mingyu hates how his eyes continuously wander to the girl with the colourful highlights in her hair. every time there's a nonexistent cue for everyone in the recording studio to laugh, he takes that as an opportunity to turn his head to her direction completely. what's even worse is that her smile is nothing but ethereal, it lights up her lovely features and leaves him in complete awe. he's just hoping the cameras don't catch him in the act.
 
the idols and mcs in the studio start rumbling with laughter again. mingyu silently screams a hurrah and tilts his head so his gaze is towards her direction once more, all the while making sure he's chuckling for the camera(though he has no idea what in the gods seungcheol did to make everyone roar). when his eyes land on her, he stiffens for a brief moment.
 
she's staring at him as well, but not exactly in a what the hell are you kind of way. her coffee hued irises reflect curiosity and what he supposes is playfulness. when he's blinking with stupor, the girl's lips curve upwards into a grin. it's the same heart-stopping smile he’s been indulging himself in since two hours ago; however, this time, it's different - the smile is for him.
 
he manages to return a dumbstruck grin, right before the laughter dies down. as she turns away, the boy catches another small grin on her face - and bam. there aren't any mirrors nearby, but he doesn't need them to know that his face is flushing like mad. turning his head around as well, he also notices the rest of s sporting suspiciously annoying grins on their faces too. mingyu inwardly groans, as it's now confirmed that he'll never hear the end of it.
 
 
(during studio break, wonwoo advises him to make casual talk with her, while hoshi offers to be his wingman. even chan pipes up, claiming that he and chaeyoung - one of her members - are very good friends. mingyu just punches them in the arm, but secretly, he's contemplating on asking her for her number.)


 


a/n: what have i done lol this is my first mingyu x dahyun writing ever actually 
ugh the two of them are so fluffy and a dor able like the hell they should be illegal istg and i think if mingyu ever liked dahyun this would be a realistic reaction coming from him (he ain't smooth at all don't u think so too)

the setting is supposed to be at the recording of 'the boss is watching'! there was no legit interaction between these two but one can dream si gHs
but omg dude all those different crackship moments in that show red velvet didn't come out in it though what the why
