When Two Worlds Collide

A Week of Being Acquaintances, What's Next?

DAY 00

“So, what do we do now?” Jun asked, not knowing how to break the ice. No one had the answer to that.

They were all gathered at the living room now. Even after everything, Soonyoung was still able to release his bladder a while ago in the other normal bathroom. So, everything’s good – well, not really applicable to what they’re experiencing right now. Everybody seemed to be at a loss for words, blankly staring into space. Suddenly, Minghao stood up and headed towards the not-normal bathroom yet again. As he reached for the door, he opened it and after a few seconds, closed it. Then, he opened and closed it again. He did this a few times until one of the members spoke up and asked him what he was exactly doing. Minghao struggled to find the right words to explain his thoughts.

“It’s not going away,” was all he could say.

“Well, of course, it’s not. How do you expect one whole area to suddenly disappear or magically go away?” Seungkwan replied in a matter of fact tone. As much as it made sense, at the same time, it didn’t. Not when your bathroom suddenly did transform into another person’s room.

After a few awkward moments, it was like Joshua’s mind lit up when he remembered something. He adjusted himself on his seat, trying to get something out of his pocket. The others noticed this and watched him patiently as he laid it out for all of them to see.

“I just remembered, I found this by the desk a while ago,” he explained as he held out what seems to be a smartphone protected in its transparent phone casing with a keychain of a star in two exact halves dangling from it, “I figured if we can find out who owns this, we might be able to get some answers on what’s exactly happening and why we are even in this situation in the first place.”

All of them huddled in a circle and examined the phone, except for Chan who seemed to be a bit hesitant.

“Isn’t it… a bit rude to get someone’s phone and go through its contents without permission…?”

Seungkwan couldn’t help but make a face with a sarcastic ‘Are you serious?’ plastered all over it. It was Soonyoung instead who spoke up for him.

Really? You choose this time to worry about being rude when someone else has taken hold of our bathroom.” He unconsciously said with a sarcastic tone, a tone Soonyoung rarely even uses except when he’s on the edge of something but Chan paid no attention to it since they’re all used to how everyone acts and knew Soonyoung didn’t mean to be that harsh.

“Uwahh~ Look at its lock screen. It’s so beautiful.” Minghao held the phone up for everyone to see. The image displayed on the lock screen was of an elegant breath-taking night sky full of stars.

“Whoa, it is! ~ She seems to like stars, no?” Chan commented as he gestured to the keychain dangling from it.

“I bet, the owner is just as beautiful as it is.” Jun playfully remarked, earning whacks and an ‘aishh’ from the rest.

“It has a lock code,” said Minghao as he swiped the phone open and turned to the others, “what’s the most common password you can think of? 4-digits.”

“1-2-3-4?” Jun suggested.

Incorrect!

“How about try putting in all the consecutive numbers and see all the combinations you could make? Like 2-3-4-5, 3-4-5-6, etc.” Seungkwan proposed.

Minghao did, but still…

Incorrect!

“Um, 2-5-8-0?” Chan said, explaining how it’s just a simple downward direction on the keypad.

Incorrect!

“Try 2-0-4-6.” Joshua thought if the owner could possibly be a Christian, most likely, she might have the sign of the cross as her passcode.

Incorrect!

“Why not 0-0-0-0?” Lastly, Soonyoung gave his suggestion.

“Seriously? Why’d you even put a lock?” Seungkwan commented.

“Hey! Lots of people have it as their password! No one would even think you’d have something that easy as your lock code,” Soonyoung confidently defended his brilliant idea, “go try it out with all the numbers, go on.”

And so, Minghao continued on typing on the keypad and entering all the numbers. However, yet again…

Incorrect!

“Okay, never mind…” Everyone looked at Soonyoung, some trying hard to stifle their laughs, while he held an awkward apologetic smile and sighed in defeat.

“What about the person you both saw? Where did she go?” Jun turned to the two witnesses, Chan and Soonyoung, while they left Joshua and Minghao to figure out the passcode.

Person? We’re not even sure if –” Soonyoung looked around as if someone was watching them and lowered down his voice, not getting rid of the exaggeration in his tone and almost whispering, “she’s alive at all, to begin with.”

“Aishh, hyung… stop it! You’re giving me the creeps.” Chan elbowed his hyung and immediately shook off the possible idea of a… someone, or something, or whatever it is lurking in their bathroom.

“Please, let’s just not go into that.” Seungkwan simply stated, half-pleading.

“Seungkwan’s right. Chill out, guys. Remember that one room we couldn’t open a while ago?” Minghao looked up from what they were doing and tried to let the members recall the only room inside the bathroom-turned-into-room, which they suspected was its bathroom (oh gosh no, bathroom-ception), “maybe… just maybe, that person is in there that’s why we can’t –”

“But, we tried knocking and everything. No one was answering.” replied Chan. Soonyoung nodded in agreement.

“Maybe, something happened…?” Jun tried to be positive-minded and thought of other reasons but in their state right now, he couldn’t really think that properly, “Or… I don’t know.”

“We could try again later, if you guys want.” Joshua finally spoke up, though not taking off his sight at the phone he’s cracking.

“Josh! Got anything?” Soonyoung asked, almost jumping from his seat.

“Still got nothing,” Joshua replied, his thumbs skipping from place to place on the phone screen, “The passcode might be something more personal to the owner. I’m gonna try putting in every combination I could make.”

“Hyung, FIGHTING!!” Everyone cheered, and it looked like they would cry out of tears of gratefulness.

-0O0-

“You know what, maybe, we’re just too tired now that we’re seeing things. Right? Okay? Okay.” Said Soonyoung who still can’t seem to sit still. He was trying to convince everyone and himself that this might be some sort of mistake. Something caused by their fatigue, or something more reasonable than ghosts or the works of some unknown phenomenon.

“Wow, you just did the ‘Fault in Our Stars’ thing all by yourself.” Seungkwan yet commented again, looking at Soonyoung like he just made the lamest pun or joke.

“Ow! Yah!” And of course, Seungkwan earned a playful whack on the head for this.

Everyone was back to being restless and not knowing what to do while the two, Joshua and Minghao, were left to crack the code. One of the most nerve-wracking things anyone could experience was to wait and not know what to expect. Out of the blue, Chan, who couldn’t bare the tension any longer, suddenly spoke up.

“Shouldn’t we call a plumber? Or the police? Or a paranormal investigator?” Chan suggested. It was the most rational thing he could think of at the moment.

“Mingyu,” Joshua exclaimed as if he found the solution to all of their problems, “Mingyu! Call Mingyu! Or whoever’s with him!”

They dialed his number and waited for him to pick up the phone. As soon as he picked up, everyone erupted and spoke up at the same time, cruelly hurting Mingyu’s eardrums.

“Okay, everyone, calm down. One at a time. Just one person here. Wait, I’m gonna put this on speaker,” everyone could hear Mingyu shuffling from the other side, “Hello?”

“Hello?” Jeonghan.

“Hello?” Chan.

“Guys, what happened?” Seokmin.

“There seems to be… a situation here back at home –” Joshua.

“Situation? What kind? Hyung?”

“No. Not hyung –” Minghao immediately retorted as if everyone already knew which hyung Mingyu was talking about.

“Yah! That was one time! Only one time –” Soonyoung replied defensively, as the memory of that one time when Soonyoung accidentally made the microwave explode flashbacked to everyone’s minds. They didn’t even know what he put inside because when they took it out, it was already burnt to a crisp, and Soonyoung didn’t want to tell anyone anything.

“Anyways. Uh… room. Yeah, the bathroom –” Minghao attempted again.

“But the bathroom just got fixed yesterday. What happened again?” Jeonghan.

“No, no, no. The other bathroom! And it’s different this time –” Seungkwan.

“Uh, what do we do? How can we explain this? It’s sort of –” Chan.

“Wait, we’re already here. Let’s just talk there later upstairs.” Mingyu interrupted.

“Okay. Just see for yourselves then –” Jun.

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

And with that, the call ended and everyone waited until they were all settled in the living room.

-0O0-

“What… just… happened… ?!” You still managed to mutter in between catching your breath.

Your hand quickly found the door knob and almost without thinking, you locked it instantly. You still haven’t recovered, or rather, couldn’t recover from what had just happen seconds ago. It felt like everything was in fast-forward motion, flying past by you before you could even have control of anything.

You went to fetch the door and was hoping to send the person who has mistaken your flat for someone else’s away nicely when suddenly, you were instead greeted by a blond cabbage-haired guy and an auburn who wore a dominant black snapback who both screamed at your face. It weirded you out, made you confused, and scared the heck out of you. Seriously, what normal person would do something like that? You couldn’t help but also let out a shriek at the sudden encounter, slamming the door shut at their faces. A lot of things ran through your mind – was this some sort of prank? Or worse, some modus operandi that could get you badly hurt? Who were they? What did they want from you? Or were they just simply crazy bastards who were looking for some fun?

At this point, you were ready to call for help, grasping your cellphone and already dialing the emergency hotline if the situation calls for it. You suddenly felt the adrenaline flow through every part of you and you couldn’t seem to enter the numbers well because of your trembling hands. However, in the midst of everything that was happening, something felt amiss. Usually, when you felt something was out of place, that’s because there really was something out of place. You racked your brain for whatever that seemed unusual and quickly surveyed your surroundings. That’s when it hit you. You forgot to lock the – damn – door. You immediately put everything down, knocking some of your things down in the process and headed straight towards the door, but it was too late. Before you could even reach the knob, you could see it already turning, indicating someone was about to enter. It was at this instant where everything was in a mess and you didn’t know what’s going on anymore. All you could think of was ‘I have to protect myself. I can’t just die here right now,’ already expecting the worst.

As the door to your dorm opened, you backed up to your desk and threw anything that you could get hold of to your pursuers. You saw that the people in front of your flat has now multiplied, and now, there were three of them. This made you panic even more. You knew you couldn’t fight off 3 persons by yourself all at once. So, the moment when you saw that they were occupied by the things you threw, you absentmindedly got one of your chopsticks and held it in defense, while you sprinted and took refuge inside your bathroom.

Now, you were back to the present.

You looked down at your hands, and it was still shaky, with no signs of subsiding. You clasped it together, in the hopes of making it stop. Now that you’ve gotten back a bit of your composure, you mentally whacked yourself at the crazy idea of having a metal chopstick as your weapon for defense. Stabbing wasn’t really your thing. You were more of a shooting or hitting kind of person – not that you had any prior experience to that. Another mental smack on the head for even having those kinds of thoughts. You had put down the metal stick you were holding by the sink, and had slumped down to the cold hard tiles while letting everything sink in (pun not intended).

Just as you were about to finally calm down, you suddenly heard footsteps and inaudible voices outside. But now, the yelling has lessened and you could hear them talking in a much more decent tone. Meanwhile, you were stuck inside a bathroom and it seemed that the fear couldn’t leave your body.

“The freaking fudging frick…! Oh my goodness… what do I do?” you quietly mumbled to yourself as you looked for a way to get out of this mess, or something that could help you at the moment.

You frantically searched through all of your pockets for your phone, and suddenly realized what a big fool you are that you freaking left your damn phone on your desk. You immediately stopped yourself, putting both of your hands over your mouth, from releasing a loud stressed out, irritated groan before you could attract the attention of the people who were just right outside your bathroom.

While crouched down, you made your way to the door and pressed your ear to it as you tried to eavesdrop on their conversation. Everything that came out was almost in gibberish, and you couldn’t understand a thing except for that one thing someone said about ‘It isn’t at all.’ You had no idea what that person was talking about but you had confirmed that they were definitely Korean.

You waited for them for minutes, hoping that they’ll leave once they get the idea that no one’s in the house. You didn’t care if they stole your things. Or get the money you’ve been saving for 2 years in your fragile piggybank. All you cared about now is staying alive so you could call for help, and still go back to see and be with your precious family. However, it seemed like they won’t be going anywhere any time soon, as you still heard noises coming from outside. You didn’t know what to do. The only window in the bathroom was too small for you to fit and escape. You had no choice but to stay inside the bathroom where it’s the safest and wait for someone to notice your situation and rescue you, even if you disliked the idea of being a damsel in distress.

“Achoo!” a quiet sneeze couldn’t help but escape from you.

You felt some snot trickling down your nose yet again, so you decided to get a roll of tissue from your toiletry-slash-medicine cabinet. But as you hoisted yourself up, the sharp pain had once again occupied your head, and this time it was two times more sore than a while ago. You then remembered your unfinished noodles left at your desk, and why the heck cosmos didn’t even let you finish it first before… everything… all… this.

After sneezing and clearing up all the unwanted snot, you got your towel (thankfully, it was still somehow dry) and wrapped it around yourself to cover you from the chilly air the weather was making. You heaved a relaxing sigh as you felt the warmth embrace all of your already warm body. If they would take a long time before they leave and before someone would come to help, might as well get some rest, you thought. After all the uproar and the rollercoaster ride of emotions you had experienced today, it wasn’t that hard for you to fall asleep. You didn’t even notice the locked door knob of the bathroom shaking and voices calling out from outside, as you fell deeper into your slumber and eventually passed out.

-0O0-

“So… what you’re saying is… our bathroom which was actually a bathroom… has a ghost living in it… and at one point, transformed to another kind of room, and it even seems like it belongs to someone…?” Mingyu said while trying to take in everything that the members said, quietly pondering with his one hand on his mouth. Jeonghan was quiet. No one could guess what he was thinking. Meanwhile, Seokmin tried to read the faces of the rest of their members, thinking that this has got to be the lamest prank they’ve ever pulled.

Pfft. Really, guys? I bet there are hidden cameras around here.” With a wide smile on his face, Seokmin looked around the area to search for the cameras but when he saw the faces of the members, especially Seungkwan’s, he realized they probably weren’t joking at all.

The members who had just arrived couldn’t take what the rest had said seriously. Never have they encountered any supernatural occurrence during their 3 years stay in their dorm. Or, no one hasn’t spoken up about it yet, so they guessed it wasn’t really a big deal. But now, what?

“Come, look.” Jun simply said as he led Jeonghan, Mingyu and Seokmin to the bathroom. The seriousness and panic in everyone’s tone couldn’t help but make them anxious.

They had previously cleaned up the mess that was scattered in front and took them back to the room where it was originally from. They didn’t really know where which ones go where, so when Jeonghan opened the door, there were greeted by an even more chaotic mess. Everyone was silent, and the echo of the creaking door was the only thing that could be heard. All of the Team House boys just stared and waited for the reaction of the Team Chicken boys. They could see Mingyu, Jeonghan, and Seokmin’s eyes widened and each held a dumbfounded face. It was Mingyu who broke the silence first.

“Wha – ?!” he let out a gasp as he held out his hands in front of him and waved it around as if trying to feel the air or space around if it was really real.

Meanwhile, Jeonghan and Seokmin was already inside the room looking around, although Jeonghan was still cautious of moving his feet around. Seokmin turned and just looked at the rest of the guys, still hoping to find any hint that this was all just made-up, but they all just stared back at him in return. Leaving Jeonghan and Mingyu by the room, he dashed out and went inside one of their bedrooms which was just next to what once was their bathroom. He briefly but carefully touched the walls that was also connected to the bathroom, inspecting it. He returned to them, and was occupied with only one thought in his mind: How?

“How is this even possible? I mean, setting aside our bathroom suddenly turning into something that seems like someone’s flat, the dimensions of the room exceed the original – it’s larger than our bathroom’s!” Seokmin blurted out, gesturing with his hands in a large circular motion, “And it doesn’t even affect the rooms next to it. It’s still in its usual place. What?

Even Seokmin was confused with what he just said. Everything made no sense. And they couldn’t see any possible reason why this happened.

“See! We told ya –!”

“But, everything looks legit, that’s for sure.” Jeonghan finally spoke.

Unlike the others, Jeonghan had already somewhat adjusted to the situation. After looking through the books and notebooks laid around, he was now in the middle of raiding the missing owner’s mini fridge.

“Look at the sketchpad and notebook on the desk, go see the date.” he told them, so the rest of the members went inside and did what Jeonghan told.

Everyone huddled by the desk and went through every paper they could get. They couldn’t help but be distracted and amazed of what they saw instead of going through their original intention. In different shades and hues, there laid drawings of landscapes and places in different angles, sketches of various persons in a distinct art style, and doodles of still life objects, covering almost two-thirds of the desk. They were very much impressed and at awe to whoever owns the hand that made all of it.

“Hey, guys. Look, isn’t this Namsan Tower?” Minghao held up one of the notebooks that held a painted ink doodle of the famous N Seoul Tower in the corner of one of its pages.

“Whoa, this person’s really daebak…!” Seungkwan remarked, he couldn’t contain his admiration anymore.

“Look, it’s just from last April,” Seokmin said as he pointed out on the date on the upper left corner of the page, “it seems like a journal entry.”

“Air…er…pu…airplane…?” Seungkwan tried to read one of the words.

“I’m… I’m pretty…!” Chan read also, as he jokingly made a pretty cute pose.

“It’s pretty fine, Chan-ah…” Mingyu interrupted, with a small smirk forming on his face and eventually laughing it off.

As much as they wanted to read the words that spanned from page to page, their limited knowledge of the English language hindered them from doing so. Thus, the Joshua from L.A. came to their rescue.

“According here,” Joshua paused before continuing further, “the person went to South Korea for the first time last April together with her two best friends. It seems like she really isn’t a fan of Korea but it doesn’t mean she didn’t like it either. But since, this was her first out-of-the-country travel, she’s pretty excited about it. Actually, when she set foot here, she was so amazed of everything and began to see the beauty of Korea.”

“One of the places they visited was Namsan Tower, so that’s probably why there’s a drawing of this,” Joshua pointed to the sketch on the corner, “and the rest is all about her experience here.”

Everyone just nodded in understanding.

“And look, this one is just from yesterday!” Chan exclaimed to one of the drawings on another paper and Jun held the sketchpad for everyone to see.

And there seems to be some unfinished ramen here…” Jeonghan said as he pointed out the bowl that lay somewhere on the table.

“So, that means…” Jun looked to Soonyoung as if trying to tell him something.

“That means,” Soonyoung was confused at first but then, when he finally got it, he couldn’t help but exclaim in relief, “there’s no ghost! SHE COULDN’T BE A GHOST.”

“How could you even conclude she’s a ghost?” Mingyu jokingly asked Soonyoung.

“Then…”

“Then, where’s this ghost person you’re all taking about?” Jeonghan finished Jun’s sentence, “You said you still saw her in the room after the ruckus and just before you all went in.”

“Plus, even if she wanted to, she couldn’t escape anywhere in this heavy weather.” Jun gestured at the lone window in the flat.

“Wait. Wait a minute. Rain? But, it’s not pouring down outside.” Mingyu interjected, recalling the sky they had witnessed that was slowly turning into night.

“Another point,” Soonyoung commented, “this could only mean that this area is from another place. Where? That we don’t know.”

“Okay so now, we know four things: 1) that our bathroom turned into someone’s house,” Jeonghan stated.

“2) the owner of this house is not a ghost and is breathing and actually alive,” Chan.

“3) this place that’s connected to ours is from another place that we still have yet to know,” Minghao.

“But 4) we just don’t know if everything, all that’s happening right now, is real.” Seokmin ended.

“Argh, we’re just repeating and repeating, and going around in circles!” Seungkwan suddenly butted in, “for now, we’ve got to find that person so we could ask all of our remaining questions.”

“Yeah, good point.” Everyone agreed and proceeded to look around and every corner of the place, but they didn’t know that Mingyu was already far ahead of them.

“Uh, guys… is this already locked from the start?” Mingyu asked, trying to unlock the knob of the door inside the flat and failing.

“Yeah, we already tried opening it and calling out to someone, in case someone was inside.” Jun replied, as he scooted over to where Mingyu was.

“Wait here,” was all that Mingyu said before disappearing back into their dorm.

“What’s he gonna do?” Soonyoung questioned, as he stood up from his place just finishing checking under the covers and bed. Jun just shrugged and muttered an ‘I don’t know.’

Mingyu returned with something that seemed like a hairpin, a screwdriver, a hammer, and a bunch of things that looked like he’s gonna take down something, which wasn’t far from his intention.

Heol… are you serious?” Seungkwan mumbled, as he just finished looking through the cupboards.

“Well, if it’s Mingyu, that’s just nothing for him ~” cheered Jeonghan by the desk, browsing through the shelves.

“Yah! You’re making it sound like I pick locks on a daily basis.”

“Well, if it’s the housewife and handyman Mingyu, that’s just nothing for him ~”

“Better.”

-0O0-

It took a few minutes of tinkering and tampering before the mystery room was finally unlocked. However, the door knob had met a terrible fate, hanging loosely from its frame and was now far from being fixed again. As soon as they heard it click, everyone became still. Mingyu could only look up to his friends who were behind him, waiting for their next move.

“Now, what?” asked Mingyu as he stood up.

“Hey, you’re the one who opened it,” Jun could only nervously laugh about the matter, trying to lift up the heavy tension around, “and now, you ask us?”

“Ehh but…”

But before anyone could say another word, Minghao had stepped forward and had already cautiously pushed the door open.

“Yah!”

“AAAH!”

“What the fudge –!!”

“UWAHH!”

No one was ready for it, and they even had no idea what to expect. So when the door had finally revealed what was behind it, almost every one of them had stepped and even ran back to their dorm at the sight of it. Jeonghan, Minghao, Joshua, Jun and Mingyu were the only ones left inside the room.

As expected, the mystery room that they have unlocked was really the bathroom of that flat. Even with the light bouncing off its pale buttercream walls and whitewashed tiled flooring, the area looked rather dull. Not to mention, that there in front of them laid a seemingly lifeless body sprawled out on the floor.

It was a girl.

Only a towel had been protecting her barely-covered body from the chill, and it was even messily draped across her. Her hair was also in chaos, going in different directions and covering almost half of her face.

“What the… oh my goodness… !!” exclaimed Joshua. All the others were too shocked or too terrified to even respond and had the sense to know what to do.

“I-is… is she, you know –” Mingyu asked, hoping what he’s thinking was wrong.

“Omo, shouldn’t we call for an ambulance? Or the police? Or, something?” Jeonghan suggested, half-panicking.

Minghao had immediately grabbed the first thing he could reach, which was one of the pillows from the bed, and carefully approached the unresponsive being and gently prodded her with the pillow. The pillow was supposed to be a defense mechanism, just in case she suddenly comes back to life and turns out to be what Soonyoung thought she was and hunted them down.

However, even though Minghao had gotten no response, looking at the girl more closely, he could see that she was breathing. She was alive. But, from the looks of it, she was far from being okay.

“Guys, guys. Look, she’s alive! No blood or anything! See –” Minghao gestured for them to come closer, “she’s breathing!”

“Oh god, what happened to her?” Mingyu asked, hastily approaching them, “she’s the one, right? The one we’re looking for?”

Minghao had already dropped the pillow to the side and was examining the girl. Jun was beside him and he already knew that something was wrong. She was breathing, yes. But, she was unconscious and was breathing heavily than normal.

“I think so.” Jeonghan had replied, answering the question that was all in their minds.

Mingyu brushed off the hair that was covering the girl’s face and placed his hand on her forehead. Unexpectedly, they had witnessed a small reaction from the unconscious girl at the contact, mumbling some incoherent words and what sounded like ‘mom’ to them. She was warm, a good sign that blood’s still keeping her alive, but she’s burning up. There was no need to say it out loud. It was a kind of telepathy they had ever since between the thirteen of them. Everyone already understood each other and had read the situation. There was no time to waste.

“We’ve got to get her out of here and to somewhere more comfortable,” said Mingyu.

This had brought out the protective and caring older brother side of him and Jeonghan, both used to having younger sisters and looking after them. Mingyu had immediately taken off his grey hoodie and after putting the girl into a sitting position, he slipped the jacket on her, with some assistance from Minghao who was closest to the girl.

“Here,” Joshua said, as he handed them a somewhat thick blanket he got from the bed, “she might need this.”

Jeonghan had gotten the blanket and wrapped it around the lower portion of the girl. When he was done, he abruptly stood up and told them, “I’ll go get the others,” gaining nods from the rest of the members.

“Here, let me.” Joshua volunteered to carry her in bridal style so as not to be in the way of the blanket covering the girl’s exposed legs. He was also one of the few people among them who could carry people this way. Joshua was very careful where to put his hands on, not wanting to do any wrong on the unconscious person. He propped her up into his arms and thankfully, he could manage the weight just right.

Joshua and the others had made their way to the living room, placing the sick girl on one of the beds and accommodating her the best that they can, while Mingyu was left to close the entrance to the other side of reality they were simply forced to face. Mingyu had gotten out his phone and dialed someone’s number.

“Hello? What’s up?” the receiver on the other end spoke, having a familiar voice that seemed to hold all the comfort and relief of the world as soon as Mingyu heard his voice. He was the person everyone runs to whenever they had problems, complains or things that they didn’t know what to do.

“Uh…hyung. I think… you have to come home right now ASAP. Plus, it’s about time for dinner.”

“Yeah, okay. We’re actually heading home already, just gonna finish packing up.”

“Ah, okay, okay.”

“Why? Is there something wrong?” Seungcheol asked, noticing the hint of tension in Mingyu’s voice.

“U-umm… no, no! I mean, yeah but – argh, just come home and we’ll explain everything.” 'As much as we could,' Mingyu thought as he ended the call.
