Jeonghan was miserable. He had never known his father - his parents had gotten divorced when he was only a year old, and his father had moved more than halfway across the country. But in a tragic accident, 16 year old Jeonghan's mother had died in a car fire and Jeonghan was sent to Seoul to live with his father, far away from his hometown and his school and his friends. He had lived with his father for one week - one week - before he was expected to start school. And he was miserable. Everything had happened so quickly: the loss of his mother, meeting his father for the first time, saying goodbye to his friends, moving halfway across the country, and now starting at a brand new school where the total number of people that he knew equaled 0. He just wished that he could have a friend - just one friend. Someone who would make him feel welcome here. Someone who would stick with him and help him through all of this.

Jisoo was a Wish Agent. Whenever someone wishes on a star, their wish is recorded and cataloged, and then sent to a Wish Station, where it is assigned to a Wish Agent - like Jisoo. Most of Jisoo's assignments had been fairly simple: a little girl wishing to stop fighting with her mother, a middle school student wishing to make the sports team. To be quite frank, he was bored. He was bored with immortality and bored with the petty, selfish wishes that he was assigned to grant. But now Jisoo found himself presented with a special mission, and the knowledge that if he chose to accept it, this mission could very well be his last. He could have to give up his immortality and live on Earth as a human, with a normal human life span. Though most agents would have shuddered at the thought of it, Jisoo found that it wasn't very hard to make his decision. His mission? To be a friend to one Yoon Jeonghan.
