Chapter One

As Jessica stepped out into the airport with her younger sister Krystal’s hand tightly held in hers she began looking for her brother’s assistant who is picking them up. A fresh start is what Jessica and Krystal needs with family around them to help cope with everything. 

After living in France for just under 7 years it was time for them to return but also a time for them to mourn the loss of their mother. 

“Are you okay, Krystal? Do you need me to get you anything?” The older sister asked while Krystal while the latter just shrugged her shoulders and looked around. It wasn't her first time in Korea but each time that they came to visit was like as if it was the first time.

The eight year old looked around wondering when she would see someone she knows when she spotted her oldest brother standing to the side. She quickly let go of her sisters hand and rushed forward towards the male screaming “Oppa” as she went. 

Jessica not feeling her younger sisters hand in hers panicked as she tried to see over the crowd to who she was running towards but only to calm down when she saw it was her brother. 

“Krystal that was not funny or was it safe.” 

Krystal simply pouted and apologised for her behaviour while Jessica lovingly kissed her forehead and told her she was forgiven but must never do it again.

Jessica’s POV:

“Oppa, we missed you” 

I turned to hug my eldest brother who was watching us amused with our antics. It warmed my heart knowing that he must have cancelled an important meeting just to be here with us. I started tearing up knowing that this time is different. There is no more goodbyes after this as we will no longer need to go back home as this is now home. 

“It’s okay Sica, you’re home now.”

I simply nodded and thanked him for personally coming to pick us up. I grabbed Krystal’s hands in mine again and followed Yunho towards the car that he came in while he promised that the staff will be bring all of our things to the house. 

“So…” Yunho turned to look at me after he safely put Krystal in the car. I know what he wanted to say and I simply shook my head letting him know that this is not the time. He took my hand in his and kissed the back of it with a knowing look. 

“I’m fine. A little tired but fine…”

After getting to the massive house where I know our father will be waiting I know that Krystal is tired. 

“Oppa, can you take Krystal to her room? I’m going to go see dad”

He picked her up from the car while she slept soundly on his shoulder.

“Takes after you Sica. Such heavy sleepers”

“Hey! You’re one to talk! You sleep like there’s not tomorrow so technically we take after you, old man”

“I am not old” Yunho replied glaring at me while I just rolled my eyes at him and gave out a laugh.

“Sica bunny?” 

I whipped around just in time to see my dad walk through the front door and I couldn’t hold it in longer. The tears started pouring and I ran into his embrace. 

“Shhh it’s okay my bunny.”

“Daddy, she’s gone. Mum’s gone.”
