"wait, what do you mean i can't wear suits everywhere?"

faceclaim:
- lee hongki (granted, the gallery is ty, but there are tons of pictures of him on the google)

backup:
- shin hyesung (same as above; also i want no one but hongki lol)

height:
- 175cm

weight:
- 65kg

appearance:
- same as faceclaim except slightly younger, aka he looks like he's 25, maybe 27-30 if you really stretch it (which, ironically, hongki's 29 this year lol). specifically, he has two moles on the right side of his face and a myriad of scars on his arms and hands. he's pale, not quite too strange in the grand scheme of things but definitely odd enough to notice. his eyes are a deep, startling purple, almost black under normal circumstances but a beautiful amythest in the light. skinny but well-defined. lithe, graceful. when he smiles, his canines seem almost too long to be normal. (although ngl hongki's canines are quite long and that was why i made him a vampire in the first place LOL).

style:
- jaebin does not wear color. it's not his thing, really, and in any case, who's going to see him besides his colleagues? in the company, he wears full suits, all black and white, sometimes with a tie and sometimes without, but never a bowtie. occasionally, if the day strikes his fancy, he'll wear - get this! - a dark blue suit. wow, much change, so amaze.

- he could care less about how he presents himself to his gemini colleagues. sometimes he'll show up in sweatpants and a shirt, sometimes a suit, other times the suit without the jacket. it all depends on his mood and where he was beforehand and what he was feeling.

- at home, he wears mostly long sleeves, sweatpants, sometimes a t-shirt if the weather is hot. his color scheme at home is gray and white, sometimes black if he runs out of clothes (yeah, vampires have to do the laundry too). his sleep mask is navy blue, though, and his slippers are blue and green plaid.

- the only item (accessory, if you will) that he wears is a pin. he always wears it on his suits, takes it off at home and puts it back on in the morning, carries it in his pocket if he's not wearing a suit. it looks something like this [try this if it still doesn't work] (imagine it's a pin). his sister gave it to him, and he treasures it more than anything else in the world. the only splash of color in his life since she left.

"didn't you know? one's upbringing determines everything."

"it's a good life, but is it really the one i want?"

traits:
+ kind, cheerful, comforting, loyal
- temperamental, lazy, ruthless

personality:
jaebin is one of those people who has a face but actually isn't quite as bad as he seems. he's talkative and always has a good word for anyone around him. he's kind and attentive, and he remembers the small details about people he's close with, like their coffee order and their nervous tics. he's someone who makes other people feel comfortable, and he tends to be an older brother figure, protecting his close friends and providing a comforting presence if they need to talk about a personal problem.

however, he does have a temper, and it's fairly short. he hates being told twice to do something, especially if he was going to be doing it anyway, and he hates it when other people don't listen to him or take his words seriously. when he's angry, he doesn't yell; he stands there and looks at you, and the anger burns on its own. he's also quite ambitious, and he'll do anything to rise in power, which can cause him to be ruthless and two-faced, throwing away connections like the wind. but no matter what, he won't betray the people who have proven to be loyal to him. however, despite being ambitious and power-hungry, jaebin is not necessarily the kind of person who likes to work for it. he'd much rather his power and money be handed to him than actually have to put in effort for it. it's an odd paradox, but why work when you can lie around and do nothing?

background:
- jaebin was born in beijing towards the end of the qing dynasty. his mother was the daughter of a prominent merchant, and his father was a successful korean businessman. it was not a good time to be born. in 1900, the eight-nation alliance barged in like they owned the place, and the country was in chaos. thirteen years later, his sister saebin was born, and the entire world fell into a time of madness. jaebin was too little to remember much, but in 1912, when the dynasty finally fell, the family moved to korea. since then, life was pretty much normal, unless you count the fact that korea was probably ed up too, but in any case, that's not important here.

- when jaebin graduated from high school, his parents sent him to america for college. they wanted him to be a businessman so that he could inherit his father's monopoly on the silk stocking business, but jaebin hated business. he hated business and he hated silk stockings, but he went to america anyway. the year was 1917, and america had just entered world war i. jaebin liked america. he liked how different it was from both korea and china, and he liked the kids at his school. he did get bullied for being asian, and this was the start of everything terrible.

- he didn't like to fight, but one day, when a few kids followed him home from school and knocked him down to fight, something just snapped. jaebin doesn't remember anything from the fight, but when he came to consciousness again, the kids were lying on the ground, crumpled into a heap, and bleeding profusely. one of them looked like he had just seen a ghost, and he kept babbling about a purpled-eyed monster and shadows. jaebin knew he would be in trouble if anyone saw, so he yaet himself out of there and tried to forget about it. he couldn't, and the thought of the blood on the ground made him ashamedly excited.

- the next time he went back to korea, it was 1922. jaebin had an mba (he graduated early) and just missed the great depression. #sorrynotsorry. china was under the rule of the roc, and jaebin decided to go back to visit with his mom and sister. they didn't go to beijing, but instead to shanghai, where his mom had family. shanghai was in its jazz phase (this might not actually be a thing but it's what i associate with 1920s china lol), and the communist party had just gained control of the city. there wasn't a lot happening, only the occasional party and dinner with family. but it was there that jaebin learned the secret that would change his life forever.

- he was a vampire. his mom was a full vampire from a mafia organization or sorts, and his dad was just human. vampires, it turned out, gathered in the large cities of china and searched for young men to continue their bloodline. his dad had no clue at the time, but he found out right after jaebin's birth. he was #shook, but since nothing bad had happened to him, he decided that he would keep his wife's secret and support her family. in terms of the mafia, he would be an associate, and in turn, the family protected him and made sure that his business boomed.

[the mafia was my little tidbit to explain the connection but i guess it did less than what i wanted -- an associate in the mafia is someone not in the Familia but instead works for them; they get many of the same benefits but never get to rise in power. here, jaebin's dad, having not been born into the family or even a vampire himself, will never fully be accepted into the family, but since he did marry a vampire, he still gets a lot of the protection from the family that normal vampire family members do.]

- jaebin didn't know how to feel. it explained his fight scene from when he was still in america, but not much else. he was young, just wanted to be a writer, didn't care for business or the whole vampy business. he went into recluse, stayed in his parents' vacation home in the mountains that they bought right then and there for him to emo out in, and wrote out his feelings. his mother visited often, teaching him about his vampire side and tuning him into his powers. in 1937, the world was stirring again, and in 1939, the second world war broke. jaebin was more or less unaffected, learning how to use and control his powers. he had many monstrous episodes, tearing into wild animals for their blood, but in the mountains, no one could reach him, and bit by bit, jaebin learned to control himself.

- after the war ended, jaebin reemerged into society, fully competent as a vampire, only to find a cold war still happening. by this point, jaebin's father was old, and his mother, still as young as ever, took over the company. jaebin, against his better conscience, went back to america, this time with his sister. with the cold war in full swing, and the korean war as well, it was clear that they were not welcome. in fear of anything happening like the last time he was here, jaebin mostly stayed by himself, but his sister loved going out and hanging with friends.

- it was one day at night, and though he knew she could manage herself, jaebin went out to look for his sister after she hadn't returned at midnight. he found her in an alleyway, surrounded by gangsters, clearly losing the fight. that was the day he made his first human kill. many human kills, actually, and after he finished, a jolt of thrill and adrenaline ran through him, and he fed on human blood for the first time.

- in 1972, jaebin returned to korea on his mother's demands. she had converted the business into a publishing company, since silk stockings were no longer making money, and she wanted him to run it. jaebin refused, but he agreed to manage the editorial branch, which gave him enough experience and time to both manage business and write his own works. shortly after this, he received a mysterious letter in the mail about an organization called gemini. they were looking for him to be the knight, and they were definitely not a scam group because they knew everything there was to know about him.

- and for decades, jaebin managed his editorial branch of seyoon publishing company, finally publishing his first book in 1999. titled 'bloodstained snow', the vampire au novel took off with a boom. fueled by the gothic craze and the powerful chen vampire family of shanghai, lee jaebin was soon the most popular author in korea, and he gave up his managerial position to focus on writing. people begged to translate his novels, but little did they knew, the company had their own translators. as his debut novel spreaded across the world, jaebin worked on new books. in 2005, 'insensible', a tragic story about past-life lovers in a modern-day setting, drove him to become the #1 best-selling rookie author in america. the next year, its sequel, 'kings for a day', received critical acclaim from known critics, and he became the jkr of today.

- but no one knew what he looked like. rumors were that he was a recluse, that he had agoraphobia and severe anxiety and never wanted to be seen. whatever the case, whatever the means, no one has seen him, and that's how it will remain.

"i don't need friends. i was meant to be alone."

"you try living for centuries. you'd be pretty tired too."

trivia:
- his favorite color is yellow
- he can play piano, guitar, violin, and more [generally, he plays most of the string instruments, but he only really admits to playing violin since he believes it to be superior (but he's WRONG)]
- his writing style is poetic but also dry humor
- he graduated from stanford
- he visits his vamp family sometimes in shanghai, though he still likes beijing better. just a connection thing
- sometimes he likes to go into the museums and look at artifacts. it's weird to him since he remembers exactly when some things happened and yet he didn't have a clue about the things made then
- he's not a techy person at all
- he has an interest in philosophy and the profound, often spending his night looking at the stars
- the beijing skyline is his favorite. the night never ends, and the city stays alive, yet the highways can be so serene
- he likes cats but they don't respond well to him (i wonder why) so he doesn't have one
- he's ambidextrous but prefers his right
- he likes jazz
- he actually likes the sun, but he hates rain
- when he's thinking, he taps his pen against his lips
- he only writes in pen and on the computer
- when he's nervous, he fidgets with his hands or his shirt
- he has a habit of grabbing the front of his pants (like this but casually? it's not as weird as it seems)
- he does not wear a watch. he carries a pocket watch
- he's tried his hand at gardening before but he
- nonetheless, he keeps a pot of buttercups on his windowsill
- he lives on the 17th floor of a high-rise building
- he reads a lot and almost never watches tv
- he sometimes goes shopping but more often than not, he calls grocery delivery
- he does have a personal assistant but he's irrelevant lmao

chen ruilan : mother : 157 : ceo of seyoon publishing company : 8/10
jaebin's mother taught him everything he knew about the underworld. she was a good mother, albeit a bit distant, but she raised him on discipline and morals. vampire morals, i guess. fc: tang wei.

lee saebin : sister : 106 : translator : 5/10
saebin was originally recruited into gemini as well, as a pawn, but she refused. years later, she joined cards and cut off connections. but she's still jaebin's little sister, and he misses her and worries about her.

lee jaejin : personal assistant : 69 : personal assistant : 6/10
a distant cousin, jaejin works as jaebin's personal assistant. they are of the same generation, but jaebin's significantly older and doesn't need jaejin's help anyway. they're not close, but jaejin is obligated to show up at his door to drive him to the office, sit in his office the entire day in case he needs help, drive him back, get him dinner, etc. oftentimes, jaebin flatout refuses the services, but occasionally, he gives in. sometimes he treats jaejin to food. fc: ftisland's jaejin.

"when will you have another book for me? i can't stand waiting anymore!"

name: song seunghyun
backup: aoa's choa

other names: none
nicknames:
- songsari: just a stupid thing his friends call him, usually girls fawning over him lmao

birthday:august 21, 1992
age: 27

nationality: korean
ethnicity: korean
species: human

birthplace: seoul
hometown: seoul

occupation: editor

appearance:
- exactly like faceclaim. he only wears one earring at a time, and it's usually a stud or smth. he smiles a lot, laughs a lot, so he has laugh lines lmao. he looks slightly young for his age and is definitely not as whitewashed as in the pic.

fashion:
- song seunghyun wears a lot of typical white boy/boi/e-boy outfits. that is to say, nike sweatpants (the ones with the white stripes down the side; it might have actually been adidas but idk lol), nike sneakers, and some random t-shirt that may or may not be supreme. in short, cliche but trendy. he also likes the color black, so a lot of his clothes are going to be muted. during the summer, though, he wears hella hawaiian shirts. people joke about how he's a premature dad, but he keeps wearing them.

personality:
- song seunghyun is one of those people you just can't hate, even if you try. he laughs a lot, smiles a lot, and he's always ready to help anyone at a moment's notice. he takes his job very seriously, but he's content enough to stay a junior editor if it means having more time to pursue his hobbies. he genuinely cares about the people he's close with and is slightly naive in the sense that he would drop anything to help anyone. he's also quite sensitive and hates hurting other people. ofc, he hates getting hurt himself too, since he tends to take criticisms too personally. he loves children but is content to look after his friends' instead of having his own. he's not afraid to be silly to make other people smile, but he does tend to throw himself out there and not get enough back in return.

he's the kind of person who believes you whatever you say and is always ready to help. however, he's also quite sensitive, and he doesn't easily trust people enough to become excellent friends with them. he's one of those people who never really grew up, and he's still a kid inside, but that does mean that he gets conned a lot, and even though he has real-life experience, he's still way too naive. he's also really clingy and whines a lot.

background:
- seunghyun's just your normal human. he was born and raised in seoul, went to school in seoul, etc. he didn't know what he wanted to do, but in college, his roommate was a kid called minhwan, who wanted to be an editor. unfortunately, minhwan died soon afterwards due to a car accident and seunghyun never really got over it. he decided to become an editor to fulfill minhwan's dreams. minhwan always wanted to work at seyoon publishing company, the company that published lee jaebin's books, and seunghyun worked hard to get in. he thought that was it, but little did he know, he would get to edit lee jaebin's books.

"...until he came along."

GQKD.gif
"with him, i can feel happy again."

first meeting:
- seunghyun had only been working for a year when, in 2015, it was rumored that lee jaebin would come out with a new book. the office lit up with excitement, and whispers flew around about who would get to edit it. seunghyun didn't dare think much, but when the time came, he found lee jaebin's newest book, bonfire, sitting on his desk. a person whom he presumed to be a senior editor walked by and went 'you better take good care of it, i heard he had a lot of hope in you.'

after the 'senior' walked away, someone in the cubicle across the aisle went 'dude! do you know who that was?' and seunghyun was like 'uhh wasn't he just a senior editor?' and the dude was like 'nuh uh, that was lee jaebin himself! he used to manage us and still sometimes comes in to chat' and seunghyun wanted to pass the out lol.

development:
- seunghyun is pretty good at his job. jaebin came into discuss the book with him, and it was all seunghyun could do not to fangirl. when they were done the first time, jaebin invited him to lunch in his office, and over the food, seunghyun told him about how jaebin was his favorite author and his friend's favorite author too. then it obviously came to 'oh who's your friend?' 'he's dead now' etc. and it was awkward. but in any case, jaebin has this skill of making things less awkward so he diffused the situation and set about revising. the second time around, jaebin was much more casual, and seunghyun thought 'okay, this is cool, maybe i can be more casual too'. but he didn't because work is work and life is life, but when the book published and instantly became another bestseller, jaebin invited him out to dinner and in the dead of winter, they sat in the back corner of a ramen place and just talked about life.

pretty soon, it was known that song seunghyun, that one junior editor who worked his off, was editing all of lee jaebin's books. not that jaebin comes out with many books, but whenever he did, it went to seunghyun. what was not known, though, was that seunghyun and jaebin became pretty close friends in real life. seunghyun realized that there was smth not quite right about jaebin pretty early on (i mean, no normal person would be that pale... right?) but it wasn't like he was going to mention it. plus, ppl are different and that's just a fact of life. unfortunately, that does mean that jaebin only really goes out at night and seunghyun's lowkey worried lol.

but they get through it, and they become friends. seunghyun's not a very bright person, tbh, so he doesn't notice the gestures of affection. he just puts it off as 'oh we're friends', but literally... everyone realizes that jaebin likes him. unfortunately, seunghyun is a ing , so jaebin gives up on him. they're still friends, though, but jaebin doesn't go as hard for him anymore... or does he?

status: jaebin still likes him (despite what he might tell himself) but seunghyun is... well, you'll see later lol

trivia:
- sometimes jaebin calls seunghyun into his office to have lunch or to work on editing
- seunghyun has a whole bunch of trinkets on his desk from jaebin (like bobbleheads, paperweights, stuff like that)
- some days, jaebin leaves a flower on seunghyun's desk when he comes in
- there's not much else you need to know, i don't think, other than the fact that jaebin still likes him despite his ness

"what would i do if i lost myself?"

"this is the place where night and day combine. up is down, and what was is no longer."

last words:
- okay so i know the love interest section was bullty and terrible, but i promise i'm not crazy. jaebin is probably my most complex character to date, and his story closely intertwines with his sister's, so if things are confusing, feel free to ask me to explain my mindset on both characters.

scene requests:

other names:

nicknames:
- batman: since he's a vampire, and stereotypically they turn into bats? hahahahaha that was terrible but it was still better than horsie goddamn it

species:
- vampire

other ages:

birthday:
- november 7, 1898

hometown:
- seoul

occupation:
- weapons analyst -- other people bring him weapons and he tells them the suspected origin, purpose, and whether or not it's good; oftentimes he'll also tell them if the weapon suits them and their fighting style, and he'll suggest a new weapon, but he won't actually deal it to them

"when night falls and all the creatures come out, that's when you'll find me."

height:
- 179cm

weight:
- 65kg

appearance:
- i mean, same as white side but much paler and his eyes are startlingly purple (this color) instead of muted purple. he's also taller than his white side, and he has a lot more scars, on his ribs and arms and hands. if you ask, he'll tell you that he got them from training, but in reality, he got a lot of them from just doing stupid like jumping off a cliff. etc.i don't think there's anything else that bears mentioning, though.

fashion:
- fitting black clothes. like, that's pretty much it. he has his ears pierced but he doesn't actually wear anything. he wears a single leather strip around his left wrist so that he himself can differentiate between his dark and white sides, but other than that, nothing much different from his white side. unless, i guess, you count the fact that he doesn't wear quite as many suits?

"whoever said i was weak can eat my blade."

superthumb.jpg?t=1407517585
                                                  "dracula? why, i'm flattered."

traits:
+ loyal, humorous, motherly, thoughtful
= whimsical, realistic, distrustful
- rash, violent, moody

personality:
- tl;dr: in general, not much different from his white side, except slightly more serious and bloodthirsty.
- if jaebin likes you and trusts you, he'll follow you to the ends of the world. usually, he's also the resident mom friend and will take care of the other members of gemini, whether or not they want it. it bears saying, though, that his affection is sort of greasy, like a y older brother type, but it's not like anyone can't escape it. it's also nice since he genuinely cares, and he'll take time out of his own schedule to listen to your problems. he'll help you try to solve them too, and he'll try to give you advice on how to deal with it. he's the kind of person to notice the small details, like how badly does that injury actually hurt, this person likes XX coffee, etc. he's also quite cheerful and chill and has a strong sense of humor. of course, it's mostly dirty and/or self-deprecating (" is using a feather, is using the whole chicken..." / "what does a 75 woman have between her that a 25 year old girl doesn't? her navel LOL" reference to saggy lmao). okay but fr, if you need a real pick-me-up, he will have one ("a man showed up to a duel with nothing but paper and a pencil. he then proceeded to DRAW his weapon").

[i changed stuff throughout the negatives section]

he doesn't get angry a lot, but his anger is the violent sort, smashing things and loud yelling. he's also quite rash and makes on-the-whim decisions. it's not necessarily always about violence, but sometimes he'll go off and not consult the other Gemini members when making a decision, or he'll impulse-buy stuff (which you understand why this isn't great?? he's rich but money don't fall off trees!). he doesn't fight a lot, but he's actually not bad at fighting. he especially knows how to use the surroundings to his advantage. he also has a tendency to be hella emo/moody, especially when the people around him are fighting, during which he won't talk unless it's to say emo/deep/philosophical things. it's not weird, but it's also enough to shut up the argument or stop it for the time being. on a side note, his mood from angry to happy changes hella quick, and he'll be beating someone up one second and then laughing innocently the next. it's... odd, to say the least?

if everything is going smoothly, jaebin gives off the vibe of a cheerful, airheaded dude. he can be fairly whimsical and just talk about the randomest things ("do you think plants can fall in love with us? what do you think happens when we die?"). he enjoys some deep talk, but he's also surprisingly realistic. he wants to be king, but it's not like he would necessarily do too much to get it. it might seem conflicting to have both distrustful and loyal as personality traits, but jaebin honestly doesn't trust many ppl. he doesn't like to be vulnerable, so he trusts only those who have proven themselves, which means he doesn't make many true friends since, well, most people leave. however, when he does make friends, he's loyal to them for just about the rest of his life.

[because i'm doing this late as i'm just putting this here instead of inside the actual personality: the things that trigger him are usually like... people bringing up old grudges, people disagreeing with him on a topic that he clearly does not want to talk about anymore, long arguments with the Gemini Squad, or just anything when he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. it doesn't have to be a big thing, just something mildly irritating that he blows way out of proportion.]

background:
- see white side first
- after he found out he was a vampire, jaebin was shocked and confused. he didn't know that vampires were even real, much less his own family was vampy. he didn't know what to think, and he was afraid that he would hurt innocent people, so he went into recluse at his parents' mountain vacation home. while there, he had his second dark side transformation, but different from the first time, he retained his memories this time. no one was hurt except a few unfortunate animals. when he reverted, it scared him how much he enjoyed the thrill, so he called his mom so he could learn how to control everything.

his mother visited him over the course of several years and taught him how to control his transformations at will, as well as his abilities, and she trained him to blend in with the shadows, etc. then, when he was recruited into gemini, he furthered his training, though he chose not to interact with underworlders other than his family and gemini. if he could help it, that is.

"family? i have no family."

"why are you following me? can you even see me?"

trivia:
- his favorite color is red
- turns out his mom was using her powers to feed his energy back when he didn't know he was a vampire
- he has rerouted a few blood donations to himself (idk how don't ask me) but also goes out to buy blood in the supermarket (although it tastes nasty) [you'd be surprised that walmart sells pig blood... honestly, most supermarkets sell chilled pig blood, but in general, asian farmers' markets all have it too, but fresh uwu]
- somewhat claustrophobic but it's not necessarily debilitating
- u m ? i honestly don't know what else to say because his white and dark sides are so entwined

relations:
- see white side; he doesn't interact with jaejin that much tbh, dude's just his mom's way of keeping tabs on him

shin jineul : rival? friend? : 24(?) : queen : 7/10
in a way, they're both very similar, but they're also quite different. jaebin has a much more relaxed way of thinking about life and dealing with situations because of his age and experience, yet jineul can solve problems faster. ah, young blood. they both vy for the king position, but tbh, jaebin would feel pretty okay if jineul got it in the end.

[i didn't work with min on this but in my opinion, i feel like jineul would challenge jaebin to a duel whenever he gets pissed at him (or like, whenever they disagree on something and need to come to an agreement) and jaebin just sort of rolls his eyes but goes along with it. i feel like they would just come to a draw most of the times, but either of them could win if they really wanted to, and idk it's sort of like a grudging respect in my mind?]

"who i am is irrelevant."

"so what if want me? let them come get me."

plotline: knight

position:
- second-in-command: he's content with this role and even though he does want to be king, he wouldn't feel ed over if jineul got the role
- reconnaissance: he might be old, but he has connections, so he's usually the one scouting and finding out about the other side

living quarters:
- jaebin lives alone in an apartment. it's very... bacheloresque, except imagine a neat, classy bachelor. so basically imagine the typical apartment that you see in ads and on tv and insert him into it. his color scheme is gray and white. [here's the pic]
- one thing about him is that he needs natural light. even if he can't enjoy it, he needs to feel like he's in an open space. that's why he always keeps his curtains open. no shades or blinds, unless the sun is down, at which point it doesn't matter anymore lol. he has a pot of buttercups on his window.
- he doesn't necessarily stay at gemini hq, but he has a room in case he needs to. it's... surprisingly similar to his room at home? he has a plant here too, but it always dies since no one takes care of it and there's no natural light.

weaponry:
- jian (chinese longsword): he picked it up from his mother who picked it up from her mother and so on, and refined his skills when he got into gemini
- twin daggers: this is smth he picked up after he got into gemini, but he's surprisingly skilled at it

fighting style:
- he's more of a sitting-on-the-sidelines guy than a fighting guy, but if it really comes to it, he knows his way around. he's a speed and agility guy, and he knows how to use his surroundings to his advantage. since he's a close combat sort of person, he's usually the one pressing his enemy since he can't afford to get cornered. he especially likes to sweep his sword from under since most people won't be protected as well there. he strikes for chinks in whatever armor the other person is wearing.

abilities:
- charm: this is probably the only magical ability he has, but it's powerful. as long as he makes eye contact, he has control people to do his will and erase memories as well. the charmed person will have no memories of being charmed. he doesn't need to maintain eye contact, but he does need to spend a good amount of attention on the charmed person to maintain control or else the charm will wear off.
- blending into shadows: not magical, but it comes with being a vamp. he can melt into the shadows and move along that way.

equipment:
- weapons
- first aid kit
- whatever else you need for missions

strengths:
- high speed and agility
- charm
- shadowing

weaknesses:
- low strength
- charm doesn't work on people who have strong wills
- little real-world fighting experience
- panicks if he's fighting in an enclosed space

"everyone, shut up! the faerie queen has arrived."

codename: gossamer

name: choi seoah
backup: seunghyun

other names:
- juniel: fae name; this is the name she goes by

nicknames:
- juni: this is pretty self-explanatory

species: fae; seelie court

birthday: september 3 (she's probably been alive longer than jaebin has but) 1993 for the humans
other ages: 3264 in fae

hometown: seoul
occupation: costume designer

appearance:
- like faceclaim, but pointy ears and leaf green eyes; sometimes she glows; she can change her appearance at will, but she usually chooses to stay like the picture. she does have wings, but she can vanish them as well.

fashion:
- she usually wears long, floaty dresses. sort of like a bohemian style, if you would, and her hair's either just down or in ringlets. she likes the colors white, orange, and pink, and she usually wears dangly earrings in the shape of a leaf.

personality:
+ Hardworking, reliable, kind
- Timid, slow/doesn't like to think, secretive

when she's set her mind to do something, she'll give it her all and won't stop until either she's done it well or until she physically can't take it anymore. she's not the type to give up when something goes wrong, and she also takes her word very seriously; whatever she promises, she'll deliver. she doesn't say much, but she'll definitely do her part and sometimes more. if one of her friends is having a hard time, she's sure to help them catch up or even just be there as moral support. you can tell her secrets and she won't spill a single one (although sometimes that's because she forgets what you told her). she's also a sweet kid and wants to make everyone else feel their best. she often prepares breakfast for everyone and comes in early to deliver. if someone is feeling down, Hanbyul's usually the one who makes them feel better.

however, she's a bit shy. usually, she'll only talk to strangers if they started talking to her first. she can seem like she doesn't really like other people, but that's only because she's shy. she's also scared of a lot of things, like the dark. she needs a lot of sleep, but that means she's prone to oversleeping. when she's tired or when she's overslept, she'll be really groggy throughout the day and won't feel like moving or doing anything. she'll want to sleep all the time, and her brain just doesn't really work when she's tired. in addition, she hates doing chores lol but thankfully, she has magic on her side. she keeps secrets well, but that means she has a lot of secrets of her own. she doesn't like to talk about her feelings and tends to bottle in all her emotions or displeasures.

background:
- she's a full fae and born in seoul. from the beginning, her parents have been educating her about the history of the seelie court and their conflict with the unseelies, so she grew up with a premeditated hate against the unseelies. she spends most of her life travelling around, so it doesn't matter what time period it is in the human world since she won't stay in one place long enough to care. but one day, she was recruited as a pawn for gemini, and though she told them that she's not likely to physically stay with them, they wanted her anyway for her extensive contacts and travels specifically. they also told her that maybe she could find out more about the unseelie court to lure her in, and she couldn't resist that.

"...but she can survive on her own..."

"juni? never underestimate her. you'd be dead as soon as you do."

plotline: pawn

position: human resources? of a sort?

living quarters:
- she never stays in the same place for a long time, and in any case, there are fae everywhere, so she can usually just squeeze in with one of them. she maintains a room at hq, though. it's your typical hipster room and she allows other gemini members to hang out in it if they want since she doesn't keep any important things there.

weaponry:
- lightbringer: she doesn't fight, but she carries around a dagger to make herself feel better. it's embedded with powerful fae magic that paralyzes the victim, but in reality, if she ever had to use the dagger, she'd be ed either way.

abilities:
- various magic: her usual fae magic spans elemental control to invisibility to household chores. you can literally make up anything for her. it's hard to pin down since she can use her magic for pretty much anything. she can also talk to animals and plants and that sort of thing.
- fire: her primary fighting power is fire. she can throw fireballs and summon a rain of fire, as well as drop a wall of fire or surround the enemies with fire.
- shield: she can wrap herself in a bubble and be safe from anything that ppl throw at her. to an extent, ofc. she can extend shield to her allies as well.

fighting style:
- she doesn't really fight, but if she has to, she's always in the back and controls fire from a distance. she does carry a dagger in case things get personal, but she knows she'd be ed if anything did get personal.

equipment:
- the normal equipment
- a single dagger
- instant communication device with gemini

strengths:
- wide range of contacts and allies
- powerful magic
- she doesn't have many enemies

weaknesses:
- no strength
- like, zero fighting experience
- no weaponry or anything

"...because i don't love her."

CZIY5OJUMAAQfbH.jpg
"she's someone i trust, i'll tell you that much."

first meeting:
- jaebin first met her when gemini was introduced to each other. since his own sister had turned down the pawn position, he made sure to take notice of juniel. she looked innocent enough, but usually, it was exactly that kind of person who was the most dangerous.

development:
- this part is important
- she became like his own sister, especially after saebin defected. jaebin is totally in love with seunghyun, but he doesn't want to drag him into this , and he knows that juniel isn't exactly the kind of person to kill or harm any normal human for the honor of the underworld (unlike other people he knows), so he told her about the situation and asked her, if she could, to keep an eye on the boy and protect him in the case that he (jaebin) dies. she agreed, but suggested that maybe they should start faking a relationship if he was so worried about the boy being found out. jaebin agreed, and though they're not romantically involved, they pretend to be.

status:
- fake relationship

trivia:
- jaebin often gets asked about whether or not he misses juniel when she's travelling
- juniel got a lot of from her parents when they found out she was 'dating' a vampire lmao
- they do have fun together; it's just not romantic
- the one thing they do the most together is eat

"who i am? i'm your worst nightmare."

"and so we live on, don't we? boats against the current..."

maggie's comments:
- this was terrible lol and very long and i'm sorry you have to read everything. but yeah! it was fun! hope you like my boi :"))
- i wrote this under the assumption that his white side and dark side were very much intertwined
- if you have to read anything carefully, it'd be seunghyun and juniel and jaebin's relationship with both of them.

password: ace of spades

scene reqs:
- one flashback or smth about jaebin telling juniel about seunghyun and her suggesting the fake dating
- juniel maybe dropping in to check up on seunghyun
- jaebin a little bloodthorsty boi
- shadowy melting :")))

"you want my head? come get it yourself."

ink, flowing from the heart to the fingertips. the crisp smell of parchment and the swoops of the letters on paper. snow, untainted, pure like the angels intended. the dark lines of blood running down the sidewalk, unhurried, unrushed, as the man behind him dies slowly. nothing is safe, yet everything is. no one knows him, yet everyone knows him. he is a mystery. he is enigma.
