Jihyun stared at Eunwoo in distrust, it was almost like a mockery. But he didn’t budge, instead, his smile got wider. He nodded his head to the stack of cards in his hand, urging her to take one. She once again glanced at him before finally taking one random card in the stack.

“Now look at the card you got. Don’t let me see it” he grinned.

She glanced at her card. Ace of hearts. Then she returned the card to him.

“This is your card, right?” he made sure with nodding to it and showed it to everyone except him before shuffling the deck.

Jihyun tapped her foot in expectation. After he was done shuffling it, he picked out the card on top of the deck and showed it to her.

“Is this your card?” he showed her a jack of clubs and brought laughter to the audiences.

“No!” they shouted, laughing.

“No?” he asked and glanced at the card in his hand.

Then he was back at his wide smile when he pocketed the cards deck. He stepped forward, Jihyun was a bit taken aback by his action.

“What’s that sunbae?” he pointed to his right ear. “What?” she questioned back, touching her ear almost immediately. She frowned when there was nothing.

His arm reached out to her ear, surprising her and the audiences. Some of the girls gasped. He brushed away some of her hair to the back of her ear, then pulled back, revealing a card.

Her card.

“Is this yours?”

The audiences clapped and hollered out at his trick. Eunwoo sent Jihyun a bright smile, once again bribing her with his eye-smiles. His trick was successful. But there’s more.

“There’s something there..” he reached out once again, and this time, pulling out a red rose.

He extended the rose to her. Jihyun stared at the rose in disbelief, before diverted her gaze to his eyes. Those bright smiles blinded her, and the lights that bounced in his eyes. It perplexed her. She should be cold to him, but his warm actions started to melt her.

Jihyun realized the girls around her stared at her in envy and hatred, but the boys stared at them in anticipation. But she already has someone else.
