"Ramen... chocolate... potato chips..." Wonwoo murmured as he went through his monthly stockpile. He wouldn't be able to leave his apartment for a full week, 5 days if he was lucky, so he needed to make sure any hunger pang or craving would be satisfied during that time. Especially his cravings. Because he was going into heat, and he didn't have a partner to satisfy the other kind of appetite.

It had almost 2 years since his first heat, and still not having a partner made Wonwoo a bit of... an oddball. The pheromones he would exude didn't seem to appeal to many alphas, if it appealed to any at all. In vampire terms, it meant that his "blood" was either not sweet, or wasn't even picked up by the vampires around him.

At first, Wonwoo thought it might be a maturity thing, like the pheromones would get stronger as he grew older. But then Soonyoung had found a partner within 2 months of going into his first heat, so that idea was crossed out.

He also contemplated the idea of single mates, where his scent would only appeal to one alpha in the world. But then Jun had over a dozen alphas coming up to him when his heat was approaching, even though he already had a partner.

So now Wonwoo was increasingly resigned to not finding a partner. Why get his hopes up each month, only to get disappointed? He told himself it'd be a better surprise if his alpha partner appeared when he least expected it, so he should just let the universe work its ways.
