One Family

Description

JTBC has created a new reality show: One Family. The show documents how two idol groups of the opposite live together under one roof for a period of 6 months. Teams are formed in order to create a song every month, and the winning team receives a prize as well as the chance to perform it on a special stage for a music show.

C.H.A.M.P.ions have just debuted, and these five girls are taking up South Korea by storm with their feminist and self-producing concepts. As the first and only idol group of Blossom Entertainment, they have a lot of expectations to live up to. Aera, their leader, has a male idol phobia that no one has ever heard the cause of, and it puts her in the worst of situations with the people she lives with. Their lives change as they are paired up for One Family with the 13 boys from SEVENTEEN, who just made their comeback with Pretty U.

“I feel so lacking towards my members.” Aera said, looking down at her cup of tea. “It’s mostly with trivial things.” Wonwoo stared at her, listening intently with a serious expression. He had his hand resting on his neck, nodding carefully at her words. His initial image seemed to melt away with every word that she spoke, thinking she was just this serious and boring person she made herself seem like. Her introduction earlier left everyone with a chill down their spine, and he thought approaching her would be extremely difficult. “And they always think of me in the smallest ways, like today at dinner.” She sighed, thinking how Chaerin brought the fork over to her. “I could never eat well with chopsticks, they always slip from my grasp, especially the metallic ones.”

Wonwoo smiled towards her. He couldn’t help but think they were alike a little, quiet and reserved in social situations. He was opening up a bit more than before, he thought she was going to slowly open up to him too. He suddenly got up and walked towards the kitchen. After a bit of rustling, he came back with a pair of chopsticks and sat down next to the leader. She regarded him questioningly, thinking he wanted to eat something.

“I’ll teach you.” He said, and that made Aera crack a small smile. He felt slightly proud that he could see it, since coming here she barely showed any emotions apart from her stoic expression. He put them in between his fingers and clicked them rapidly before turning them around and handing them to her. He carefully pointed to the key areas on her hand that will hold the chopsticks in place without ever touching her, and she tried it. Of course no luck, and she almost took his eye out.

Their eyes met and she gave out a small laugh, trying again. This time, he bowed his head and apologized, reaching for her fingers to help her out.

“Oh? Why is your hand so cold?” he laughed. She felt like pulling it away, but his grip was tight on her.

“My body has trouble regulating heat.” She said in a small voice. “It’s not threatening or anything, it’s very common actually.” His hands were still resting on hers, and he looked back at her as she spoke.

“Look at you two being cute together.”

They both turned around at the sound of a disembodied voice, and noticed Jeonghan walking towards them. Wonwoo hesitantly let go of her hand, and cleared his throat. The long-haired male gave the pair a sly grin, shaking his head while walking towards the fridge to grab a bottle of water. Wonwoo resorted to whispering the directions to Aera, and she attempted it again. She managed to click them once together before one of them slipped out of her hand and landed loudly on the table. Jeonghan took a sip of water, staring intently at the pair sitting at the dining table in the faint light. He pursed his lips, frowning a little.

“What kind of a Korean person are you?” Jeonghan asked. “You can’t even hold chopsticks…” He shook his head and strode over to her, and leaned over her shoulder. “Yah she’ll never get it with this.” He said. He brought the chopsticks in his hand, and Aera noticed it was the exact same way Wonwoo had shown her. She glanced to the side at him, and he simply shrugged with a gentle smile.

Chapter 1: It's well written and I'm liking it so far. I wonder what's the issue with Jeonghan and Aera though.
