Parallel Lines

Description

Loyalty, a strong feeling of support or allegiance for a person.

Faith, complete trust or confidence in someone.

Selfless, concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with one's own.

That's him. Kim Jong Kook.

Foreword

“How do I look?” Honey turned around as her long wedding dress swiftly tailed behind her.

I held my thumb up and smiled. She copied me with her thumb up too.

“Just this?” She was upset and pouted. I chuckled as she pursed her lips together and sat on the chair with her legs cross and arms folded.

“Why?”

She turned around to me with her pouty face. “I put in so much effort to look the best today and all I get is a thumbs up?”

I pinched her chubby cheeks that bounced off the lights. She was so cute, even when she’s upset.

“Don’t you know what thumbs up mean?” I imitated the move again but she only stared at me with her small doe eyes. “Arasso. You are beautiful, perfect. Wow, I love it.”

“Really?”

“Of course, today’s your special day. You are the most elegant and beautiful. Probably the only time I’ll ever see you this beautiful again…” I whispered the last part.

She pushed me lightly on the shoulder, “Why? Are you saying that I’m going to be a fat old lady after I get married? huh?” I tried to dodge her.

“So you do know what will happen if you get married and don’t take care of yourself…” Seeing steams coming out of her ears, I could only stop messing with her. “Yah, I’m just kidding, don’t get mad.” but she didn’t answer and went to fix her bouquet.

Now she’s really mad, not even looking at me at all. I stood behind her as the huge length mirror reflected our images. I held her shoulders and turned her around to face me. Tears were streaming down her face as she held onto the lily bouquet. I held her face with both of my hands.

“Why are you crying? Yah, wrestler, I’m talking to you.” She looked up at me with tears in her eyes, making drips of her mascara come off.

She fixed my bow tie and wiped away her tears that left streaks of the black mascara. “How can I not cry? Today is my wedding…” I wiped away the streaks but her under eyes started smearing with the mascara as she started sobbing. I pulled her into a hug as she bawled her eyes out. Even when she’s crying and looks like a panda, she is still so beautiful.

“You won’t be pretty if you don’t stop crying.” I shushed her but it made her cry louder. “Seriously though. Honey, if you don’t stop crying, I can assure you that I won’t walk down the aisle with you.” She let go of me and hit my shoulder, harder this time. “Yah, you should look at yourself in the mirror. I’m being serious here.” I held my shoulder as she turned to the mirror.

“AH! Why didn’t you tell me earlier oppa? What am I going to do now?!” She grabbed the tissue box and started cleaning up the mess under her eyes. There she sat like a little kid crying for candy.

After she finished re-applying the makeup, and turn back around, I can still see the pink veins in her eyes.

“See, you look much better now.” I assure her as she smiled cheekily.

‘Please get the bride ready! The ceremony is starting soon.’ We looked at each other and smiled happily, the excitement in both of our hearts glide.

The violins started playing, a cue to her entering the wedding hall. It was a small wedding of all our friends and family. I double checked my tie and fixed my clothes as the doors open. I turn to see her, walking elegantly with her head down as the veil covers her face like an angel. An angel that’s too beautiful to be seen by the world, only to me. As she got closer, the excitement and nervousness grew in my heart. I started trembling and taking deep breaths. Behind the veil, anxiety and excitement were mixed as she bit her lips.

When she stopped in front of me and I held out my hand, she happily took it as we walk down the aisle. I felt her leaning her head against my shoulder. I smiled happily. Today is the best day of my life, I thought.

When we reached the front, she turned to me and chuckled with her twinkling eyes and brilliant smile. I could tell she was as excited as I was.

Suddenly, she hugged me, making the crowd cheer.

“I’ll miss you,” she whispered sadly. That’s when reality hit me.

Today is her wedding, not mine, not ours.

“I’ll miss you too,” I whispered back.

I held her hand and passed it along to her future husband, Yoon Kye Sang, as I reluctantly let go. He gave me a quick hug too.

“Thank you Hyung,” he said. They cheerfully looked into each other’s eyes shyly continue to walk to the altar as the violins played louder. There I was, standing on the aisle alone now. I shyly walked back to the end of the aisle to leave the wedding hall.

“Do you the bride, Honey Lee, take the groom, Yoon Kye Sang, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health?”

“I do.” I heard her declare as I walked further back.

“Do you the groom, Yoon Kye Sang, take the bride, Honey Lee, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health?”

I do, said I said in my heart.

“I do,” he answered.

“I announce you as husband and wife.” the priest proclaim as everyone cheered. I stepped out of the wedding hall as they chanted a kiss.

Goodbye, my love…

This is story is based on Jong Kook's past, a character from my story 'Timeless Love'. Those who are interested, please continue reading.

PS: I don't not hate any of these characters. I love them all equally... well a bit more for Kim Jong Kook. Sparta!
