Chapter 4

My Only Love

“I’ll be home later.” Hye Jin said on the phone as she took a seat on a bench at her college campus. It was a little past noon and she had one more class to go to before her day was over.

“When’s later?!” Mei Yi complained on the phone. “I’m hungry!”

“There’s ramen in the kitchen, help yourself!” Hey Jin laughed before she frowned. “But stay away from my cookies…”

“You have cookies?! Where?!”

“No! Don’t look for them, they’re my cookies!” Hye Jin nearly shouted on the phone when she noticed someone standing in front of her at the bench. He was looking down at her with a small laugh. “Uh! Gotta go!” She said quickly and hung up the phone before standing up to greet him.

“Someone trying to steal your cookies?” Gongchan asked with an amused grin.

“Ah… my roommate.” She blushed out of embarrassment. “She was hungry and…”

“I see. She can’t cook?”

“Not yet… she’s like, 5.” Hye Jin laughed at his shocked expression. “I’m kidding, she’s 19.”

“That’s still young… and how old are you?” He asked curiously.

“Uh, 21.” She lowered her head. “I’m old.”

“Nonsense, if anyone is old, it’s me. I’m 23.” He chuckled. It got her smiling and he was glad. “Can I sit with you?”

“... sure!” She blurted out and turned to move her bag to make space. He took a seat next to her and they sat there in a short silence before she decided to ask him something. “I didn’t know we attended the same college?”

“Me either, until I saw you talking on the phone just now. I suppose it was just my lucky day.” He flashed a charming smile her way. “That or… we just had bad timing up until now.”

“Probably.” She nodded and looked down to her hands folded in her lap. She was starting to get nervous because it was obvious he had his eye on her… and she couldn’t help but think of Jisoo when she looked at his face. How can he look so much like Jisoo? Are they related? “Uh…”

“Yes?” He smiled when she tried to speak again.

“If you don’t mind me asking, but… what’s your full name?”

“My full name? Why, are you interested in me?” He winked at her and she looked away quickly.

“Ah, no, it’s not like that! I was just curious… you look a lot like someone I know and a thought just came to mind… what if you two were related or something?” She stuttered out and her face burned up.

“Is that someone that ex boyfriend of yours?” He flat out said with a hint of disappointment in his tone.

“Uh…” she was surprised to hear that so suddenly.

“Sorry, I overheard your last conversation you had with that guy last week before you left. That was rude of me to eavesdrop, I’m sorry.” He apologized while looking down at his shoes.

“It’s fine… I suppose we shouldn’t have talked about us there in a crowded place. That was my fault.” She admitted and looked away when she felt embarrassed. He probably saw her kiss Jisoo, too. Silence fell upon the two and it started to get a bit awkward. Hye Jin didn’t know what to do and started to feel bad.

“Chan Shik.” He suddenly said. “My name is Gong Chan Shik, but you can call me Gongchan. It’s the stage name I use when I perform.”

“Perform?” She looked over at him a bit surprised.

“Yeah.” He nodded with a sweet smile. “A few of my friends and I like to get together and sing whenever there’s an open stage at the local cafes. Sometimes we play instruments, too.”

“Really? That’s neat.” She was becoming interested in who he was now after hearing he was a performer.

“You should come to one of our performances next time.” He said with a sweet smile.

“Sounds like fun, okay.” She smiled and nodded her head.

“And so, what’s the best way to contact you?” A grin spread across his face when he pulled out his phone. “Shall we exchange numbers?”

“Oh… I suppose we should.” She said softly and reached for her own phone.

“Yo! Gongchan! There you are!” Suddenly someone called out to him on the bench. “I’ve been looking for you everywhere! Is this what you’ve been doing all this time?” The blonde said bluntly and pointed at Hye Jin. “Hitting on girls?”

“Yah…” Gongchan frowned before turning to Hye Jin. “Sorry, just ignore her.”

“H-Her?” Hye Jin was confused while she stared at his friend. She had thought the person was a guy judging by the short hair and… boyish outfit, but now that she recalled the voice…

“Names Amber, nice to meet you.” She greeted with a small wave. “Are you the girl he’s been gushing about lately?”

“Uhhh…” Hye Jin chuckled quietly when Gongchan shot Amber a glare. Just then Hye Jin’s phone buzzed and she silenced the alarm that played. “Oh, I should start heading to my next class.”

“Really? Sorry if we were keeping you!” He frowned as they both got up from the bench. “Since we attend the same campus, why don’t we just meet up another time?”

“That sounds like a plan.” Hye Jin smiled. “How about Wednesday? We can have lunch before my class?”

“Perfect, Wednesday, then!” He beamed while looking thrilled. “See you then~!”

“See you, and it was nice meeting you… Amber.” She waved to the girl standing beside Gongchan with a grin on her face.

“Same! Have a nice day.” Hye Jin disappeared off into the building after that. “Awh, she’s cute.” Amber nudged Gongchan. “Too bad you didn’t get her number.”

“Yeah, and who do I have to thank for that?” He rolled his eyes before leaving without her.

“Wait for me!” She laughed and ran after him.

~❤~

“Okay, that’s it for today. You all did great.” Jisoo smiled at his students after he wrapped up vocal practice. “Feel free to stay and practice a bit more, if you’re leaving early, remember to do practice a bit more before bed. We’ll be listening to everyone’s songs they chose to sing on Friday. Good luck!”

The students thanked their teacher along with the other teachers present who were Seokmin and Jeonghan. Jihoon was busy in the office today and Seungkwan was out today running errands in his personal life. Half the class went home and half the class stayed to practice more, and a few asked Seokmin for some advice.

“What a day.” Jeonghan sighed and sat against the wall with Jisoo who was tuning his guitar. “Look at that, they always ask Seokmin for help.” He muttered with a hint of jealousy.

“Because the girls have a crush on us.” Jisoo chuckled. “They get nervous around us… Seokmin is such a nice friendly character, perhaps they’re more comfortable around him.”

“But still… I want to help.” Jeonghan whined and leaned on his friend’s shoulder.

“Go approach them, then!”

“I don’t wanna seem desperate.”

“Jeonghan… you’re a teacher, it’s your job.” Jisoo nudged him off his shoulder. Jeonghan just pouted and hugged his knees to his chest like a child. “Sunmi!” Jisoo called across the room. The girl turned around and looked their way, she pointed to herself and he nodded before beckoning her to come over. “Are you waiting for Mr. Lee?” He asked.

“Uh… y-yes.” She nodded.

“We’ll, Mr. Yoon is free. Why don’t you let him help you?”

“O-Okay.” She blushed and lowered her head in a shy manner, it was really adorable.

“Go.” Jisoo nudged Jeonghan who had a bright smile on his face now.

“Thanks!” He whispered before he got up. “C’mon, Sunmi-ah, let’s go enhance your angelic voice!” He led her away into a different corner.

Jisoo smiled while he watched his friends teaching the students. Sure, he should go and approach the other two who were waiting for Seokmin’s time, but he just wanted to take a break since he taught most of today’s class.

After a few moments of strumming his guitar with random notes, his phone buzzed next to him.

Hye Jin: Hey, afternoon! ^^

He broke out into a smile as he picked up his phone to type a reply back. He liked how she texted him in English instead of Korean. It made it less easier for his friends to snoop on his messages, though, Vernon and Jihoon still could figure it out.

Jisoo: Hey, what’s up? :)

Hye Jin: Just got out of class, what about you?

Jisoo: Just finished teaching for the day, though some students

stuck around for extra practice. I’m just relaxing by the

wall while the other’s help the students.

Hye Jin: Oh, sounds nice… could I come and observe?

Jisoo: Sure! I don’t see why not?

Hye Jin: Okay! I’ll be over shortly! ^^

“Who are you texting?” Seungcheol smiled and took a seat next to Jisoo by the wall. He leaned over to peek at the message and pouted since he couldn’t understand it.

“Where did you come from?! I didn’t know you were here?!” Jisoo was startled and almost dropped his phone.

“I slipped in during practice. Jihoon needed my help.” He explained before getting comfortable on the ground. “So, was that her?”

“... yeah. She said she’s stopping by.”

“Really? No wonder you look so happy.” The older said with a grin.

“I didn’t know I was that obvious.” Jisoo chuckled.

“Well then, I hope you two have fun.”

“We’re not doing anything, though. She just wanted to observe the students.”

“Sure.” Seungcheol smiled and patted him on the back.

“Sometimes I don’t get you, hyung.” Jisoo sighed and shook his head. The older only laughed in reply.

~❤~

It was a little after 4pm while Hye Jin drove in her car on the path to the Shining Diamond Studio. She had just finished texting Jisoo a moment ago before she turned her car on. It wasn’t a difficult decision to make after she got out of class, really… she knew she wanted to go and see him today and was just lucky he wasn’t busy.

She felt like she was 16 again with the way she felt so anxious and excited to see Jisoo. It was like she was crushing on him all over again, despite their last talk. Maybe we really can get back together? She thought as she finally pulled up to the studio.

After coming inside she came up to the front desk and this time it was different as someone was actually at the front today. He was leaning back in his seat with his legs propped up onto the desk while reading a novel in his seat. He had jet black hair and she could see his sharp eyes scanning the book in front of him behind round metal spectacles. “Uhm…” she barely got out and it was enough to get his attention. When he put the book down, she was shocked to see his other sharp features like his nose, jawline and lips… she had to admit, he was good looking, but maybe not as good looking as Jisoo in her own biased opinion.

“Can I help you?” He asked in his deep voice.

“I’m here to see Joshua…” she answered softly.

“Your name?” He asked while sitting up properly in his seat, it almost made her laugh, it was like he was trying to act professional now after she just saw him leaning back in his seat reading a book.

“Hye Jin…” just the mere mention of her name made his face light up quickly and he reached for the phone at the desk and pressed the intercom button.

“Will Mr. Hong please come to the front! I repeat, will Mr. Hong come to the front! It’s important, I promise!” Then he hung up the phone and looked up at Hye Jin with a wild grin. “Just a moment.”

“T-Thank you.” She chuckled at how he looked so fascinated now. A moment later, someone came from the back, of course that was Jisoo.

“Yah, Won Woo, how many times have I told you not to use the intercom?! It’s for the students, not us! Just come and get me!” He scolded before he noticed Hye Jin standing there. She waved at him and his scolding expression softened. “Nevermind.”

“See, I said it was important!” Won Woo laughed while grabbing his book. “You’re welcome.” He added before going back into the position he was in before.

“Excuse him,” Jisoo pouted before beckoning her to follow him past the counter. “He’s kind of lazy when it comes to fetching us from the back.”

“That’s okay.” She giggled while entering the practice room, she could see two other teachers in the room along with maybe five younger students. At the moment, someone came from the back office with some papers in hand.

“Oh,” he seemed surprised as he approached both Jisoo and Hye Jin. “Nice to see you again, Hye Jin.” Jihoon greeted.

“Thanks, nice to see you again, too!” She smiled brightly. He stilled for a split second before he glanced around the room to see how many were still present.

“Did you come to observe?” He managed to ask calmly.

“Yes, that’s okay, right?” She was sure that Jisoo wouldn’t tell her it was fine when it wasn’t but she thought to just double check. He seemed to be the higher up between him and Jisoo from what she’s observed already.

“Of course, stop by anytime!” He assured her with a wide smile this time. “I hate to leave so suddenly but I need to give Won Woo these papers at the front desk. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable.” He added before giving a small wave. Both Jisoo and Hye Jin gave him a wave in return before they headed to the back corner of the room to stay out of everyone’s way.

“It’s nice to see how well you all get along when working. Doesn’t really look like a workplace, more like a hangout spot.” She commented while she watched his co-works joking around across the room with the students.

“It does seem like that, doesn’t it?” He didn’t noticed until she had pointed it out. “It’s fun working here.”

“I’m glad you get to do something you love and have fun while you’re doing it.” She looked over to him with a cute smile, he couldn't help but smile back at her and it was like they shared another moment together. It was sweet until one of his co-workers interrupted by clearing his throat.

“Mr. Hong, are you busy?” Jeonghan asked as he was standing behind a young boy that was a student.

“What’s up?” He asked and tried not to sound reluctant, he was still on the clock despite Hye Jin was here.

“Jin here wants to practice a little more on the guitar.” He explained before eyeing Hye Jin and smiled.

“Right, just let me go fetch my guitar in the back.” Jisoo nodded before nudging Hye Jin. “Come with me.”

“O-Okay.” She quickly got up to follow him. They could see the small pout on Jeonghan’s face before they entered the back office where Jisoo’s guitar case was. He had put it away thinking he was done for the day.

“He was trying to get you alone.” Jisoo chuckled when he opened the guitar case. “Not like that, though, he’s just been really curious about you, they all have. Ever since I told them you were my ex girlfriend…”

“Ah, I don’t blame them.” She giggled and remembered how excited Won Woo seemed to look when she told him her name.

“In time, you’ll meet them all.”

“In time?”

“There’s a lot of them.” He nodded. “12 to be more exact.”

“Wow, 12? I’ve met Jihoon… and Won Woo, and just now that was?”

“Jeonghan. The other one is Seokmin. You talked to Seungkwan aka Diva Boo and Vernon on the phone that day I left my phone at the cafe.”

“I’ve already lost count…” she mumbled with a confused expression.

“Don’t worry! Once you meet them it won’t be that bad!” He assured her before guiding her back out of the room. From there he took the time to help his student and Hye Jin watched from the corner just so she wouldn’t make the kid uncomfortable.

~❤~

After maybe an hour of Jisoo helping out his student, the others students eventually left as so did the teachers since it was about dinner time now. The studio would still be open till 10pm but only for clients. Jihoon had returned to his office and Won Woo was still out in front reading his novel. She wondered why he wasn’t there each time she visited the studio until now?

“Do you want to go get dinner together or…?” Jisoo spoke up and snapped her out of it and she turned to face him.

“Sure!” She nodded with a smile reaching her lips. She could see how her answer made him happy, it was cute. He put his guitar away before telling Jihoon that he was leaving with Hye Jin, he’d be back later for his guitar before he closes up the place.

While they were walking out from the back, they could see Won Woo sit up in his seat and put his book down to greet them. “Leaving together?” He asked nonchalantly.

“Problem?” Jisoo raised a brow at him and it earned him laughs from both Won Woo and Hye Jin. Was he sassing him?

“No, have fun~!” He made a shooing motion at them before returning to his reading position again. Once the two left, he sighed before picking up the phone and pressed the intercom button. “Yah, Jihoonie, give me some money, I’m ordering pizza~!” He hung up the phone and waited for the younger to come out from the back. It took a few minutes and just when he thought about using the intercom again, the studio door opened and out came Jihoon with the money and something else.

“STOP USING THE INTERCOM, YOU LAZY PIECE OF !” He yelled in a megaphone pointed at Won Woo before tossing a credit card his way.

“It’s SLOTH!” Won Woo corrected. “Lazy Piece of already left for the night! Please don’t mix us up again!” He added with a small laugh. He was referring to Jeonghan.

“EUGH, YOU GIVE ME A HEADACHE!” Jihoon yelled once more before heading back to the office.

“Sheesh, what’s gotten into hi-” suddenly Jihoon held the megaphone out from behind the door and pressed the horn setting, cutting Won Woo off mid sentence, startling him to the point of shouting.

~❤~

“How was school?” Jisoo asked after they got their order of pizza at the table. They came to a pizza joint when Hye Jin mentioned she was in the mood for some pizza and it felt like old times when they’d eat pizza together. Funny how Won Woo was talking about getting pizza back at the studio, he should’ve tagged along.

“Eh, it was okay. It’s midterm week, how fun, right?” She mumbled. School wasn’t always her favorite place, but it was required if you wanted a good job, so she’s been forcing through it. She struggled at first since back in high school she had Jisoo to look forward to every day, but not anymore.

“Very.” He chuckled. “You got this, don’t worry.”

“Thanks.” She smiled, it was clear that cheered her up and it made him happy, naturally. “At least next week is Spring Break.”

“True, be sure to relax on your time off!”

“I will, for sure!”

“What are you studying?” He asked, he was curious to know what she’s been up to.

“Art. Particularly Graphic Design.” She answered before taking a sip of her soda.

“Really? Jeonghan’s girlfriend is studying the same thing… maybe I should introduce you two?”

“That’d be nice, what’s her name? I wonder if she’s in any of my classes already? I haven’t been talking to the other students since I got here.”

“Why not?” He frowned at the thought of her being alone at school.

“I don’t know, I just haven’t felt like socializing a lot lately. Too much has been on my mind and I worry that I wouldn’t be such great company.” She admitted.

“That’s okay… just take your time.” He gave her a supportive smile. He remembered back when they were dating there were some days where she’d have a rough time and he wouldn’t hear from her for awhile. It was just her way of dealing with things and he understood that. He only hoped it didn’t happen often since she got back.

“But earlier, I did run into that waiter from the cafe.” She suddenly remembered that.

“Waiter…?” He repeated before it came back to him. “Oh, that nosy waiter?”

It was different seeing Jisoo jealous, she didn’t see it often and it was also amusing given how kind and peaceful he usually is. “Yes.” She nodded. “Apparently he attends the same college as me. I hadn’t seen him around before but I suppose after seeing him at the cafe a few times now he finally spotted me and approached me.” As she explained it, she could see how unamused he was and she held back her laughter. He’s so cute like this… “He was trying to get my number since he invited me to one of his performances, but his friend interrupted and I had to go to class so it was a fail.”

“Too bad.” He didn’t sound sympathetic at all but then he realized what she had said. “Performance?”

“Yeah,” she nodded, “apparently he and his friends like to perform songs when it’s open mic at one of the cafes in town.”

“And you’re going?”

“To be nice.” She nodded.

“I see.” His eyes panned down to the table as he thought about it. Performance, huh?

“Have you ever thought about performing before in one of those cafes?” Hye Jin thought to ask. She could definitely see it happening.

“Not really.” He muttered shyly.

“I think it would be cool if you did. I’d come and cheer you on.” She flashed him a bright smile and it made his heart flutter.

“You really think so?”

“Yes!” She nodded, he could see the flicker of excitement in her eyes.

“Alright, I’ll think about it.” He caved before their pizza was delivered to the table. The two dug into their dinner and spent the rest of the time catching up with each other. When their time together came to an end they both couldn’t help but feel disappointed each time.

“I can give you a ride home?” She suggested when they pulled up to the studio once again.

“Oh…” Jisoo wasn’t expecting that and his mind literally went blank. “S-Sure.” He finally answered with a sheepish laugh. “I just have to go get my guitar.”

“That’s fine. It should fit in my trunk.” She assured him before they got out of her car. She mentioned she would wait for him at the front. He didn’t think much of it and entered the studio to get his guitar which left her alone at the front desk with Won Woo again.

“Did you have fun?” He suddenly broke the silence with a wide grin.

“Oh… uhm, yes.” She nodded with a cute smile.

“Did I startle you?” He chuckled at her reply. “Sorry.”

“It’s fine.” She assured him and tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear when she started to feel nervous because he was staring at her. “Uhm…?”

“Is that your car out there?” He asked while pointing out the glass door. “The white kia?”

“Yes?”

“Just wanted to make a note of it. I’ll call Jisoo up to the front whenever I see it.” He gave another wide smile.

“Okay, thank you.” She gave a small bow before a short silence fell upon them again. She wondered what was taking Jisoo so long to get his guitar. Maybe he’s talking to Jihoon?

“Are you taking Jisoo home?” Won Woo spoke up again. She simply nodded in reply this time. “That’s nice.” There was something about his smile that made Hye Jin feel weak. “Would you perhaps mind giving me a lift home tonight? I’ll give you gas money, of course.” He could see her tense up at his question and held back his laugh. He figured she was nervous right about now, which kind of surprised him. He thought she only had eyes for Jisoo but here she was, getting nervous over him. She’s pretty cute, I have to admit. He thought while waiting for her reply.

“Sure. I don’t mind.” She managed to say in a soft voice.

“Really? Thanks!” Won Woo said happily and he started to pack his things at his desk. Seungcheol would be taking over the front desk ten minutes from now at 8:00pm. A moment later, Jisoo emerged from the studio with his guitar case on his back and he apologized for the wait. “No worries, let’s get going now. I call shotgun!” Won Woo chimed while heading out the door, confusing Jisoo who immediately looked at Hye Jin for an explanation.

“Uh, he said he needed a ride home.” She replied innocently before turning to head out the door when Won Woo told them to hurry, the cold air was invading the warm building now. The two hurried out of the door and made their way to Hye Jin’s car. She unlocked the door for Won Woo to get in while she helped Jisoo put his guitar case in the trunk.

“You’re giving him a ride home?” He asked quietly.

“Yes. Should I not?” She frowned at his question. It sounded like she wasn’t supposed to and she started to worry if there was something about Won Woo she has to be wary of?

“No, I’m just surprised he even asked you for a ride is all.” He assured her. “He isn’t really the social type most of the time.”

“I see.” She understood now. That was something they might have in common then.

“Well, that’s nice of you… thanks.” He flashed her a sweet smile and she returned it before he shut the trunk. That smile soon faded off his lips when he realized he had to sit in the backseat now since Won Woo claimed the front passenger seat already.

“We’ll drop you off first, hyung!” Won Woo said after Hye Jin started her car.

“What? Why?” Jisoo was confused again.

“Your place is on the way to mine, it only makes sense to drop you off first?” He chuckled at their confused expressions, he didn’t realize that maybe they wanted to spend a little more time together.

“I suppose you’re right.” Hye Jin agreed before glancing back at Jisoo who continued to look confused. It made her giggle quietly before she put her car in drive and left the studio’s street.

~❤~

When they arrived to Jisoo’s apartment complex, Hye Jin was nice enough to walk Jisoo to his door, leaving Won Woo in her car alone. That made her slightly nervous given she didn’t know him too well, but he was a friend of Jisoo’s so she was assured he wouldn’t steal anything or worse, take off with her car.

“I guess I’ll see you again soon.” Hye Jin was the first to say. “I’m free on Friday.”

“I’m not free until the weekend, but maybe you’d want to come and watch the kids perform in the studio on Friday. Their friends and families are invited, so I don’t think it would be a problem if you were there.”

“Really? It sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll be there!” She smiled brightly. “Just text me the time.”

“I will.” He was glad to see her getting excited about it, all those jealous and bitter thoughts from earlier seemed to vanish by now. “Text me when you get home, alright?”

“Sure.” She nodded before they stood there for a few seconds and Jisoo opened up his arms, inviting her for a hug and it was adorable at how fast she hugged him. Her hold on him was tight, too, and that made his heart flutter. “Until next time.” She said after parting.

“Until next time.” He repeated with a warm smile. Then she turned and left back to her car. He waited until she was inside her car before opening the door of his apartment and headed in, those thoughts and feelings from before slowly started to surface again, but not because of that nosy waiter… it was Won Woo who was making him feel that way now with his sudden request of Hye Jin taking him home. He just found it really odd. Maybe I’m overthinking it? He thought until he snapped out of it when he noticed someone’s hand waving in his face.

“Earth to Jisoo, what are you spacing out about?” His roommate asked.

“Oh… nothing. Sorry.” Jisoo apologized before putting his toothbrush away and left the bathroom so Jeonghan could use it. He went to his room and lied down on his bed and faced the ceiling for a while before he eventually went to bed after Jeonghan said goodnight while passing his room in the hallway.

~❤~

“You live here?” Hye Jin asked slightly surprised when she pulled up into the parking lot of her apartment complex.

Won Woo simply nodded with a small laugh. “I recognized you earlier at the studio.” So that explained why he looked so fascinated. “I live in the apartment next to yours and I saw you from time to time but I never thought to say hi, you always looked busy or in a bad mood.”

“Really?” She frowned at his words. Bad mood?

“Maybe I was too quick to judge, sorry.” He said with an apologetic smile.

“It’s fine.”

“I guess I should properly introduce myself now.” He smiled while holding up his hand for her to shake. “Yo, the name’s Jeon Won Woo. Nice to meet you, neighbor.”

“Ah… nice to meet you, too. My name is Lee Hye Jin.” She shook his hand gently. “Sorry if I never noticed you until now.”

“That’s fine, I haven’t been home much lately so you wouldn’t have noticed anyway.” He assured her. “But that can change.” He added and she felt weak again at the smile he flashed her. Is he… flirting with me?

They finally got out of her car and headed up to the second floor where their apartments were located. He was sweet enough to walk her to her door and she thanked him. “If you need anything, feel free to come bother me.” He joked with a small laugh. “Goodnight, Hye Jin.”

“N-Night!” She said a bit slow and he just smiled while reaching over to ruffle her hair a bit.

“You’re cute.” He said before turning around and headed into his apartment leaving her there stunned by the small encounter. When a small gust of cold air blew by, she snapped out of it and quickly headed inside only to be greeted by her younger roommate camped out on the living room couch with Hye Jin’s container of cookies in her lap while she was binge watching a K-Drama on the TV.

“Yah! Chan Mei Yi! Those are my cookies, I told you to stay away from them!” Hye Jin shouted, not considering the neighbors could hear, especially Won Woo. He was putting away his jacket when he heard her shouting and couldn’t help but laugh as he heard the two girls get into a small scuffle next door. It was interesting now that he knew who she was. Before, he paid no mind to the voices next door when he’d come get a change of clothes and check up on his apartment.

As he mentioned before, he wasn’t home a lot since he’d usually hitch a ride home with Jihoon or spent the night at his best friend Mingyu’s house. He hated living alone and it was why he didn’t spend much time at his apartment, but now… “I probably should go grocery shopping soon. There’s probably nothing in the fridge.” He muttered to himself as he got ready for bed.

He took a shower before tidying up his place a bit, there wasn’t much to do but it gave him the chance to see what he needed to do regarding living there again. He concluded he definitely needed food. That gave him something to do tomorrow afternoon since he had the day off.

After planning his day for tomorrow, he finally headed to bed. He changed out of his clothes and put on something more comfortable to sleep in and lied down with a long and tired sigh. “What a day.” He muttered. “Sitting at the desk doing nothing took a lot out of me.” He joked to himself with a small laugh before he heard something and quickly stopped. He held his breath, as if that would help him hear better.

He could hear a faint voice, a singing voice through the wall next to him. He wondered if Hye Jin’s room was right next to his! Shamelessly, he scooted over a bit more to put his ear against the wall to see if she was playing music on her phone or some speakers and was surprised. It had to be her own voice because he didn’t hear any background music. When the singing stopped, he involuntarily frowned.

“I’m going to bed now!” He heard a younger girl say in the doorway. Hye Jin’s reply sounded closer to the wall, and he flinched when he got startled. So, it definitely had to be her room.

“Goodnight, sweet dreams!” Hye Jin happily chirped before he heard her crawl onto her bed to lie down. He could hear her getting comfortable and decided maybe that was enough of him being a creep for one night.

“Goodnight.” He said softly before turning to face away from the wall.

But after this chapter, everything shall be brand new~!

I’ve finally figured out what I want to do with this story, and will be working on it as much as I can.

I’ve neglected this story for a long time, and I hope I won’t do that again…

But I can’t make solid promises, my Meanie fic is the most popular on my account so I do work on it the most. Regardless, I’ll try to make more time for this fic!

Straight Won Woo has his everything crossed in hopes that I won’t disappear from this fic again lol

He wants to hear Hye Jin singing again lol

Wah, Gongchan is in it~!!!
College life is hard, even though I found hi school much harder, mostly because of how stuff packed the scheduling was. College is more flowing and you can control what your schedule will be and which class with which teacher you want. Though even with some things becoming easier, it's still mentally stressful since we are more in control of our lives than we were in high school, especially if there is partner group projects and some don't want to do their share or they "forgot". Had those moments happen to me and I wasn't a happy camper.
