Take My Hand
The NotebookIt was raining.
The funeral was long.
To long.
Everyone was crying but Leo didn’t understand.
Why was everyone crying?
Where was his mom.

Leo sat at the edge of his bed.
He couldn’t get any sleep..
He couldn’t.
Everything was wrong.
Nothing seemed right.
Even Honey didn’t purr.
Leo wasn’t hungry.
Leo didn’t know what to do with himself.
After what he had done to Lay.
Everything was wrong.
Leo picked up the phone.
He couldn’t do it anymore.
Not this.
The phone rang for a minute before Lay’s small voice started to answer.
“Hello?”
Leo didn’t want to do this but he knew he had to.
For both of their sake.
“Lay, don’t come anymore.”
Lay didn’t answer.
“Why, what’s the matter, Gege?”
Leo sighed and rubbed his eyes.
“Don’t come to the cafe’ anymore, don’t see me anymore.”
Lay seemed to have frozen
“Why, did I do something wrong?”
Leo shook his head.
This wasn’t Lay’s fault.
He didn’t want Lay to blame himself.
This was all Leo’s fault.
“It’s just, I don’t want to work with you anymore.”
The words stabbed through like a sharp sword.
It was quiet.
No one spoke and all sounded mute.
“I’m sorry.”
Leo hung up without waiting.
He didn’t want to break Lay’s heart anymore.
Leo sighed and fell on his bed.
So this was it.
He was all alone in the world once more.
With no one to love him.
With no one to love.
Leo was alone again.
Tuesday.
_________
Leo sat and watched the children run around the park.
It was a quiet tuesday.
It had been two days since he told Lay to leave.
Lay had called back a couple of times but Leo never answered.
“Leo!”
Lay’s soft voice shouted from across the street.
Leo turned around to see Lay standing beside Kris.
Leo groaned softly.
No.
He didn’t want to see Lay, not now.
He didn’t have enough strength to see him now.
Lay ran over to Leo.
Who was sitting on his bicycle.
“Leo, what happened?”
Lay ran in front of Leo’s bike, not letting him drive away on time.
“Nothing, I just want this whole thing to end, I don’t think I could do it anymore.” Kris’s face dropped as he started to give Leo an ugly glare.
“After all the work that Lay went through, You’re just going to quit on him!” Kris turned red.
Leo’s expression didn’t change as he tried once again to leave the scene.
“But I was going to try and shake people's hands.” Lay’s small voice trembled.
Leo smiled and reached his hand out.
“Than let this be our first and last handshake.”
Lay shook Leo’s hands.
“Goodbye Lay,I’m really proud of you.”
Leo smiled and rode away.
I’m Sorry Lay
