ISTJ-A / Scorpio / Slytherin / True Neutral

Personality.

Hardworking and zealous : Miyeon gives her all in performing as it has been her dream to perform on stage for a long time. She makes sure to practise until she can remember all the lyrics and hit all the right notes or memorise every move of a choreography and execute it perfectly before she goes for evaluations, often staying up long after the other contestants to practise alone.

Loyal and protective : It's not easy for Miyeon to make friends due to her resting face and cold nature, so she greatly cherishes those she who have proven her she can trust them and sticks by their side no matter what. If someone tries to badmouth someone she's close to, she will defend them with her life and attack them mercilessly.

Responsible and caring : Miyeon makes sure to look out for the other contestants and keep them out of trouble. She keeps the promises she makes, and even if her heart is no longer set on something, she commits to it. She won't say "I love you" out loud, but she'll show concern for the other contestants in small ways like asking them if they've brushed their teeth or eaten their meals, wishing them good luck before evaluations or other important things and scolding them when they are reckless.

Cold-hearted : Though Miyeon cares for the other contestants, she has no qualms being cruel to them either, especially when she feels they are slacking too much or not putting enough effort into training. Other than people she is close to, she generally doesn't care about the well being of others. Her goal is to make it as an idol, and if she has to be the bad guy to achieve this goal, she doesn't mind doing so.

Strict and rigid : To Miyeon, failure is defeat, and therefore, she puts pressure not only on herself but also the other contestants to be disciplined, put all their effort into training and get everything right, because to her, that is exactly how to avoid failure. She makes sure she follows her schedules and the rules set for her exactly, and often reminds her fellow contestants to do the same, even scolding the contestants she cares enough about for not doing so.

Irritable : Going along with Miyeon being strict and unable to stand a lack of discipline or half-assed effort during training, she will fly into a rage when she feels her members are slacking too much and / or not giving their best, or even if you simply did or said the wrong thing at the wrong time. And once you've annoyed Miyeon, she'll yell at you till the cows come home, until she has been appeased.

Reserved : Miyeon doesn't believe in socialising simply for the sake of socialising, or up to someone she does not like. She'll only let you get close to her if she decides she likes you. Even so, she will take a long time to open up to you. She usually keeps to herself, only speaking up if she has a strong opinion, if she needs something or someone speaks to her first.

Honest : Miyeon believes that in order to correct someone so they can improve, they need to be told exactly what they are doing wrong. Therefore, she doesn't sugarcoat her criticism and doesn't care how insensitive she is when telling people off. However, if she has praises to give, you can be sure they are from the bottom of her heart.

Stubborn and petty : When Miyeon’s mind is set on something, she’ll do everything she can to get it. Don’t try to tell her what she should do or what’s good for her, she won’t listen. Be careful not to upset Miyeon, because she's not one to forgive easily and holds grudges.

Cocky : Miyeon knows she is pretty, and that her many years of tranining have made her very talented. Because of this, she tends to look down on the contestants who are not as talented and / or did not train for long.

Competitive : Since young and during her training days at Pledis, Miyeon had been often compared unfavourably to Siyeon. Because of this, Miyeon felt that she had to outdo Siyeon to be noticed. Even though the sisters are now in different companies, Miyeon still feels that she has to do better than anyone else around her if she wants to be on top. If Miyeon feels other people are "stealing" attention from her, This Means War. She'll fight anyone who she believes to be stealing her thunder relentlessly.

Background.

Miyeon was born in 2000, with one twin sister, Siyeon. Growing up, while Siyeon was intelligent and a fast learner, Miyeon was not so smart and slow to pick things up. During her childhood, Miyeon had often unintentionally been compared negatively to Siyeon by her parents and relatives, and while Siyeon earned many praises from them, praise towards Miyeon was few and far between. Siyeon was smart, pretty and talented in singing and playing instruments, and as hard as Miyeon tried, she was never able to match up.

In 2008, Siyeon wanted to take part in Pledis Superstar. Not wanting to lose out, Miyeon decided to participate with her sister. Both sisters eventually became Pledis trainees, but while Siyeon shot many CFs and dramas predebut, it seemed that Miyeon was always cast aside for another girl who was prettier or more talented. She just wanted everyone to believe she could be as good as her sister. She tried not to mind that Pledis didn't debut her in After School or Hello Venus, despite the fact she was far too young to debut then. But when Siyeon was chosen to participate in Produce 101 without her, it just hurt Miyeon more. Why couldn't Pledis see that she too was trying her best?

Finally, in 2017, Miyeon decided to leave Pledis. She knew Siyeon was the princess of Pledis and if she could have dethroned her sister, she would have done so years ago instead of being stuck in the basement all these years. Miyeon auditioned for many companies but was constantly told "sorry" or "better luck next time", until she went for an audition for a company called Unite Media and was accepted. After several months of training at Unite Media, Miyeon was chosen to participate on their reality show, International Idol, but unfortunately did not make it to the final team. However, Miyeon was determined to upstage Siyeon, and in 2018 was chosen to participate in International Idol season 2.

Relationships.

you are my sis... you're my sis! boogie woogie woogie!
Sister / Park Siyeon / 18 / Idol / Cheerful, sweet, hardworking, zealous, outgoing / Miyeon had often been compared negatively to Siyeon when they were younger, and Siyeon had been more successful than Miyeon ever since they were in Pledis. This made Miyeon resent Siyeon, and want to do anything she could to one-up her twin. However, they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and indeed, sometimes, Miyeon does find herself missing her sister. Deep down, Miyeon does love Siyeon, but she'll never explicitly admit it.
nova
Fellow contestant / Nova Myung / 15 / Trainee / ESFP / Nova is younger than Miyeon, gorgeous, and attention-seeking. Because of this, Nova gets a lot of attention from viewers, which causes for a rivalry between her and Miyeon.
kasem
Fellow contestant / Kasem Song / 22 / Trainee / INFP / Miyeon doesn't really talk to Kasem much since she's antisocial, and the older boy is a quiet one too. (mostly up to you to decide)
lihan
Fellow contestant / Yao Lihan / 16 / Trainee / ISTP / Lihan and Miyeon often get into arguments because of Miyeon being overly serious and strict while Lihan is more of an "anything goes" guy. However, Miyeon appreciates him being calm and goal-driven, and that he helps her to keep the other contestants focused when needed. Secretly, she looks up to him despite him being younger, as he has the leadership skills that she seems to lack.
aurora
Fellow contestant / Aurora Myung / 23 / Trainee / ISTJ / To Miyeon, Aurora is like an older version of herself, and Miyeon looks up to Aurora. (mostly up to you to decide)
yumi
Fellow contestant / Tanaka Yumi / 16 / Trainee / shy, cheerful, sweet, excitable, playful / Yumi reminds Miyeon so much of Siyeon. Somehow, Miyeon can't see the younger girl as trying to upstage her or steal her thunder, because she's just so sweet, cute and nice. And Miyeon just wants to protect her and give her all the love in the world. Plus thanks to Yumi, Miyeon is trying to improve her relationship with Siyeon and be nicer to her sister.
rae
Fellow contestant / Rachel Lim / 28 / Trainee / cheerful, confident, brave / Rachel is another one that Miyeon found herself growing to love. Rachel is a younger sister too, and her love for Rebecca reminded Miyeon of how much the younger girl was loved by her twin despite how much Miyeon competed with her in everything, and just like with Yumi, Rachel helped Miyeon to love Siyeon more.
hae
Fellow contestant / Lee Haero / 27 / Trainee / confident, determined, charismatic / Miyeon won't deny Haero left a bitter taste in after the first season of International Idol. Back then, the two constantly fought due to Miyeon believing Haero was an attention seeker who was constantly trying to upstage her. But surprisingly when they reunited, the older girl was unexpectedly nice to Miyeon, and Miyeon too finds herself being a little less cruel towards Haero.
mina
U/Idol Member / Tanaka Mina / 19 / Idol / cheerful, confident, brave, protective / Mina and Miyeon didn't start off on the best foot, because both are irritable and quarreled over small things, and it didn't help that Miyeon got jealous of the older girl winning International Idol season 1. But as time went by, Miyeon learnt to let go of her jealousy. Mainly because of Yumi, but at least Mina can approach Miyeon without fearing she'll get yelled at now.

Stage Name. Miyeon

Talent Twin. CLC's Seungyeon (Loona's Yves)

Trainee years. 2008-2017 (Pledis) 2017-present (Unite Media)

Trainee Life.
Everytime Miyeon saw girls being chosen to be part of a group, her heart sank a little. Sure, she was only 9 when After School debuted and 12 when Hello Venus debuted, but she had put in hard work training. It didn't help that Siyeon managed to rack up experience in CFs and dramas, making Miyeon wonder what was it about her sister that she lacked. In 2015, when Siyeon was chosen as one of the representatives for Produce 101 and when Pristin debuted in 2017 and Miyeon did not make it to the lineup, she almost broke. It hurt to see her sister doing so well and earning praises from everyone, while it seemed nobody loved her.

Realising that Pledis would never let her be as good as her sister, Miyeon decided to leave the company in 2017, and later was accepted to Unite Media. However, being in a different company from Miyeon didn't make her lose her competitive edge, and while at Unite Media, Miyeon constantly fought to reach the top, so she could be in the spotlight as fast as possible. And she got her wish when she was chosen to participate on the very first season of International Idol. Despite not making it to the final team, Miyeon was determined to debut under Unite Media somehow. And just nice, International Idol decided to come back for a second season, giving Miyeon another chance to bask in the spotlight.

Previous Activities.

2008-2017 / Backup dancer for various Pledis artistes / groups

Scandals.

will add if I think of anything

Hello! Could you please introduce yourself?

Hi everyone, my name is Park Miyeon.

Why did you decide to audition for International Idol?

My sister Siyeon, who you may know as Pristin's Xiyeon, outdid me in everything since I was young. We both became Pledis trainees at the age of 8, and Siyeon kept getting to shoot dramas and CFs and even went on Produce 101 and debuted in a girl group but I got nothing! So of course I deserve my time to shine, right?

What was your audition song?

I auditioned with Chungha's Why Don't You Know.

What do you believe sets you apart from the other contestants?

I'm hardworking and goal-driven. When I want something, I do anything I can to get it and don't stop until I've gotten exactly what I want. So many other kids cry and give up when the going gets tough, but for me, when the going gets tough, I get going.

What skill or skills are you most confident in?

I'm good at dancing and singing. I can also rap a little.

If given the chance, what skill would you like to show off and if that skill wasn't available for whatever reason, what other skill would you pick?

I would like to show off my dance skills, if not my vocals.

What concepts do you prefer and what ones don't you like?

I like girl crush concepts. I like portraying myself as a strong and confident woman. I don't like cute concepts, like seriously, do you think I'm five? I also don't like y concepts. There is a thin line between being y and degrading yourself, and a lot of y concept choreographies usually cross the line. But I'm not someone who'll grind against the floor for attention or something.

If you were in a group with a concept you didn't like and were given the chance to switch to one with a concept that suits you better, would you switch or stay with your group?

Obviously I would switch. I don't want to look like an attention seeker or an overgrown baby and ridicule myself.

What amount of members do you think the winning group should have?

Ten. All the produce shows so far produced groups with either nine, eleven or twelve members. Ten would be a nice in between.

If you won, how do you think you would react?

Obviously, I'd be happy. I've been training for 10 years and I deserve it.

And on the other side of that, if you lost, how do you think you would react?

I would definitely be upset. This isn't the first time I'm participating on International Idol and I really want to make it as an idol too.

Lastly, is there anything you would like to say to your mentors, other contestants or the audience?
To my mentors, thank you for your guidance. To other contestants, good luck I guess. To the audience, please vote for me.

Thank you for participating in our interview today! We wish you the best of luck!

Hi again Akira! I didn't think I would get to Yumi and Rachel so soon after Miyeon but here we go. Also, as Yumi and Rachel are the next two applications to be reviewed, I hope you don’t mind that I am conducting them in the same review. I apologise in advance for the long review, but let’s get right into it.

I’m going to start with Yumi. First off, in the cheatsheet it states to please avoid faceclaims from IZONE as Produce 48 would have already aired by the time of International Idol season two, so please change Yumi’s backup faceclaim from Nako to someone else. In her trivia section, you mention that Sana is her favourite member of Twice, but as Sana is Mina’s faceclaim, could you please change it to another member of Twice? Also you mention that Yumi is attending an international school and normally my brain would go to thinking an English international school but I am unsure wether you mean an English one or Japanese one, so could you please clarify that?

In Yuma’s relationships, you state that Mina and Yumi are not allowed to interact on camera, but as U/IDOL will be hosting and helping to mentor the contestants of International Idol season two, I am sure there will be many times that they will have the chance to interact, so I would love if you could maybe add how they do interact while on camera and how that varies from the usual way they interact (if it does at all). Like are they constantly hugging or showing sisterly signs of affection or does Yumi hide away from Mina? I would love to know so I could get a better idea of how to write their relationship.

Other than that just Yumi is so cute and she seriously has me crying because of her cuteness. I absolutely love her and I love the variety your character’s have. It’s going to make writing each one of them so much fun! Anyway, let’s move on to Rachel now!

There is just one thing I need you to fix with Rachel and that is her back up faceclaim. Could you please change Rachel’s back up faceclaim to someone older? I feel like Vivi is a little too young to be seen as a ’90 liner.

If you fix those things I started for both Yumi and Rachel, I would be more than happy to accept them! Thank you again for applying with more characters!

Hello Akira! Thank you for applying to International Idol! Let's get into your review for Miyeon!

I'm so happy to see Miyeon again as I really loved her when you submitted her for U/IDOL! There are just a few things you have to add/fix before I can accept Miyeon. First off, could you please add the first season of International Idol to her pre-debut section? Could you please also add a song she could have sang within the audition as I am undecided wether I want to allow the contestants to just dance as opposed to also singing in their auditions for International Idol. Also in her interview section, as the interviews will be broadcasted, I would love if you could remove the use of the word , as I don't really think that would do anything good for the show and the support of Miyeon herself. Other than that, I am really like Miyeon and I am glad to see her again. If you adjust and add the things I mentioned, I would be more than happy to accept her!
