The story is taking place in Shilla, which was one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea and also one of the world's longest sustained dynasties.                                       The palace had a strong hold on its people and the people revered the royal family.                                                                                                                       Beautiful girls would often enter the palace in hopes of gaining the attention of the royals.                                                                                                               Rebellion and political strife were all quite common.

I am a huge fan of all things historical whether it be korean, chinese or any other language. This story is an inspiration from the metric tons of time I have wasted (notreally) watching period dramas.
