An Autumn in Seoul

Ch.1

Summer passed and autumn was in the air. Even so was the London city air still warm and so Mino could still enjoy his morning coffee out in the sun in front of the bookshop.

He had spent several weeks together with Seungyoon earlier in the summer and they had finally been able to see the many sights of the city. They had even revisited the aquarium they had gone together with Seunghoon to before. Now was it over a month since he had seen Seungyoon however because he had gone back to Seoul to promote his new album.

That was about to change as the weekend was quickly approaching and Seungyoon’s return to the city. It was only for a quick visit this time and for work, but it didn’t matter because Mino would be coming with Seungyoon back to Seoul this time.

Walking into the bookshop with his now empty cup of coffee he thought about how great the coffee Seungyoon made was. It was a shame that he didn’t have time to work as a barista anymore. At least he had kept the apron Mino thought to himself. He kept that though and still had a small smile playing on his lips when he began unpacking a few boxes that had just been delivered. The fact that he would be seeing him soon kept his spirit high but it made him impatient.

His last workday had passed slower than ever. With the only highlight having been the cookies the old lady working in the next door shop had brought. Gnawing on a cookie he checked his phone yet again for messages. Nothing this time either. Stuffing the rest of the cookie in his mouth he began closing up the shop for the evening.

Half an hour later and he was locking up the front shop door. The last of the cookies was about to  suffer the same destiny as the others when he heard a familiar laugh behind him.

"Nice of you to bring me food"

Seungyoon said and snatched the cookie out of his hand. Stuffing the whole cookie in his mouth he smiled between chewing before asking

"Missed me?"

Mino, who was still grieving over the loss of his last cookie looked over at Seungyoon’s grinning face.

"My cookie.."

He said staring at Seungyoon’s now innocent face with disbelief. Their eyes made contact instantly and he watched as Seungyoon blinked at him expectantly him without moving.

"I have to go after it!"

Mino exclaimed dramatically closing in Seungyoon fast, lips locking moments later. Nibbling lightly on Seungyoon’s bottom lip he couldn’t help but to let his hands wander a little even if they were out on a side street in one of the busiest cities in Europe.

"I’ve missed you and your nonexistent "

He confessed between placing a couple of more kisses on Seungyoon’s plump lips and lightly grabbing his . He felt Seungyoon smile into his lips and so he pulled away to give him another look.

"I’ve missed you too, thanks again for the cookie"

Seungyoon replied and Mino gave him a grudge bearing look as to say he still had not forgiven him for that.

"Let’s get home shall we?"

Seungyoon said after a moment of silence where both had just been grinning at each other. Mino began walking down the street with Seungyoon following right behind him.

"My home or your home?"

He asked as they reached the main street. Seungyoon shrugged and Mino took it as a sign that he could choose and said

"Mine then"

Before starting on the road to his place. Seungyoon caught up with him then and grabbed his hand. Mino could feel his heart beating faster as he did. Hand holding had become a bit of thing for them. It was too bad they couldn’t keep it up when they traveled to Seoul in a few days. 

Seungyoon had left early in the morning to attend one last business meeting leaving Mino to himself. He had brought all his luggage to Seungyoon’s place the afternoon before and they had spent one last evening walking the streets of London together before heading off to Seoul.

Mino sipped on his sadly bland coffee and dreamed of Seungyoon’s well-made ones. Watching the quiet city street he couldn’t help but to feel a bit anxious about the day he was about to face.

It weren’t that he was afraid to fly or anything like that, but he didn’t know what to expect. Having asked Seungyoon earlier had he only replied that he should wear a hat and sunglasses. At least when they land at Incheon airport back in Korea.

Watching the clock on the wall he emptied his cup of coffee and headed towards their stack of luggage. He had left his hat and sunglasses there as they didn’t quite match the British weather. Rain was pouring down as autumn had already begun creeping in on them a few weeks before.

He didn’t mind that autumn meant bad weather, because it was such a great excuse to stay inside, eat good food and watch movies every evening.

A taxi was supposed to pick him up with the luggage and he would meet Seungyoon at the check in when he arrived at the airport. The taxi was late however and he was getting anxious for whether or not he would make it on time.

Ten minutes later and the taxi was there and when he arrived at the airport was he nearly half an hour too late. They still got time for check-in, but they had to hurry. He found Seungyoon by the self-check-in sipping on a huge frozen vanilla latte while tapping his foot staring around the huge hall.

"I’m sorry, traffic and all that"

He began, but Seungyoon only took his luggage and began attaching the tags. He decided not say anything else and hurried along when Seungyoon started on the walk towards the security.

When they finally arrived at the gate had the last call begun an old lady had arrived before them. They followed onto the plane after her and got to their seats at the front on business class. Seungyoon took the seat by the window and Mino beside him. They sat in silence during takeoff, but after a while in the air had he decided to apologize again. That was when he noticed that Seungyoon were already fast asleep, chin resting on his chest.

Mino had to admit that he was a little worried for Seungyoon. The contrast from when they had first met and now was striking.

He had lost quite a bit of weight, he was pale and dark circles were constantly present under his eyes. That weren’t the worst part either. It was his restlessness combined with an unusual silence. He had brought it up the night before, but Seungyoon had reassured him that it was just lack of sleep and stress.

Watching Seungyoon sleep in such an awkward position he asked for a blanket from a flight attendant. He then proceeded to wrap him up in blanket while giving him a small nudge so that he was resting on the side.

They had a long flight ahead and so he wrapped himself up in a blanket as well. Sleep didn’t come to him at first and Mino knew he only had his own worries to blame. Watching Seungyoon’s sleeping form he thought about the reason for why he had moved to London to begin with. Was there anything he could do to help when they arrived in Seoul?

Before falling asleep had he stuffed his face with three packets of gummy bears and played several rounds of his favorite mobile game.

He woke to the sensation of something getting stuffed into his ear. It was Seungyoon who had woken before him and was attempting to wake him with music.

"You could just sing something you know? It would have been a lot nicer than this"

He pointed to the air plug dangling in his hand and Seungyoon chuckled seemingly unaffected by his comment.

"They are serving food, I figured you didn’t want to miss out on that"

Seungyoon explained while gnawing on one of the few gummy bears he had let live from earlier. Mino had to admit he was hungry and leaned out on the isle to see how the progress with handing out the food was going.

He couldn’t spot any food, but his nose told him it couldn’t be far away. Leaning out further he suddenly felt Seungyoon tug at his arm pulling him back up. The trolley had been behind him and so his head had actually been stalling the process.

Feeling a little embarrassed he looked over at Seungyoon, but he were laughing.

"You’re too cute"

Seungyoon said and ate another piece of candy. Still feeling embarrassed he tried to laugh it off before saying

"You shouldn’t eat those now that we are getting food served"

He didn’t look to like Mino’s remark and so instead of listening had he emptied the small bag of candy into his hand. He then proceeded to stuff them all in his mouth at once grinning widely.

"Wat wash dat?"

Seungyoon asked while giggling and chewing down the gummy bears. Mino gave huge sigh pretending to be disappointed with his manners when he in fact only was sad that they now were out of gummy bears.

"I’ll have to eat you later instead"

He replied attempting to make it sound like a real threat before turning in his seat to look for the food again.

After having finished their food had both dozed off again. The next time he woke up was it to get ready for landing. He was a little puzzled by their flight route as he used to transfer in Frankfurt, but Seungyoon had chosen differently. Their transfer had gone smoothly however and they were soon on their next flight heading for Incheon and Seoul.

Nothing could have prepared Mino for what awaited them at the airport. As soon as they passed customs had it been pure chaos.

"You could have warned me about your fans"

He mumbled into Seungyoon’s ear as they pushed their way through the crowd accompanied by 8 guards.

"I didn’t think they would know that I’d arrive today. They leaked a different flight a few days ago"

Seungyoon replied while pushing his sunglasses further up his nose. Mino followed his example and pulled his hat further down into his face as well. A man who had to be Seungyoon’s manager met them with their suitcases. From there were they ushered through the hall, outside and into a car.
