The Bet“Just tell me what’s been bothering you, princess.”
“Look, James, it’s nothing.” He said. “Just ignore me”
“Princess, I can see right through you. I’m your best friend.”
He sighed, shaking his head. “It’s really nothing, James.”
The guy chuckled. “I think I know what’s been bothering you.”
“What?”
The guy pointed at a certain direction from the screen. He looked back and saw Jackson Wang, again. Was the guy eavesdropping on him? It was bad enough that the guy would be living here. Was privacy something hard to ask for?
“Yes?”
“Nothing, just checking if the doors are locked.” Jackson said, not really checking the locks of the door. “They’re lock. Just wanted to make sure you’re safe, love.”
He groaned, rolling his eyes afterwards. He could hear James laughing, which pissed him even more.
“Just get some sleep, princess.”
“Maybe I should, James.”
“Good night, princess.”
“Good night, my royal pirate.”
He wasn’t sure why, but it seemed that Jackson was jealous. Why would the guy even be jealous in the first place? How long was the person going to go with this “I want you” act?
Jackson was kind of cute when jealous, and he swore that he would never think of something like this ever again.

Jackson and his friends went to the café where Mark works at. Half of the reason was because they were hungry, but the most of it was because of the blonde. He was getting tired from all the rejection he had been getting from the nerd, and it was starting to hurt his pride.
How could someone like him be rejected by a nerd? It was either Mark Tuan was an alien or had a different type.
Or maybe, the guy was in a relationship? The blonde seemed pretty cozy with that guy from skype last night. Did they have a long distance relationship? Was that the reason why Mark kept rejecting him?
Why did he even care? This was only a bet. He should focus on the task at hand.
His friends took his wallet again, but he didn’t really care though. His eyes automatically looked for the blonde, and soon, he found the boy. Mark was cleaning tables, while talking to someone on the phone.
Well, aren’t we a multi-tasker?
“I love you, Joey. I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Joey?
“I need to go, Joey. I can’t wait to see you again.”
That was probably the name of the blonde’s boyfriend. No wonder he had no chance, Mark was in a relationship. He had to win this bet, no matter what. The guy wasn’t here, and he was. He could get the boy fall in love with him, and he would do everything for it to happen.

“Henry, you promised me you would help with the house chores today.”
“Mom, I can’t! I promised Jackson we’d go play some hoops today.”
Well, they were supposed to play some basketball, but of course it wouldn’t hurt to actually help out. He chuckled as his friend continued with those cute acts, which didn’t really do anything.
Plus, this was his chance to show his helpful side. The arguing mother and son continued but ended up outside of the room. Now, it was only Mark and him. This was his chance. He stood behind the boy, who was trying to reach for the curtains that were needed to be changed.
“Need any help, cutie?”
“Nope” The boy said. “Don’t even come near me.”
“Okay, okay”
He chuckled, sitting back on the bed. He actually liked a person like this, someone who was independent. Mark was a challenge he was willing to pursue.
His eyes fell on the floor, noticing a pair of old shoes. He took one of them, and saw that the bottom of the shoe was already half open. It kind of looked like a crocodile.
“Never knew someone still had these pair of old vans. These are prehistoric.”
“Don’t even touch that”
He smirked, raising the shoe in the air. “Take it easy, beautiful.”
“Just give them back”
The blonde pushed him on the bed, quickly getting the pair. “You like things hard huh?”
Mark didn’t respond. Instead, the boy took out a small tube of superglue, applying some on the torn area.
“Why don’t you just buy a new pair?”
“I don’t want a new pair.” The boy spat. “Just don’t go through my stuff ever again.”
And at that moment, he knew what he could do to get Mark Tuan’s heart.
