As a kid, Mark used to dream big just like any other kids. As a teen, that big dream slowly changes into something smaller, something much more realistic in a way and along his journey to reach adulthood, that big dream was completely replaced with something else. A dream that he never dreamed of achieving that is simply to say a plain dream in Mark’s perspective.

But then again, Mark couldn’t care less because at least he’s not homeless, penniless and most importantly not hungry. He earned enough money to pay his apartment rent, to send money once in a while to his parents and basically to just continue living his ordinary life.

Yes, that’s right in reality Mark is just an ordinary businessman but that doesn’t mean he’s not allowed to dream something big realistically during his nap time (well, he likes to daydream sometimes but what you experience in daydreaming and dreaming as you sleep is completely different…if you know what I mean).

This is why his favorite time of the day is at night and it’s not because he can go to clubs and bars and other sorts of entertainment, it’s because he can go back home to his old apartment, to take a bath and eat his meal and then he can finally dream something big or small but at least something different from his ordinary life peacefully on his bed.

His closest friends (courtesy of Park Jinyoung aka Junior and Kim Yugyeom) call him childish, lame and all other things but Mark would ignore those remarks because this is how he enjoys life and let’s be completely honest no matter how old we are, we still likely to daydream and think about the “what-if” scenarios in our head and all what you called “childish things”.

Anyway, Mark likes to think that he is at least allowed to dream and remember that experience as he wakes up but every morning as if to deny giving him that very joy, his alarm would ring loudly disturbing him of his sleep and thus making him unable to completely remember what he’s dreaming about.

RRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG

Mark groaned as he ignores the ringing of his alarm clock and tries to focus on the comfortable warmth that he’s feeling on his left side.

RRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG

Mark groaned once again but this time he’s willing to uncover himself from his the comfort of his blanket and tries to knock his alarm out.

RRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGgg—

Mark hoisted himself up in a sitting position and begins to rub his eyes slowly and sleepily and he’s going to sleep again until he heard muffled noises which doesn’t actually wake his senses up until a soft and steady little snores finally wake him up completely. There, right next to him, on his bed, is a little boy which Mark assumes is no older that 5 years old.

Mark thinks that he’s a very rational person and he is (even though there are times when he didn’t act rationally) and so, the only logic that comes into his mind at that moment is that he’s still very sleepy and that he’s not completely awake and he’s actually feeling very lonely these days and so he thinks that logically his mind(due to tiredness) create an imaginary little boy sleeping next to him which actually doesn’t make any sense but whatever.

Mark slowly gets out of bed and walks himself to the bathroom to wash his face and as if to make sure that "the little boy" is just imaginary, he walks out of the bathroom quickly after washing his face and the result is……the imaginary little boy is actually still sleeping peacefully on his bed and the best solution that Mark could comes up with is to actually go back to the bathroom and wash his face again and again making his hair dripping wet and slowly emerges out of the bathroom looking to the direction of his bed and...he is actually very relieved and pleased when he finds no one in his bed.

“...I’m hungry…”

“UUUWAAAAHH” Mark outright screamed at the little boy who’s standing next to him and back away himself to the bathroom once again.

“What’s wrong hyung??”The little boy asked with a concerned look on his face.

“Wha-hyu-ho-“ Mark utters shakily as he slowly sinks to the floor with his eyes wide.

“Seriously hyung…What’s wrong with you? You look like someone who just saw a ghost..”the little boy mumbles out as he steps into the bathroom.

In all his defense, Mark shouted loudly a quick A-AREN’T YOU ONE?! and STAY BACK!!

The boy looks offended for a minute and then started to tear up and Mark couldn’t help but to reflexively hug the boy and not caring the slightest bit whether he’s a ghost or not because Mark is really weak to tears especially one coming from kids(courtesy of his niece).The boy doesn’t stop and actually bursts into tears and Mark once again couldn’t help but soften up real good.

“Hey…alright…alright...look here...I’m sorry kiddo...I’m just really shocked, okay? I didn’t mean to shout like that, okay? I’m sorry …please stop crying…”Mark consoles the boy as he pats his hair softly and he notices that the boy’s hair is actually really fluffy and soft and Mark could pat it forever.

The is actually working as the boy eventually calms down a little and Mark take this as an opportunity to let go of the boy and wipes his tears.

“I…I’m not a g-ghost…hy-hyung…g-g-ghosts are scary”The boy shudders and sniffles while mumbling out said words cautiously as if he’s afraid that Mark would scream at him again.

“Yes...I can see that you’re not...I’m sorry for accusing that you’re a ghost...”Mark says quietly and smiles softly at the boy.

“R-really??”The boy asks with uncertainty.

Mark nods and that’s all it takes for the little boy to beam and smiles widely. Mark is actually really surprised by the smile and feels an urge to hug the boy because the kid is actually really cute and adorable until he remembers what causes him to shout a few minutes ago.

“W-Wait a minute…I know now for sure that you’re not a ghost but how come you’re here in my apartment??How did you even enter?? This is the 11^th floor for god’s sake!” Mark cried out not as loud as before as he doesn’t want to frighten the boy twice.

The boy tilts his head in confusion and is about to reply until a loud grumble from his stomach cuts him off and he started out whining that he’s hungry to Mark.

Mark sighs as he thinks that the boy won’t ever answer him until he gets something to eat and so he chuckles a bit and help the kiddo to clean his face before urging him to the kitchen to make breakfast for both of them.
