A summary of what I planned the story to be

The Game We Play

A/N: So... I won't finish this story.. Ever. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to finish it but I had so much anxiety while writing it. This fic was honestly the start of me not wanting to write fanfics anymore. It seemed so simple in my head but whenever I started typing out the scenarios I envisioned, it got longer and longer and got out of hand. The fic is almost pure angst,  and I still had a lot of future angst planned, that I just couldn't deal with it at that time anymore. I thought taking a break from it would help, but 2 years later and I still don't want to finish it. It also doesn't help that the laptop where I had my drafts for this fic died on me, so I won't have access to it anymore. Also, I was in a very bad place when I started writing this. It translated to me being able to write angst. But now I'm in a better place, so it's harder for me to feel what the Seungri and Jiyong in this fic were feeling. But for some sort of closure, here's what I thought would happen in this story. This is the summary of the story.  I'm really sorry for not writing it prose-like and sounding very casual. I just don't have the will to write it anymore. But I hate it when good fics are unfinished, and I'm always left dealing with the question of what happened next? So if ever anyone liked this story enough to want to know it's ending, here's how I planned it out:

I left it at Ji wanting to go to YG to tell him about his supposed relationship with Soojoo. What happens after is that he goes to YG's office, admits to the latter the supposed relationship, and demands that he be allowed to date publicly. YG begrudgingly agrees, so the news is published. The news later reaches Seungri. They have this epic confrontation where Ji was supposed to hurt Ri but the convo would revolve around Ji arguing that they're not together anymore, so he's free to date whoever he wanted. Ri would go to Japan for a while after that. The news about Soojoo and Jiyong actually is surprisingly well-received by the Korean populace. It's to the point that Soojoo and Ji are the "it" couple of Korea. So they gain a more massive following because of their relationship, and YG demands that they maintain this interest by appearing to be the perfect couple (going on public dates together, posting on social media about each other, etc.).

Ri later comes back to Korea because of a Bigbang comeback. Their title song,  which Ji wrote, is called Hopeless. It's about being in love with someone but only ending up being hurt all over again. When Ri hears the lyrics, he gets shocked. He tries to compose himself immediately after, but Ji notices. During the recording, Ri keeps messing up. Jiyong sends him home and tells him to come back tonight when he's hopefully in a better mood to sing. Ri does comes back later in the night. It's just Ji, the audio director, and Ri in the building. The sound director/audio director leaves because his wife fell.  Ri & Ji are left alone. It's awkward. Jiyong keeps making Seungri sing a verse again and again, but Ri is still bad at it. Jiyong will keep telling him that his voice is too flat and he must feel the song. Seungri, upon hearing this, sings it the way Jiyong wants him to, but cries right after. He breaks down, pissed at Jiyong because the words of the song hits so close to home for him. Seungri storms out of  the recording booth, Jiyong doing nothing to stop him.

As he's driving out of the YG parking lot, Seungri will think about the song. he's pissed because the lyrics reflects about how he feels about Jiyong. He's been hurt over and over again,  but he still loves him. So it irks him because from his POV, it's as if Jiyong is capitalizing on his agony. When he reaches home, he was supposed to go to sleep when somebody keeps ringing his doorbell. It's Jiyong. He doesn't want to let the latter enter but Ji still has the keys to their former place. He enters. Ri confronts him, and asks the latter if he's making fun of him. Jiyong says that the lyrics are from his POV and not Seungri's. Seungri does not believe him. As Ri was about to turn away and leave Jiyong, the latter backhugs him. Tears fall from Jiyong's eyes. He says that he understands if Ri doesn't believe him, but states that he misses Ri so much, and how his mere presence is painful to Ji. Seungri turned back and was going to argue that he was more hurt in this breakup, but Ji kisses him. They make love that night. In the morning, Ri wakes up alone. He goes into this narration of how much of a jerk Ji is, but when he reaches the kitchen, he finds that Ji is cooking for him. They sat down and eat together, where they discuss what happened the night before, but both of them will act as if it was just a thing that they did because they missed each other ually. Ri asks Ji for his keys so that the latter can't just enter whenever he wants to. To prevent awkwardness, Ri jokes that Ji has to bring him food for him to enter Ri's house (hence tying back to Ji bringing food whenever he wants to make love to Ri stated in the earlier chapters). The chapter will end with Ri thinking that maybe it was a one-night thing, but will end with something like a future-Ri voice saying "little did I know but that's how the game we played started".

There will be a narration by Ri kind of similar to the first chapter about how Jiyong would go to him once every few months, and they'd made love, and how he can never really move on because of this, how painful it is to see Ji with Soojoo, but that he just endures it, because at this point what else can he do. YG calls Seungri and demands that he make a solo album within 2 weeks. Ri thinks this is perfect because he'll use his music as an outlet to express how he's feeling. But it's too soon of a deadline, and he's burns himself out. One night he falls asleep in the recording studio. When he wakes up, he has a pillow on his head, a blanket surrounding him and a coffee container beside him. There's a note by Jiyong saying something like "I hope this will help you the way it helped me when you did it for me". This will transition into the story of how they got together.

POV will shift to a little before Haru Haru era. Jiyong's POV.  They're popular now so people are clamoring for more songs from them. But Jiyong's running on empty, and even the songs Teddy's making aren't up to YG's arbirtrary standard. Jiyong's pressured so he makes many songs, none of them good enough to record, but at least he's productive in YG's eyes. He basically camps out at the recording studio. One night, he abruptly wakes up because he felt movement above him. He looks to see a startled Seungri who was putting a pillow on his head. When he asks what Seungri was doing, Seungri explains that he saw how tired Jiyong was and how he always took care of them, and Seungri just wanted to take care of him too. That's the first time that Jiyong sees Seungri as more than a dongsaeng and as someone he can rely on. Jiyong slowly falls more and more in love with  Seungri. I was gonna put in one chapter lil stories of them being cute and fluffy together, ;ike them watching movies together and Jiyong being distracted by Seungri's presence, going shopping together for  Jiyong's dad's birthday gift, them starting to sleep together platonically, etc. Basically Jiyong is finding any and all reasons to be in Seungri's presence. It all builds up to this one day where Jiyong says he hasn't really appreciated the sunrise since they started becoming idols, because he's always just in the recording studio. So Ri kidnaps Ji and drives them to a nearby beach, where they see the first sunrise of the new year together. Jiyong thanks Seungri and Seungri downplays what he did. He'll say something to the effect that he'll do anything just to have Jiyong smile (but less dramatic). Jiyong feels so touched because nobody else has ever prioritized his happiness before. He looks at Ri, and realizes that he likes him not like a brother. He taps Ri. The latter looks at him, and when he does, Jiyong kisses him. They do not stop kissing until they hear a sharp whistle. They see a policeman coming towards them, and fearing recognition, they run back to their car and drove off. They're feeling excited and estatic, and just a tiny bit awkward, but they're both smiley. Jiyong jokes about how whistles are annoying because it interrupted them. Seungri just laughs but says that whistles are actually symbolic and that there's this belief that if someone gives you a  whistle, it means that they're giving you their heart. Sorta like "Just whistle, and I'll always be by your side" kinda thing. (This ties in to the necklace Jiyong gifted Ri on his birthday. The mystery pendant was a whistle).

A few months into the relationship, trouble starts. Xin, Ji's childhood best friend comes back to Korea, looking for a job. Ji recommends him to YG and he's in charge of styling the girl group that will debut (which would be 2ne1). Xin is overly touchy with Ji because of their long friendship and because he's studied in the West which is more liberal. Ri is very insecure about his relationship with Ji, so he's kinda threatened by Xin. Ji assures him that nothing's going on and that they're just friends. He encourages Ri to make his own friends so that he won't feel bad about Ji hanging out with Ri. Ri takes it to heart and starts looking for people of the same age-group as him. He sees that FT Island are making a comeback and discovers that their leader is the same age as him. During the next music show, when both FT Island and Bigbang were promoting, Ri befriends Jonghoon. They fast become friends because they're each other's first real friend outside their own respective groups. Jonghoon is sorta clingy and a sweet guy. They always go out together. They slowly expand their circle, but they're each other's best friends. When Seungri forgets that they were supposed to go out one night because he was out clubbing with Jonghoon, Ji slowly becomes paranoid about Jonghoon's intentions. Seungri assures him that Jonghoon just sees him as a friend. Ri, wanting to appease Ji, brought him with his friends to their next friend group outing. But Ji was bored because Seungri's friends just talked business, and nobody there could really relate to Ji's interest in fashion. Ri's friends were also very obnoxious, and Ji felt really uncomfortable with them. When they both got home, they both agreed that it was a bad idea to really try integrating each other in the other's friend circle, so they promised to just trust each other.

At this point, the Vogue photoshoot happen, and Ji meets Soojoo. They also become fast friends. Ri is supportive of the friendship at first, often quipping to Ji that Soojoo is like the female GD. Since Soojoo is always out of the country, Ji & her usually would just Facetime/Skype/Videocall. Ji tries introducing Soojoo to Ri, but Ri makes excuses because in reality, he feels intimidated because Soojoo is sarcastic when talking to Jiyong (but that's just her natural state. I tried to show that side of her in the earler chapters but I'm not sure if it came through). Like she's well-intentioned but sassy. While in my head, this Seungri in this story is more... straight-forward. So their wiring just doesn't mesh.

One night Xin was dumped by his long-distance bf. Having no other friends in Korea, Ji was Xin's only friend, so he went to the latter's home to comfort him. They drink a lot. At some point, Xin kissed him, and Ji, drunk out of his mind, thought that Xin was Ri. As they were moving to the bed, when Xin was undressing Ji, Seungri calls Xin's phone because he can't reach Ji. Distracted by the noise, Xin accidentally swipes left (accepting the call) instead of swiping right (to reject the call). Ri hears Xin and Ji doing the do. Ji wakes up the ff. day, realizes what happened. He & Xin fight, and Xin apologizes and assures Ji that he just thought that Ji was his ex too. (I know. Not really well thought out but that's the best I could do without making Xin into a bad guy too. >.<). Regardless of their motivations when they did the do, Ji is still pissed at Xin and breaks off their friendship.

When Ji goes him, Seungri confronts him, spitting all sort of vitriol on Jiyong, Jiyong begs him not to break up with him, so they stay together, but Seungri still couldn't easily forgive him. It's like his rose-tinted view of Jiyong was shattered, and his very idealistic view of romance crushed. So they continued fighting, small petty fights at first. It didn't help that Xin kept trying to contact Ji to apologize. It would slowly escalate, to the point that even when they're with the Bigbang members, they would fight. (I wanted to put in a scene where they're fighting, the BB members ask why, and they'll tell them what happened, and YB punches Ji). Ji & Ri were basically bringing up the worst of each other at this point. Ri's POV was that he was still hurt by Ji's cheating, while Ji feels like, although he's really sorry and regretful that what happened happened, he thinks Seungri should take into consideration that he didn't really wanna cheat on him, and thought that Xin was him in his drunken state.

The breaking point (well to the other Bigbang members who in a way forced them to break up), was when Ji "catches"  Seungri cheating on him with Jonghoon. It would only appear that way. Ri and him actually weren't cheating. In reality, what actually happened was that Jonghoon and Ri were out drinking so that Ri could rant about Jiyong to him (he can't really do that to his Bigbang hyungs because they're directly impacted by his relationship with Jiyong). Jonghoon gets drunk because he just keeps drinking while listening. He gets so drunk he passes out. Ri's concerned for his friend because Jonghoon lives alone so instead of driving Jonghoon home, he takes the latter to his & Ji's home. Jonghoon pukes on his shirt and pants including his boxer shorts and on Ri's clothing too before they enter the building. Ri brings him to his room (because it's the only room in the house), undresses himself and Jonghoon so that the puke won't transfer to his sheets. Before he was able to  retrieve PJs for him and Jonghoon, Jonghoon becomes conscious at this point, but still very drunk. Jonghoon walks around the room , and is basically like a rampaging bull. Exasperated, (and not caring about his own as this point), Ri pushes jonghoon to the bed to stop the latter from thrashing the bedroom, but Jonghoon holds onto him, making them both stumble unto the bed. This is the scenario Jiyong walks into, and he misunderstands, thinking Ri and Jonghoon had . They fight whilst Jonghoon sleeps in the background, Ri not clarifying the situation because he's pissed at the fact that Jiyong is hypocritical enough when he cheated first. Jiyong leaves, goes to Youngbae, and tells him what happened. (This was supposed to be a YB POV. T-T). YB tells Tabi and Dae and the 3 decide that the best course of action would be to break up Jiyong and Seungri. The ff. day they held something like a meeting. When Ri arrives, YB punches him for cheating on his bestfriend. At this point, the  BB members beg Ji & Ri to break up, because they fear that this will cause the end of Bigbang, so they did. However, because they were just broken up by their members, it was hard for them to move on. Ji also hadn't totally moved out yet (when they broke up, he bought his own apartment), but his schedules was too tight (and to be honest he was also delaying his moving out), On the night of their supposed anniversary, they made love. Whenever any one of them missed each other, they would text each other and Ji would go to Ri's place (this was important because I've established that what pushed Ji to do the fake relationship bid with Soojoo was because they were doing the do still once in a while).

The next chapter goes back to the present (present as in where Ji gave Ri the pillow, blanket, and coffee). Because of Ji's act, they started to get closer to each other again. During this time, like a callback from their past, they do the things they did before they got together (basically I planned to reiterate and modify a lil bit the earlier fluff chapter I planned. LIke they'd watch movies together again, go to a wedding together, be shouted at by fans for being cute as NyongTory, etc.). They basically start falling for each other again. However, this bubble pops up when Soojoo transfers to YGKPlus (YG modelling agency). YG mediaplays the Ji and Soojoo relationship again.  There should have been a monologue of Ri basically being pissed about this circumstance. Soojoo is also sassy with him (but again she's not ill-intentioned, just sarcastic), so they clash a lot.

Then one day, Soojoo drops by the Bigbang recording studio looking for Ji (in reality, she was going to tell him about a guy she met who didn't know who she was or who Ji was and was going on a date with him), but instead finds Seungri. They banter again. At one point Seungri basically says that if you're here to rub your relationship with Ji, it won't work because he's over him already. Soojoo laughs at him and says that both boys are stupid. Both pretending to not have feelings anymore, one faking having no feelings anymore, and the other one faking a relationship. Soojoo leaves a stunned Seungri. (This was going to be a Soojoo POV ).

The next chapter is Ji's POV. Someone rings the doorbell. He sees it's Seungri. Once Seungri's inside, he confronts Ji about him faking a relationship with Soojoo. Ji tries to play it off, but Seungri stops him mid-sentence. Ri hugs Ji and tells him that they've lied too many times and played too many games with each other, that it's time for them to finally tell the truth. When Ri pulls back, Ji notices that Ri put on him the necklace he gave Ri during the latter's birthday. Ri says something to the effect that you gave your heart to me before, and now I'm giving this whistle pendant back to you to give you my heart. Basically Ri has a speech about how he he's sorry that in the midst of his anger with Ji, he didn't realize the meaning of that necklace, and that even if he did, he really wasn't in the right mindset to accept Ji's explanations. But that this time around, he's willing to lay down his cards, as long as Ji does the same. So Ji tells him the truth. That he still loves him, that the thing with Xin was really just a drunken mistake, that the fake relationship with Soojoo was just to try to let go of Ri so that they won't hurt each other again, that the reason for the games was just simply because Ji never really got over Ri and constantly missed him, etc. Seungri dries Ji's tears that falls as he's confessing. As Ji stares at him, Seungri confesses the truth about what happened with Jonghoon. They then promise to abide by the promise of the whistle necklace, and stay by each other's side come what may.

A year later, Seungri is at a car outside the airport. Ji is with him. Ri is clarifying to him if he's sure that he'll allow Ri to go with Jonghoon. Ji says that he's confident in their relationship and that he trusts Seungri. Ri smiles, revelling in Ji's trust. They kiss each other. Ri steps out of the car. Before he enters the building, Ri looks back at Ji, brings his necklace to his lips, and blows on it. In turn, Ji blows on his.

A/N: I don't know if anyone's still gonna read this but at least I gave this fic closure already. I'm sorry if it wasn't in a fic-like form. But as you can see, there was still too much material to finish writing and I just don't really have the motivation, time & energy to write a fic of this scale anymore. So to those who have read this before and left wonderful comments, I hope that with this, you'll get the closure you deserve. <3

Thank you!

I marked this as completed not because it is, but because I laid out on the last chapter what my plan was. I hope it would give closure to those who read this fic (or at the very least, inform them what direction this fic was going to take). :(
