- a few years later, she and jaebin and their mother went on a trip to china. saebin was excited because she didn't remember anything about china, but jaebin told her that something didn't feel right about this trip. turns out, nothing was right about this trip. her mom took them to shanghai to meet family and essentially told them that they were vampires. saebin had no ing clue what this meant, but jaebin was unhappy about it, so she assumed it was bad.

- after her brother went into recluse, saebin tried not to think about being a vampire. by then, she was going into college, and she'd been accepted into tokyo university. she didn't really want to go, but she wanted to get away from korea and all the unhappiness of her family drama. she didn't even choose a great major lol, she chose ing Statistics, which is about as useless a major as Pure Mathematics is. (jkjk i love math ppl). given the situation of the world in 1930, her mom told her that it'd be best if she just went to school in korea, but since she refused to listen, her mom arranged for her to live with a family friend. the family friend turned out to be a vampire as well, who told her that her powers would start manifesting soon, so she (the family friend) would have to teach her how to control them.

- in 1937, china-japan relations became ed, and saebin was definitely not welcome in japan. she was bullied, and sometimes, she let her dark side show. it scared most people off, but there were a few people who refused to let it go, and that was when saebin would unleash her dark side. no one died, though, since he had controlled her powers. she stayed in japan for a while, actually, because despite all the happening, she liked the country, and there actually were people who were nice to her. also, it probably wasn't plausible to go right back in the middle of a war.

- but when she came back, her brother was too. overjoyed, she begged him to take her to america so they could have some true bonding time because it seemed like each time they tried, nothing worked out. [as for why they went to america, it was because it was supposed to be the 'land of opportunity', and even if asians were discriminated against, they thought they'd be fine because they were vampies. also because they wanted to see for themselves what this 'opportunity' was. i was, for the record, half-asleep while doing these kids.] so they went, but unfortunately, it was the cold war era, and asians were generally not welcome, especially in light of the korean war. still, saebin was so happy that she could finally escape the pressures of asia that she didn't even care about that.

- she did bond with jaebin. over that time, they both worked odd jobs around the neighborhood and just enjoyed the relative peace in america. jaebin didn't go out much, but saebin did and found lots of friends she could talk to. unfortunately, there were also a lot of bullies. but saebin usually took care of them in her own way by showing them that she was a vampire (on the down low, ofc), so not many people bothered her.

- one night, in the ing middle of the vietnam war craze, some dudes decided to harass her. they were gangy buff dudes, and she was out at night even though jaebin had told her not to go out at night, and now she was regretting it, but she really wanted to go clubbing with her friends. so she got stuck in this predicament and the dudes really wanted to bully an asian girl out alone at night, but little did they know that saebin was a vampire! so she whipped out some cool moves and her powers but unfortunately there were just too many of them for her to do any real damage. thankfully, right then, jaebin came along and snapped, and the ones who weren't dead were basically broken anyway.

- they stayed in america for around ten years, and by the time they left, they were almost sick of each other. probably a good thing, since shortly after they came back, jaebin was scouted into gemini. saebin was scouted as well, but she didn't know what they wanted from her and especially didn't want to use her powers for anything bad. she soft-refused but told them that she would have to think about it, and through her mom, she found out that there was another organization called cards, which was traditionally against gemini. not that anyone was supposed to know, but mother had connections...

- turned out, a lot of the missions were dangerous, and knowing her brother, he wouldn't be able to handle . saebin secretly joined gemini as well, but not as a member, instead as a spy. her main mission was to conceal her identity as a vampire and join cards, passing along information to gemini as an insider. but to do that, she would have to cut off contact with everyone and move back to beijing. but if it meant protecting her brother, she was willing to do that.

- in the meantime, though, she works as a translator, translating important documents from korean to chinese and vice versa

- one day, saebin came into work with a huge stack of papers on her desk. she thought she was going to die, but apparently, she had to translate a book into chinese. when she looked at the author, she nearly had a heart attack. it was her brother's book. she had to translate her brother's book into chinese. it pained her to do it, but she did it anyway, but apparently she didn't do it well enough because the original editor paid a visit. he was c u t e with a capital C. and that was that.

development:
- apparently, everyone in the korean office knew that lee jaebin liked song seunghyun, but saebin knew that seunghyun was head over heels for her. she definitely didn't mind the attention, but at the same time, she hated to be associated so closely with her brother because it was an easy way to be exposed, and on a second thought, she didn't want to drag any innocents into this whole mess. but seunghyun persisted, and they became good friends. saebin tries not to contact him often, but the boy is ing oblivious and won't take any hints ("is this how my brother felt too?") and it's so frustrating. but she likes him, just not quite as much as her brother does. probably.
