After the seventh time you turn around in your sleeping bag you give up on sleep, ping the waterproof material of the tent and stepping out, relishing the feel of the cool sand between your toes and the night breeze that brings in the scent of the sea.

Sleepily, you blink twice, almost missing the tail that whips in and out of the water's surface, scales reflecting the moonlight and casting the silvery light out towards the shore, illuminating the figure in the water, broad shoulders bare, eyes a startling green and mouth open in song.

His voice is breathtakingly beautiful and some part of you realises the song is for you, words in a language you don't understand, carried by his lilting melody and you return to your sleeping bag, feeling yourself lulled to sleep in no time at all.
