Bonded Heart
Description
Every year children were taken on their fifth birthday to a camp that groomed them into card wielding soldiers to the great pleasure of the governments cruelty. While there, they were groomed and molded into emotionless soldiers. Their innocence was taken from them at such a young age that all they knew was this camp; not even recognizing their own families once they had reached the age of fifteen and released back to them before being sent to an academy where they developed further. Once they entered the university system, they would then be sent onto missions for the governments delight. For hundreds of years, this method had been passed down through the generations and they were taught to covet the one deck that rarely appeared a set of twelve warriors, known as the EXO deck. What the government didn’t realize was that one year, while forcing children into the camp, they came across a little girl with the deepest blue eyes as if you were swimming in an infinite ocean with no land in sight and soft honey brown tresses that caressed the shoulders of her small frame. This girl would be their downfall.
Foreword
Prologue
“Saengil chukahae my darling daughter,” a burly male said as he knelt beside the love of his life. His only child was now at the age of five and he was dreadfully worried that she would be taken from him just like the rest of the children in their quaint town. “Gomawo papa,” she chimed softly to her father while looking up at him with adoration shining in her innocent ocean blue eyes. “My darling, I have something for you,” he murmured softly as he pulled a silver chain out of his pocket only to show her the silver crescent moon pendant with a small cube with a blue gem within and an intricate design showcasing a tree. Placing it around her neck, he leaned down and kissed her cheek tenderly.
“Don’t ever lose this little dove. One day, you will make friends who will recognize this pendant and will never leave your side. Never change for anyone,” he soothed to the child as he caressed her cheek softly watching the young lean comfortingly into his touch only to jump in fright as a loud bang resounded throughout their tiny cottage. “Papa, what’s going on?” the girl whimpered clinging onto his leg as he stood up to his towering 6’5” height. Grimacing he knew what was about to happen and prayed to the gods that his daughter would forgive him. As soldiers rounded the corner into the tiny room they stood within, the child saw the swords that were drawn and immediately began to cry at the frightening men. “Hand the child over!” one of the soldiers stepped forward demanding the girl. Hearing that they wanted her, she clung tighter onto her father’s pant leg refusing to let go. “You know the law! Hand the girl over before we force you!” a second soldier snarled lunging forward and snagging the child from the man’s grasp. As he tried to fight back to protect his child, he gasped in shock looking down to see a third soldiers’ sword impaling him in the stomach. “Forgive… me…. Misun,” the male choked out as blood dripped from the corner of his lip. Seeing her father like this, the child screamed in fright as the group of soldiers dispersed leaving the male to his death. “PAPA!!!” she screamed before a hit to the back of her neck caused her to slip into unconsciousness.

Hello everyone, I've decided to start a new story because this idea for a card story has been running rampant in my mind recently and I finally had a chance to start writing everything down. I know there's maybe a handful of card stories currently posted on AFF and the theme is always the same, so I figured I would change it up a bit. I hope everyone enjoys this story! Thank you so much!
