Prelude
Dear Friend
Raindrops are hammering down on the roof, leaving its marks onto the windows before it glides off. He looks out aimlessly at the gloomy weather outside. Everything in his head is slowly rewinding like a film roll unravels its stories before his very eyes. All the memories, the joy, the laughter and the numbing pain he is going through right now. He could feel his heart tightens more and more as he clenches his teeth and fists in attempt to suppress all these emotions he is feeling. A drop of warm tear already drips. He lets it run down his face with no intention of wiping it. As if it is the only source of comfort in this lonely hour. A sob escapes his mouth, echoing off the four walls, reflecting and reminding the reality he can’t flee. He opens his eyes and blankly stares into a piece of paper, wishing what he sees aren’t really what he sees. But the harder he tries to resist, all the regrets he holds begin flooding in like a river with no ends.

He again rubs his watery eyes aiming to clear the tunnel vision. No matter how many times he tries, the printed name of the bride and groom wouldn’t change only to vividly imprint deeper and engraving onto his bleeding broken heart.
If he could turn back time, if he could really turn back time, he wouldn’t dare let her go to someone else. He would hold onto her with all his might. He would go down on his knees begging for her love. He wouldn’t just watch her cry a tear or go through sleepless nights from the heartache those other guys had given her. He wouldn’t just sit still being her best ‘guy’ friend that he was. He would bare his heart out for her, lets she knows how much she means to him. But it is all too late now. He simply just cannot turn back the time or recalling back all the things he has done.
She will be marrying someone else, being someone’s vitamin, ray of sunshine and never his. The realization hits him like a homerun, Kim Yugyeom’s knees gave out as his back slides down the cold wall. He buries his head in between his two knees and for the second time in 26 years of his life, he cries and cries for the long gone love of his life.
