted the cat from his table and cradled it in his arms.

He still remembered how he found it in front of JYP building, using the roof as protection from the rain. His weak heart decided to take the feline in for the day (he promised himself it would only be a day, he swore). Then, a day extended as the cat found it’s way back into his studio. He would receive comments or complaints by staff saying there is a cat stubbornly crying in front of the door every time he came inside the building. In the end, he decided to take it in.

The door of his studio opened and he turned around to see who it was. In front of him stood a small petite female, dressed in a oversized long-sleeved sweater with a pair of shorts.

“Annyeong Oppa!” she greeted brightly in her usual tone.

“Ah Jiminah,” he acknowledged her presence with a smile. He gestured her to shut the door, which she happily complied. “Are you here to see the cat?”

She nodded sheepishly. The two would message each other frequently and in one of their conversations, he invited her to see his cat since she heard from s how he adopted a stray cat recently. Today was one of the rare days where their schedules actually matched. The female took a seat across from him on the couch against the wall. She cooed at the cat, who he put down.

“Let her get used to you first,” he advised. “She’s shy and can get fiesty if you try to touch her.” He lifted his hand, showing a small cut. “Take it as a lesson learned the hard way.”

The female winced and nodded. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, it’s just a small cut anyways.”

“Your fangirls are going to be worried though,” she . “Jaebum Oppa, what happened to your hand?! You must be in so much pain!” Jimin mimicked the voice of an annoying fangirl, her hands frantic to match her face.

Jaebum laughed and rolled his eyes. He got up from his seat and sat beside the female. The cat watched and slowly followed him, jumping onto the sofa and nestling next to his lap.

“She really does like you,” Jimin commented, sounding a combination of astonishment and jealousy.

Not going to let this chance to pass, he nudged her shoulder and grinned. “Is someone jealous?”

Her cute face twisted and eyes looking at him in disgust. “Oh shut up.”

“It’s okay Jiminah,” he said, grinning. “Anyone can get jealous.”

“Why am I dating you again?” she questioned herself, asking the air above her for answers.

She only received a chuckle from the man beside her as response. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close, but not without receiving a little squeal from the girl.

The two have been dating each other secretly for a few months. They didn't want to let their members know yet until they felt confident enough this would last. It has only been a few months since the members mentioned that Jaebum changed and that was before they started to date. Although it was a positive change, too much change wouldn’t the greatest idea.

“So,” Jimin interrupted the silence between them, her head still resting on his shoulder, “how’s your song going?”

“I’m still working on the lyrics,” he said. “The lyrics aren’t what I want just yet.”

She looked up at him and smiled. “Fighting,” she softly said with encouragement.

The handsome male couldn’t help but grin at her. Their eyes gazed deeply at each other, almost seeing themselves in the brown of their eyes. Heads slowly leaning in, Jimin’s eyes fluttered close and their lips briskly touching each other.

Meow.

The two stopped and looked at the source of the sound, who was now sitting on top of the table in front of them. Round black eyes, the feline stared with innocent intent. The girl couldn’t help but giggle about what happened while Jaebum held back his slight annoyance (also won over by the damn animal’s face).

“I think she’s jealous of me.”

“She has no reason to be jealous. She initiates skinship more than you do to me.”

“Are you complaining now?” Jimin asked, eyebrows playfully raised.

Jaebum groaned. “I’m not… Ok, maybe a little. But, that’s only because we hardly see each other.”

His girlfriend left the embrace of her lover, who frowned at the action. She reached over and began to pet the cat, who purred in pleasure after finally receiving the attention she wanted, even if it wasn’t Jaebum.

“We can’t do anything about that can we?” she sighed. Being two celebrities and musicians, it was hard for them to see each other sometimes, especially with Jaebum working on his music more recently.

“You could always come by more often,” he suggested.

“And risk the possibility of being discovered by the members or staff,” Jimin forwardly responded. “I think not.”

The male didn’t say anything but leaned over he can wrap his arms around the female’s waist. He rested in head on the small back of the female, who continued to pet the cat. His right ear listened to the beating of Jimin’s heart, calming him. He took in her familiar yet addicting scent of jasmine.

She was his home away from home.

He wished he could stay like this forever.

“Oppa, I have to go now.”

But, that’s an impossible wish.

A disappointing sigh escaped from the thin lines of his mouth and he slowly unwrapped himself from her waist. She got up and adjusted her black skirt that she was wearing. Once she was done, Jaebum handed her purse and stood up to walk her out.

“So, are you going to keep the cat?” Jimin questioned as she adjusted the sling of her purse over her shoulder.

“For now at least. I should probably start asking people if they’re interested in adopting it though.” He rubbed the back of his neck and glanced at the subject, who was her paws.

“I think you should keep it,” she replied. “That way, I can come over here more often.”

Before he could even process and think of a reply, he was kissed by the petite female and soon enough was met by a slam of the door. He blankly blinked before a wide smile spread onto his face. He was dating a sly one alright.

Turning back, he sat down on his chair and allowed the spoiled pet to jump onto his lap to cuddle. He smiled upon hearing the purring from the animal as he pet the top of her head.

“I guess I’ll be keeping you for a while,” he whispered.
