    The rain outside my window is coming down hard: blasting against the window with the force of a thousand raging seas. It is so dark in the room, it is hard to even make out my own hands in front of my face. Slowly, I am able to make out the shape, as my eyes are able to adjust after such a long sleep. I search out Jackson's familiar face, but the bed is empty and cold on his side. I search throughout the house, but he is nowhere. Strange. Maybe he went to the store or something. I go to the window, and even though it is down-pouring, the stars still manage to dance in the sky. I take a few minutes to admire them as they sparkle and twinkle like lights on a Christmas tree, when I see a figure out of the corner of my eyes, standing in the middle of the street, crouching over something in the road. "What the heck?" I whisper to myself out loud. "I guess the weird ones really DO come out at night." I laugh to myself, but in reality, I start to worry that maybe they are hurt, even though there doesn't appear to have been an accident. Throwing on my coat and popping open my umbrella, I run out into the storm, to see if they are alright. The cold chills me to the bone, as the rain whips into my face. "Are you okay?" I ask, as rain pours into my boots, forming puddles: soaking  my socks and feet. No reply. Strange. I ask again, thinking maybe he doesn't hear me, but still no reply.
