of frozen wheels and cold nights 
spent alone in the dark, i remember 
when time stopped only for the 
two of us. we watched as the snow
fall by your car window, and 
talked about our dreams,
fears, and even the past we 
thought wasn't worth that 
remembering. but suddenly, 
you turned as cold as ice, 
leaving me trace your foot marks
on the snow (not knowing if 
you'll ever come back).

of falling leaves and windy 
afternoons, i remember how you 
whispered to me how you'd end 
up losing in life but i told you 
that you're amazing, and you just
needed the motivation to move 
forward. i remember your smile that
made my heart flutter, and how you 
looked at me with those eyes. i 
thought you needed me, but it guess
it was just me. why did the wind
blow us in this direction?

of frozen treats and warm sunday 
mornings, i remember how your 
laugh could practically make my day
and how amusing that you're 
actually that talkative. i remember 
when you took me out for a meal,
and god, that was the most wonderful
moment of my life. you and i, just you 
and i. we were one for a moment. but i 
guess a fire that shines too bright 
doesn't last. 

of colors and new beginnings, i remember 
how one smile changed everything, how
one conversation made me interested 
for a bit, and how one person transformed 
my life entirely. you came so sudden, 
but as they say, what comes easy 
goes easy (you were an example of that phrase).

of pretend smiles and aching heart,
i write this especially for you: the one 
who barged into my life without even 
thinking of knocking. i welcomed you, 
wishing you'd stay, but you're just like anyone 
who entered my door: you left without an
explanation. we weren't together, so i 
suppose you don't really owe me a goodbye.
