MAGNETIC - GOT7

That night after taking her bath, Yoonjung received the inevitable call from her mother. She took out her phone and cringed when she saw her mother’s name flashing in her screen. Reluctantly, she answered the call.

“He…llo?”

Yoonjung? Is what your brothers telling me true? Are you dating another idol?

Her mother’s ever soft and loving voice asked through the other line. Yoonjung sighed and sat down on the edge of her bed. She threw her towel on the laundry basket and softly mumbled a reply.

How come I’m always late with this kind of information? Is he a good guy? How come your company isn’t saying anything yet? Are you really dating him?

Yoonjung couldn’t help but laugh. As much as she hated lying to her mother, she didn’t want to disappoint her. For years and years she had badgered her into dating and now, her life-long wish was about to come true.

“Mhm. He’s good to me. And he’s really handsome, mom. I think you’ll like him.”

As long as you love him, dear. That’s good enough. Bring him over sometime, okay? And tell Chan, I said hi. You should rest now.

The line went dead and Yoonjung sighed. “Love? I don’t even know him.”

Yoonjung placed her phone on her bedside table and drifted off to sleep.

-o-o-o-o-o-o-

Yoonjung jolted up as he heard the shrill noise of her doorbell. Yawning, she stepped out of her room and clicked the intercom.

“Yah, are you awake now?  Hurry up and open! It’s freaking cold here.”

“What? Who’s this?” Yoonjung asked groggily.

“It’s Mark!”

Yoonjung’s eyes snapped open as she turned to the screen. True enough, Mark was standing outside her door, rubbing his hands. Yoonjung screamed as she went inside her room and took her bathrobe in a flash. She quickly opened the door with Mark looking up and down at her. He stepped inside and sighed at the warm home.

“How do you know I live here? More importantly, what are you doing here?” Yoonjung asked while squinting her eyes at him.

Mark raised an eyebrow and sat on her sofa. Yoonjung muttered about how he was feeling at home already and crossed her arms. He gestured to her clothes with a questioning look. Yoonjung, who was already not feeling the morning, glared at him. “What?!”

“You didn’t know we have a schedule?”

“What schedule?”

“After School Club. We’re going to announce our relationship today.”

Yoonjung’s eyes widened. She opened to speak but nothing came out. Mark sighed and waved her away. “Go, take a bath. I’ll explain on the way.”

Yoonjung scoffed but turned around, muttering incoherent words under her breath. Mark followed her figure and couldn’t help but laugh. Her hair was sticking out to all places, but being the gentleman he was, he didn’t bother mentioning it. He let his eyes roam around her place and couldn’t but adore the monochromatic setting. He had to give it to Yoonjung, she knew how to decorate the place.

Mark’s eyes flitted down to her bookshelf. It had five layers and one layer was specifically for photos. He walked over and scanned each photo. He took one photo with her on it. Yoonjung was wearing a bright red dress that showed the right curves of her body. Mark smiled and returned it. He saw another photograph, this time with a much younger version of Yoonjung. She was holding out a peace sign while a familiar looking guy was grinning beside her holding a bunch of big, red crabs. Where have I seen him?

He saw another frame with two identical looking siblings that resembled Yoonjung. They had identical clothes, identical beams on their handsome faces and identical mischief in their eyes.

“Mark? What are you staring at?” Yoonjung asked.

“Mother— you scared me.” Mark responded. He cleared his throat and gestured to the shelf. “Just some photos. Are they your brothers?” Mark pointed to the last frame on the right. Yoonjung chuckled and nodded. “They sure are. They’re the Fred and George of our family. Aren’t we going?”

“Oh.. right. Let’s go.” Mark glanced at second frame with a frown. How about him?

“So… what’s with the After School Club?” Yoonjung asked after they settled in the van.

“Your CEO gave our CEO the permission to choose which show to announce our relationship. He didn’t want to choose since it might biased, so let me choose. It so happens I have filming for it.” Mark explained.

“The producer must be ecstatic to know we’re guesting.” Yoonjung muttered.

Mark chuckled and patted Yoonjung’s head. “Just relax and follow my lead. You speak English, don’t you?”

“Of course.”

“Then you’re ready.”

-o-o-o-o-o-o-

Yoonjung nervously glanced at the hoard of producers and directors. Sure, she had been to a lot of shows but this time it different. After today, her life would be officially changed. She sighed and glanced at Mark. He was talking to Eric Nam and nodded a few tim
