Takashima Kenji was born on April 12th, 1997 in Kobe, Japan to his parents Takashima Kenichi and Takashima Misaki. He has two younger sisters, Takashima Seina and Takashima Jurie, who are 4 and 7 years younger than Kenji respectively. For the first 14 years of Kenji's life, nothing really groundbreaking happened to him or his family; it was only a week before his 15th birthday that everything went down the drain.
To put simply, Kenichi passed away on the job due to a heart attack. And of course, this had taken a major turn for the family. Kenichi was the only source of income in the household, and Misaki had been unemployed due to a disability. So, Kenji and his family had to rely on Kenichi's life insurance. However, that wasn't enough for the family, as the kids were getting older and Misaki had to think ahead, but couldn't figure anything out. Then Kenji stepped in.
Kenji took a huge risk and suggested that he could move to South Korea to possibly become an idol. He knew of the Hallyu Wave and knew that idols could get a ton of money from their music and such. So what could go wrong? Misaki agreed and Kenji moved to South Korea to live with an ex-coworker of his father.
Kenji moved to South Korea in 2013 where he auditioned for many companies while finishing off school. A year later, Kenji got accepted into Dal Media and was put in a pre debut co-ed group, Twilight.

So, in order to be a decent idol, Kenji pushed himself to his limits as time progressed. He started to study Korean more than most foreign trainees and made friends with practically everyone.
In the end, Kenji's and Twilight's hard work paid off as they were officially preparing for their debut in 2020.

HISTORY Kenji and Sage first met at Young Studios. While Sage was just settling in Korea, Twilight came to Young Studios for some training. During a break, the two ran into each other and started to converse with each other in broken Korean. After Twilight's practice, Willow introduced Sage to the group. Kenji and Sage exchanged numbers after their short introduction.
As they are both friendly people, Kenji and Sage became close over the next couple of years, but their relationship was just that: friends. There wasn't really a turning point where they started having romantic feelings towards each other, it just naturally happened. Kenji ended up keeping his feelings towards himself, while Sage didn't.
Sage confided to Saerom about her crush, and Saerom suggested for her to confess her feelings towards Kenji, otherwise their friendship will most likely turn into a huge mess. And so, Sage and Kenji met up for lunch where Sage confessed that she had a crush on Kenji, but she didn't want to rush anything nor pressure Kenji into being with her. A couple weeks later, Dal Media informed Twilight that they would be debuting.
Kenji and Sage’s relationship is now in this awkward purgatory stage, as they both have feelings for one another but couldn't risk getting into a relationship right away.
